Send us Fan Mail Neal and Julie open by digging into Todd Achilles’ claim that he’s up double-digits on Senator Jim Risch in “latest independent polling”—and they don’t just brush it off. Neal walks through why the poll being cited (Advanced Targeting Research) raises red flags: thin transparency, unclear methodology, missing crosstabs and sponsorship disclosure, and results that don’t pass a basi...

9.18.2026 - S4C:Pierce Nielsen | LDS against Prop 1 Fallout | Open Line Friday 18.09.2026 1:29:55
Send us Fan Mail Neal and Julie kicked off the morning trying to make sense of what they see as self-inflicted political damage—using Carl Rove’s Wall Street Journal op-ed (vowing to vote Democrat in an obscure Texas Railroad Commission race) as the latest example of Republicans letting single-issue animus and “respectability” signaling override bigger strategic goals. That theme carried into Idah...

They also shifted into Risch’s work in Washington—what he thinks can realistically get done before the election,...

Send us Fan Mail Neal and Julie mixed sharp political analysis with a surprisingly creative twist—turning some of the show’s most persistent “angry texter” messages into AI-generated songs. The humor wasn’t just for laughs; it set the table for a broader conversation about how people communicate (or don’t) in today’s politics, from “prove this random YouTube link wrong” demands to the growing appe...
9.15.2026 - Julie vetoes Studio Porta-Potty | Achilles' Airport Ambush | Data Center Debate 15.09.2026 1:27:55
Send us Fan Mail Neal and Julie dug into a viral 10-second clip of Senate candidate Todd Achilles confronting (and, in their view, ambushing) Senator Jim Risch at the airport—then using the edited footage to pressure Risch into debating. They broke down why an incumbent with overwhelming name ID has little strategic incentive to debate in a non-competitive race, and why the “Risch looked scared” n...
9.14.2026 - Fair Food Recovery | AI Concerns | To Debate, or Not to Debate | Lone Juror Letdown 14.09.2026 1:27:25
Send us Fan Mail Neal and Julie bounced between politics, culture, and tech—with a very Neal opening note about a trashed PA-announcer voice after Idaho State’s win—before diving into two storylines that drove most of the conversation: the fallout from the Lindsey Clancy jury drama, and the fast-escalating local debate over Flock license plate reader cameras. On the Clancy case, Neal zeroed in on...

Send us Fan Mail With Labor Day weekend around the corner and election season heating up, Neal and Julie spent much of the show sorting through the noise—what matters, what doesn’t, and what’s being intentionally spun to rile people up. They hit several high-profile races and media narratives, including Ted Cruz’s blunt “quit your whining” message to Republicans reluctant about Ken Paxton, and the...
9.2.2026 - Social Media Silos | Idaho’s Culture Fight | Marijuana Amendment 02.09.2026 1:27:47
Send us Fan Mail Neal opens the show a little out of sync—recovering from meniscus surgery, adjusting to crutches, and owning that he hasn’t felt like he’s brought his usual “A game.” From there, the conversation turns to a brief Idaho Falls City Council statement about hate speech delivered after the Pledge of Allegiance. Neal and Julie largely agree with the sentiment, but they push back on the...

Send us Fan Mail Neal Larson and Julie Mason bounced between big-picture infrastructure debates and the creeping realities of everyday surveillance—starting with a pointed defense of data centers. They argued that as water use improves and options like modular nuclear reactors emerge, the practical objections are getting weaker, and that America risks falling behind China if we let social-media-fu...
8.31.2028 -- PROP 1 | INT: Dorothy moon | Desantis on Flock Cams | Neal's Knee Surgery 31.08.2026 1:21:21
Send us Fan Mail Neal and Julie kicked off the morning with a heavy focus on Idaho’s upcoming voter initiative (Prop 1), arguing it’s being sold as a “fix” for perceived gaps in current abortion law but would function more like a sledgehammer than a screwdriver—reshaping far more than supporters are admitting. Neal framed the stakes in cultural terms, warning that adopting a broadly pro-choice pol...

A major chunk of the hour focused on Idaho’s parental choice tax credit: Neal argued opponents are still “throwin...
8.26.2026 - INT: Barb Ehardt | Remembering Dolly | Viability Redefinition 26.08.2026 1:21:30
Send us Fan Mail Neal and Julie kicked off the morning in classic fashion—riffing on “rogue thoughts,” laughing at themselves, and then diving into a serious local flashpoint: flock cameras. They walked listeners through why law enforcement wants them (catching people with warrants, solving crimes faster) while still acknowledging legitimate worries about surveillance creep, community trust, and t...

Send us Fan Mail Neal and Julie kicked things off with a breakdown of Abdul El-Sayed’s recent TV moments—zeroing in on what Neal sees as a pattern of political “dodge-and-pivot” answers, even on questions that should be straightforward. Neal also pointed out El-Sayed’s rhetorical cadence sounding strikingly Obama-like, and they talked about why some candidates seem to prefer controlling an intervi...
8.24.2026 - INTERVIEW: WH Deputy Press Secretary Taylor Rogers | More WNBA Drama | Abortion Initiative Update 24.08.2026 1:28:11
Send us Fan Mail Neal and Julie kicked off the Monday show with a deep dive into Idaho’s upcoming abortion initiative, arguing that the ballot language—and especially the parts voters won’t hear in quick campaign soundbites—could decide everything. Neal laid out why he thinks the measure is vulnerable if voters understand the details: the legal “gray area” around parental consent, and a reworked d...
