The Same Old Dolphins Show

Aaron & Josh are back with some thoughts on the offseason thus far and ahead of the draft. Is this a draft for need situation for the Dolphins or will they be drafting the best players available. Join us for another fun episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com!

The Miami Dolphins have wasted no time addressing some areas of need heading into the 2023 season. Aaron and Josh are back to recap the moves they've made so far and the ones they'd still like to see them make. Plus, is an AFC East rival getting a new starting quarterback? They discuss all of this and more on another episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com!

The start of the 2023 NFL league year approaches! With the approaching "legal tampering period" and the draft, plus the NFL combine being in the books, Aaron and Josh felt now was as good a time as ever to do an off-season show. They discuss the seemingly never ending rumor mill surrounding the Dolphins' quarterback situation, Mike Pouncey signing a one-day contract to retire a Dolphin, the impend...

As the old adage goes, "Good news on Mondays, bad news on Fridays." For Josh Boyer, the bad news came on Thursday as the Miami Dolphins announced that they had relieved their Defensive Coordinator of his duties. As the week crept along, it was beginning to feel like maybe the Dolphins weren't going to make any changes to the defensive coaching staff after all. But the news many Dolphins fans expec...

Defeat. We all had a feeling it would be coming. We just didn't think it would be like this. The Dolphins fell into an early 17-0 hole in Buffalo and it seemed as if Dolphins fans were going to be in for yet another playoff blowout loss. Instead, the team turned it around and fought back, taking a lead in the third quarter and fighting until the very end in a tough, gritty 34-31 loss. The performa...

When the shorthanded Miami Dolphins were able to do just enough in Week 18 to earn a playoff berth, the hope (more so than the expectation) was that Tua Tagovailoa would clear the NFL's concussion protocol in time to return for the Wild Card round and give the Dolphins a fighting chance on the road against the Bills. Unfortunately, that was not to be. Instead, the Dolphins remain shorthanded as ro...

It was a long season with a lot of ups and downs... ...AND IT'S NOT OVER YET, BAYBAY! The Miami Dolphins earned a hard fought victory over the New York Jets in Week 18 to secure the 7th seed in the AFC Playoffs in Week 18. It wasn't pretty, but it was just what the doctor ordered following a five-game losing streak that seemed to bring fresh disappointment each week. Does the team still have holes...

Aaron flies solo, talks about letting go of expectations and disappointment, and instead embracing the opportunity in front of us to potentially make the playoffs. Oh, and he sings the song too. It's another fun episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com!

There is no way around it: the 2022 Miami Dolphins season is now just a hair away from being a complete disaster. Following an 8-3 start, the Dolphins have now lost five straight games, dropping to .500 and guaranteeing that, at best, the team can equal the 9-8 record the team reached in Brian Flores' final season as head coach. Aaron and Josh may talk about the defeat to the Patriots, but largely...

The margin for error is gone. The Dolphins remain in control of their playoff destiny, at least for now. With Tua Tagovailoa back in the concussion protocol and all but ruled out for Sunday, the Dolphins are preparing for Teddy Bridgewater to start a massive Week 17 clash in Foxboro with the New England Patriots. A loss wouldn't mean elimination for the Dolphins, but it would be a 5th straight los...

As the old saying goes, "When it rains, it pours." For the Miami Dolphins, that phrase could hardly be more true than it is now as just over 24 hours after losing their 4th consecutive game, the Dolphins announced that quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has once again entered the NFL's concussion protocol, casting his availability for Sunday's crucial Week 17 game against the Patriots in Foxboro in doubt....

Aaron and Josh return to preview the Dolphins' Christmas Day matchup with the Green Bay Packers. The Dolphins have been fortunate with results in other games going their way, so their path to the playoffs is relatively clear and straightforward: wins on Christmas vs. the Packers and in New England on New Year's Day mean they're in. In light of the wiggle room they have been afforded, Josh has a qu...

The Miami Dolphins traveled to Buffalo and put in the performance every Dolphins fan wanted, but ultimately fell just short of doing enough to win. The loss means they drop to 8-6 and find themselves embattled in the race for one of three Wild Card spots. The team still controls their own destiny, but will they right the ship and seal the deal or will they do what many Dolphins team before has don...

On the heels of what can reasonably be described as the two most disappointing performances of the season, the Miami Dolphins end The Gauntlet with a trip to Buffalo where the forecast is calling for snow. What could have been a battle for first place in the AFC East is now a fight for the Dolphins to keep their fading divisional championship hopes alive. The Dolphins are desperate to bounce back...

The Miami Dolphins lost the second game of The Gauntlet and it looked eerily similar to the first game. In their 23-17 loss to the Chargers, the Dolphins offense looked inept and seemed to have no “Plan B” when their initial game plan was being shut down. Josh flies solo to discuss the game and where it leaves the Dolphins from a micro and macro perspective in a new episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHIN...

After a disappointing performance against the 49ers, the Dolphins find themselves in position to give themselves a 97% chance to make the playoffs according to 538 – a win over the disappointing and oft-injured Chargers would set the Dolphins up nicely for their final four games.. Can Tua break the trend of disappointing performances on the road in December and January? Will the addition of Eric F...

It was a brutal day at the office for the Miami Dolphins. Tua was missing receivers and when he hit them, they were dropping to ball too often. The Dolphins didn't even try to run the ball. On defense, they couldn't slow down the 49ers, who were led for most of the day by 2022 Mr. Irrelevant, Brock Purdy. On top of all of it, Tua sustained an ankle injury, which leaves his availability for next we...

Josh is back from his brief hiatus to rejoin his brother from the exact same mother and preview the first game in a three game gauntlet that could very well define the Miami Dolphins' 2022 season. The Dolphins head to the west coast to take on the San Francisco 49ers – perhaps their toughest test since beating Buffalo in Week 3. Can the Dolphins get a huge statement win? How can they beat the 49er...

After a well-deserved bye week, the Miami Dolphins are back in action this weekend to take on the Houston Texans, now being led by Kyle Allen, who will make his first start for the team. The Dolphins largely healed up over the bye, but will be without Raheem Mostert, who is dealing with a knee injury. Will it be the Jeff Wilson, Jr show on Sunday? Can the defense have a get-right week ahead of a d...

Well, well, well...the Miami Dolphins finally put a complete game together and whooped up on Jacoby Brissett and the Cleveland Browns 39-17 behind 195 rushing yards, mostly from Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson Jr. Tua Tagovailoa added 285 yards passing and three touchdowns to lead another dominant offensive effort. The defense helped as well, largely shutting down the Browns' offense. Then, later i...

Aaron and Josh are back together in the same room to preview a sneaky big Week 10 matchup between the Browns and the Miami Dolphins. Can the defense get right against a solid Browns offense? Can the Dolphins run exploit the Browns' defensive weakness? Will Jacoby Brissett succeed against his old team? Will Tua, Waddle, and Hill stay hot? Find out what the guys think on another fun episode of THE S...

Aaron and Josh are back to discuss the Miami Dolphins going 6-3 with a 35-32 victory over the Chicago Bears! The offense continues to fire on all cylinders with Tua playing lights out, Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle on record-setting pace and new addition Jeff Wilson Jr. making an instant contribution. While the offense is on fire, the defense is still struggling, though a lot of the problems on Su...

It's been another big week for the Miami Dolphins: Victory Monday was followed by Trade Deadline Tuesday and the Dolphins acquired Bradley Chubb and a 2025 5th round pick from the Denver Broncos in exchange for a 2023 first round pick, a 2024 4th round pick, and running back Chase Edmonds. Shortly after, the Dolphins traded a 2023 5th round pick to San Francisco in exchange for running back Jeff W...

The Miami Dolphins apparently heard all the talk about how they weren't scoring enough. Led by an "en fuego" Tua Tagovailoa and what is shaping up to be the greatest NFL wide receiver pairing in NFL history, the Miami Dolphins defeated the Detroit Lions 31-27, improving to 5-3 on the season. It wasn't all good news, as Liam Eichenberg suffered an MCL injury and the team committed a plethora of dum...

Aaron the Brain goes solo to preview the Dolphins' trip to Detroit to take on the Dan Campbell-led Lions. Is there an offensive onslaught coming? Can the Dolphins keep a healing and surprisingly high-powered Lions offense in check? Find out on today's episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com!
