Valley Creek Church Weekend Messages

The normal response to an experience with the resurrected Jesus is to tell people. This is especially true at Easter. In this message from Pastor John Stickl, we see the pattern in Scripture: Jesus appears to us, He sets our hearts on fire, we go on mission to tell the world about who He is and what He's done for us.

Are you looking for a way to slow down from the speed of your life? You're looking for Selah. Selah is a word we find in the Psalms that translates to "interlude' – it's a time to pause, rest, and take a breath. In this Selah Experience, Pastor Jason Hillier leads us through a time where God's truth about who we are and who He is washes over us.

What kind of life are you building? Is it the kind of life you can't wait to take a vacation from, or is it a life of rest in Jesus? In today's message, Pastor Jason Hillier reminds us that we don't rest from our life; we rest for our life. Humility, gratitude, and margin are how we build and experience that kind of rest with Jesus.

We are called to create the future with God. As a church, we've chosen to do that in what we call Missional Move: Create the Future. It's a five-year journey to create five initiatives – and we're already one year in! In this message from Pastor John Stickl, we get an update on all of our initiatives. We’re starting to see it!

The most important thing we leave behind is the fire of God we carried. We can't control what was passed down to us, but we can control what we choose to hand down to those in our lives. In this message from Pastor John Stickl, we continue our conversation about God's consuming fire and how we can respond in faith and humility.

Whenever we do something important, we prepare. Our intensity of preparation matches the level of importance. In this message from Pastor John Stickl, we continue our conversation by looking at the life and example of Elijah and his preparation for calling down the fire of God.

Has your fire gone out? Is it different than you thought it would be or just barely hanging on? Is it vibrant, but you still want more of God? In this message from Pastor John Stickl, we continue our conversation on fueling the fire by talking through what to do when your fire goes out – it's simpler than you think!

Have you ever had someone interrupt your conversation? Those moments tend to reveal what's already in our hearts - either frustration, indifference, or grace. We want to be a people who choose to see God's surprises as Him calling our names and getting our attention so He can fuel our fires.

What do you really want? No really... do you know what you want? This question seems simple until you try to answer it. In this message from Pastor John Stickl, we get to the heart of what we desire and what we're beholding - ourselves or the cross.

A great campfire draws you in. It lights up your face and keeps you warm. But a fire must be tended. In this message from Pastor John Stickl, we start a conversation on tending and fueling the fire in our lives.

What does God want to "RE" in your life? Revive. Release. Redeem. As we wrapped up our three day encounter with God, we focused on Jesus and His kingdom. This is the year of the Lord's favor!

Jesus is our one thing, our only thing, our every thing. The whole service was focused on Jesus - talking to Him, praising Him, and ministering to Him together.

Christmas is when Jesus came to be with us, and it proves that God is good, Jesus has forgiven me, I am loved, and everything is possible.

How are you responding to God's goodness this Christmas? In this message from Caleb, Pastor Todd, and Eric, we're shown how being present, being generous, and making room for Jesus can help us respond well this Christmas.

What are you focused on this Christmas? In this message from Dawson, Karrie, and Justin, we're shown how focusing on the joy, amazement, and faith of the season can draw us closer to Jesus this Christmas.

What two words come to mind when you think of "Thanksgiving"? Maybe food and football or friends and family? But what about grace and gratitude? Those two words capture the heart of Thanksgiving because grace is the undeserved favor and supernatural empowerment of God, and gratitude is the normal response to receiving that grace. This weekend we took some time to respond to all God has been saying this fall through our Collection of Talks. Pastor Jason Hillier led us through a recap of movement, mission, and maturity as we responded together.

As a movement of hope, we've been called to dream with God and create the future with Him. In this message from Pastor John Stickl, we get an exciting update on each of our five Missional Move initiatives and how we're starting to see the future we're creating with God together!

We all start following Jesus because we're drawn by His love, but what happens when life gets difficult and you hit a wall? In this message from Pastor John Stickl, we discover that what the Bible says is the key to pushing through that wall and becoming mature may be the last thing we expect.

We all come to Jesus just as we are, but God invites us to so much more! In this message from Pastor John Stickl, we see that from the moment God invites us to come and follow Him, He invites us on the journey of maturity – to live with open hands and a surrendered heart.

Does your life look the same as it did three years ago? Are you more secure, more free, or more loving? In this message from Pastor John Stickl, we learn that God calls everyone to grow and mature, but we need a plan. We don't drift into maturity – it's the result of moving on mission with God.

If worship is just singing a song and mission is just a one-week trip, then maybe we're missing out on all God has for us in these areas. In this message by Pastor John Stickl, we discover how worship and mission are more connected and more important than we thought possible.

When grace flows into our lives, mission flows out. When we receive God's grace, we naturally start to live on mission to love and invite those around us. In this message by Pastor Jason Hillier, we took some time to respond to what the Holy Spirit has been saying to us about living on mission.
