Brooknom's world

Is God Pleased with the death of those who die in their wickedness. This is a question many people ask and ponder. The Bible actually answers this question, and What happened to Jonah and the assyrians are examples of Gods heart on this matter.

To all of my listeners globally thank you for taking the time out of your day to check out my podcast

What happened in the belly of that great fish? Is it possible that historically the view point was that Jonah actually died and was raised from the dead? In this episode I explore this option.

Are we adhering to the true intent of scripture? Are we focused on worshiping in spirit and in truth? Are we more concerned with the letter of the law and our man made requirements? In this episode I explore these ideas from the lens of church building attendance verses fellowship with the body of Christ. I don't have all the answers this is just one of many  things I ponder on my journey in...

Took a road trip spending time with family be back shortly thank you to all who support and listen

What is it about peripheral issues that take us so far off the mark. is it that we loose focus, is it that these things drain and steal our attention. in This short episode I explore this Idea through the lens of my limited understanding.

Jonah chapter 2 contains within it the tail of the hypocrisy of humanity. We want for others the opposite of what we want for ourselves, We want mercy while proclaiming judgment on all others. This chapter also highlights our willingness to recognize Gods mercy in the face of our sin and disobedience, while calling others into condemnation.

There is a spiritual battle that rages on in the mind of people. C.S Lewis did a very good job in the screw tape letters theorizing what that battle looks like.

The Account of Jonah contains many parallels to the Lord Jesus Christ and the message of the gospel. In this episode I loosely explore those parallels and the greater meaning.

There are ancient accounts of floods and gardens thought to be legend. Some Of these Stories like the flood have their versions across different continents and peoples. The core of these accounts seem to stay the same no matter how they are told, is this a coincidence? I say no.

Has it ever dawned on you that through the book of Jonah account he was the only Hebrew. The mariners were gentile, probably from Tarshish the people of Nineveh are gentiles, citizens of Assyria. So the big question that remains, is the Old Testament just about the Hebrew people? I believe the answer is obviously no.

Was Jonah fleeing out of fear or hatred? in this episode I explore that question. Was The Ship Jonah boarded to take his journey of rebellion one of the mighty ships of tarshish? in my opinion that's most likely the case. In The Writings of The Greek Historian Herodotus he proclaims that there was a civilization that existed outside of the pillars of Hercules which is thought to be the rock format...

Jonah The Prophet the son of Amittai of Gathhepher per 2nd Kings 14:25 tries to get as far away from Assyria as possible. There is debate on where exactly Tarshish was located and I get into a little bit of that history on this episode. There is no doubt that Jonah was disobedient in violating Gods instruction,I would however caution piously looking down on his decision without considering the cir...

Just read it, develope whatever regiment works for you.

Wrapping up the Book of exodus I have thoroughly enjoyed going through this book even with my limited knowledge.

How Much are we wrong about when it comes to bible doctrine, prophecy, and truth in general because of Pride, despite the clear Bible evidence to the contrary of whatever it is we believe. So my question is how much is hidden in plain site because of our unwillingness to budge on tradition and or false teaching.

Does God involve himself in the details of life, I say if you look at the design of the tabernacle and all its items it is a resounding yes.

How Much of what we know and or believe is loosely based on things we have heard without ever checking on these things.

Happy New Year's to all of the worldwide federated internet.

The Lord Jesus Christ told the crowd who sought to stone him "search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me". In this we come to find and know that the scriptures point to him, so in all these descriptions and details of the building of the tabernacle we should seek to find the greater meaning towards Christ. All of this won't be understood...

In reading the book of Exodus chapter 37 I begin to ask myself if understanding the Israelite customs and culture especially of this Time would perhaps help me to understand the book better. Here we have more details given on the efforts of Bezaleel and the rest of the skilled laborers, in the construction of the ark and the tabernacle.

It is easy to look at Jonah as a failure and completely sold to rebellion. I won't tell you that that isn't a fair assessment but I will say that assessment might be missing some context. This context does not absolve Jonah or clear him of his rebellious actions but it does give a unique look and maybe understanding of his decisions.  https://www.worldhistory.org/nineveh/  https://www.na...

In this world there is a battle for control but the field of valor is not some grass strip or mountain peek,  but the thoughts and processes of the mind.

I see this debate every year during this time ,do I celebrate Christmas? is it a pagan holiday? am I violating God by partaking in the days festivities? I can not give anyone license to do or not to do something I can not stand in Gods place over your conscience. Biblically I see nothing wrong with Christmas Day. I don't worship nor believe in Santa clause, I don't worship the Christmas tree it is...

The Hebrew people follow the instructions and craft the tabernacle.
