Today I am going to talk about things you never hear at the sporting goods store. You don't read magazine or blog articles about it. Heck, people don't even talk about it. This might be because they don't deal with it. But, my encouragement for testing or practice is all about the subject. These are the things that have happened to me as I continue to train for my PCT section hike. Learn more at h...

You have probably heard the saying 'What is old is new again.". Well, today is no exception. With people freaking out about the new administration, I try to make the argument that you shouldn't be so concerned just because wasn't your guy. Conversely, I don't think you should be jumping up and down if it is your guy. I think that you will see what I mean if you give it a listen.  Learn more a...

I say pretty much what I want to say in the podcast. This concept is sufficiently nuanced and complicated that I won't do it justice in a short paragraph. This is a programming concept and I do my best to distinguish how you would use each type. The reason that I think it is important is all about that ever sharpening logic saw that I keep pushing and working on myself. Learn more at https://altf4...

Since the beginning of time, man and nature rested in the Winter. I think I am inventing a new tradition. Just kidding, but today I talk about current events in my life and what my plans are moving forward. There is a reason the saying 'No Rest For the Wicked' is common. It describes me perfectly. about a Politician, then this might be the one. There has been a lot of to do about recently deceased, former president Jimmie Carter. I acknowledged last week, while I was alive during the entire term of Jimmie Carter I don't remember a single thing. As a result, I have been reading a lot of anecdotes and other things about the man. Dare I say, his legacy as a President might be dubious but his l...

Join me on memory lane for certain reasons. It is my birthday and it is a big one. I relay certain events in my life and use that for a foundation to get into the next book "The Fourth Turning". Hopefully it will also be anecdotal and somewhat amusing as well. Learn more at https://altf4.co

It's that time of year again that everyone is looking forward. Only 9% of people are still working on New Year's resolutions by the end of the year. Why is that? I talk a lot about that today and what you can do about it. This topic applies throughout the entire year, not just at the beginning but we all have to start somewhere. For the Rest Of Us... Festivus is becoming a tradition around here for good reason. I've got a lot of problems with you people. I talk a lot of sports, some politics and current issues. This is part of wrapping up the year that I am in the midst of at this time. I am warning you that I ran a little long. But, I will give you a break next week. Happy Festivus from AltF4. I am coming back again with another year of Christmas ideas. For reference, I try to not talk about items that I talked about in previous years for a better catalog of ideas. I imagined this to be a quick run down of things that I would like but it morphed into a much longer rabbit trail. I share the whys and thoughts of some of the things that I would put on a Christmas list Learn more https://al...

I probably should spend less time speaking on politics. This is based on the number of times that I say it doesn't matter. It almost could be perceived as hypocritical. What I try to do is justify why we shouldn't and today is no different. Tune in to hear more evidence on the harmful effects of choosing sides. Learn more at https://altf4.co

What can I say, we all need inspiration. It is especially true when the environment changes and you didn't welcome it. Today I talk about two different streams of changes and how that has impacted the way business was done. It is sometimes overwhelming to change when that is not what you want to do. You probably have gone on vacation and fallen in love with the place you were at. I know that I have. But, vacationing and living are two different things. First, it is likely that you are visiting at the ideal time of year. Can you deal with living somewhere on the less than ideal time of year? Learn more at https://altf4.co

As we get ready for one of the biggest holidays of the year that focuses on being thankful, I talk about my feelings on the subject this year. Hopefully, you don't think it is just me spouting my particular brand of subjects but that I offer a perspective of what thankfulness means in a more existential sense. Trump has wasted no time getting ready to start. I believe that this is something that comes from his non-governmental background. Successful projects are always planning to have the best and fastest possible results. I am still on the fence about him or any other politician for that matter but from what I have heard so far, this has the possibility to actually Make America Great Again. I will res...

Today I talk about a mentor that passed away. I took a trip down memory lane a little bit. From that, I draw some conclusions about the value of mentors and why we men should be looking to pay it forward. As it is from the heart, it should be a good one. Learn more at https://altf4.co

If we just vote harder, if our candidate wins, have you seen it work? I wonder why? Why is it that a unified legislative and and executive body still does not fulfill campaign promises? I talk about these questions today as well as cover the Oregon ballot and what the election results mean to me. Learn more at https://altf4.co

Sometimes things happen by chance. I don't know why we meet the people we do and even more than that, hit it off. You should know by now, this episode is not necessarily about that but a couple of movie reviews that I ran into by chance. One is about who we were in the past and one is about who we are about to be in the future. Learn more at https://altf4.co.

I sure had a lot to say for not know what to talk about. I had forgot that I had a Trick or Treat 2023 until I was checking to see if I had used that title already. So, I thought I would do it again after I check in on how those little treats played out from last year. I go of in a new direction this year primarily relating Halloween symbols to current events. That is all I am going to say, tune i...

Hot off of my vacation, I have fishing on the mind. I talk a little about what we did, the politics and some of the current status of fishing near me. This is a topic that could literally go on for hours there is so much to talk about. I keep it to the basics today. Learn more at https://altf4.co

Sometimes I think that we are so convinced that we are right that we miss what is going on around us. Our paradigm is so tight that we cant even understand the counter to our position. That is what today's podcast is all about. You will probably be surprise on my take of 'Law and Order'. Learn more at https://altf4.co

This is a bonus podcast. I pushed my regular recorded podcast for tomorrow. Since I am out of pocket, I wanted to make sure to let my Carolina brothers know I see you, I hear you, I am praying for you. As preparedness minded as I am, I don't know how you could ready for a situation like this. Keep up the good fight. Learn more at https://altf4.co

I like to take a wandering path. I talk about cars to establish the point with homes. This is a topic that is near and dear to my heart and given the choice, I will take design over specifications any day of the week. Join me today to see if you agree. Learn more at https://altf4.co

I admit that I spend a lot of my time forward looking. That sometimes leads my wife to accusing me of not living in the moment. Today you get a little of both. I have to say that I think this is my favorite time of year. But, don't get caught just enjoying yourself with potential storms ahead. Learn more at https://altf4.co

I hit on a lot of different subjects today. This is probably a topic that could have gone on for several more hours. I kept thinking of additional things and different applicable examples that fit in with what I was trying to say. I found that I got results that I didn't expect both negatively and positively. But, I wouldn't have known if I didn't try different things. Learn more at https://altf4....

Today is a look at political polarization, some of the reasons and if there is anything that can be done about it. Before we get caught in the trap that polarization is somebody else's problem to solve, we need to think about our role and what we can do about it. Learn more at https://altf4.co
