Rilo's brought us some more hip new Gen Z tunes but the only thing we seem to be able to talk about is how the heck do we say McAlpine and have we all been saying McElroy wrong this whole time??? There have been many Batmans (Batmen, Batmi??) but to Teylor, there's one true Batman and one true Joker iteration that they love most, and it's this one, so let's talk about it! Okay yes it's not technically media BUT it at one time was full of pop culture references that were important to all of us, and also blue ice cream, it's King's Island! Well, it took us three whole tries to get this episode finished and out to you all, but it's worth it to get to talk about Miley and all her eras for an hour. And also to expose all the lies Rileigh's family told her as a child about their "celebrity encounters." It's always special when we can take a week to watch something or listen to something that was exceptionally meaningful to one of our siblings, and that was definitely what we got to do this week, so come join in on some of the special moments shared during this show about a very special band. Sydnee had an interesting choice of movie for her first ever date (and our dad was there too) so of course we all had to take a look back at it together. Like all 90s movies it has some...interesting takes, but if you like doggies and baseball apparently this is the film for you. This show blew up and broke the internet for a couple of weeks, so of course we had to revisit the world's favorite ooky and spooky family and take a week to talk all about Wednesday!  Music: "Baby You Change Your Mind" by Nouvellas Help support this show and unlock bonus content! To round out the year of 2022 and the holiday season, it's time for that classic holiday (?) film featuring all the holiday (?) goo you could ask for, it's Gremlins! It's time to dive into another holiday classic that somehow we have never talked about before: Home Alone! Also, since the holidays are the time of year to share your most controversial opinions with family, we all decided that meant it was time to share our controversial Home Alone opinions with each other, obviously. It's the most wonderful time of the year once again: the one where our screens and streaming services are jam-packed with holiday movies full of the cliches we know and love so well. Without a Vanessa Hudgens holiday movie with several versions of Vanessa Hudgens to watch this season, our siblings had to turn to the next best option on Netflix: one with Lindsay Lohan and that guy from Glee! Music:...

How did Sydnee and Rileigh not know that their middle sibling was friends with a super cool and famous band and hosted shows for them in their living room back in the day?? They don't know how they missed this band, but they sure are glad to be talking about them now just in time for their most recent album! Apparently Rileigh was only aware of silly goofy movie dad Adam Sandler, while our older Smirl siblings were fully aware of young, romantic lead, SNL Adam Sandler, so of course they had to expose Rileigh to him walking down an airplane aisle singing because...who wouldn't want that??? Once again, it's that magical time of year where our littlest sibling gets to force her big sibs to listen to an entire Taylor Swift album and then listen to her talk about it for 45 minutes. And of course that means we have to talk about that TOUR. Music: "Baby You Change Your Mind" by Nouvellas Help support this show and unlock bonus content! Rounding out our month of spook is a horror cult classic brought to us by our resident spooky movie sibling expert: Teylor! Tey's sisters had never heard of this one before, so it was up to them to introduce them to this Frankenstein-ish world of early 2000s good for her body horror.  Music: "Baby You Change Your Mind" by Nouvellas Help support this show and unlock bonus content! It's still spooky season, so we're still deep in the spooky movie genre! This week, we're sticking with Sarah Michelle Gellar and looking back at that classic teen slasher complete with hooks and haircuts and Janny Jaleckies! While not technically a spooky movie, Do Revenge is Rileigh's newest obsession, and it's the classic teen girl, rom-com, mashup of the century. Also, teenagers are scary enough, so I think that counts as a spooky season movie. Music: "Baby You Change Your Mind" by Nouvellas Help support this show and unlock bonus content! It's spooky season! In celebration of this wonderful time of year, we at Still Buffering always take a couple weeks to celebrate the spooky and scary media that make this season even better. To start, we're looking back at the original Hunger Games, Battle Royale! CW: This movie contains violence and suicide, and we discuss the contents of the movie in some detail. For an exhaustive list of possib...

We know our oldest Smirl sibling has a thing for sequels, but this time Sydnee is having us jump right into number 2 in the Sister Act series. From the fashion trends to the relatability for every show choir/theatre kid, it just made sense for the siblings to get Back in the Habit and dive into Sister Act 2! If you know us, you know how much we love messy reality shows on Netflix, and especially when they include dating or sibling teamwork. So, when we saw Netflix had made a show that FINALLY combines both, well, we had to watch it and talk about it. It seems like culturally we're all once again looking at Brendan Frasier, so why not take it back to one of his older movies that maybe didn't get all the same hype as the Mummy: Airheads! Also, Steve Buscemi is up in there too so we kinda HAD to. Music: "Baby You Change Your Mind" by Nouvellas Help support this show and unlock bonus content! Since we decided last week it's basically already fall, it's time to set the cozy mood with some music, and who better to help out than Carole King? Although, we did discover this week Sydnee has some weird personal affiliations with these songs...but they're still amazing, obviously. We've talked about Scream before, but one of our favorite horror franchises just keeps coming back for more, so obviously we had to talk about the newest one! Featuring radicalized Gen Z horror fanatics, old favorite characters, and a weird ghost/computer generated Billy Loomis, this Scream iteration truly has it all.  Music: "Baby You Change Your Mind" by Nouvellas Help support this show and unlo...

It's time to go deep into the world of female friendship, living in New York City, and (once again) how unrealistic those apartments in Friends were, because we're talking all about Broad City! It's the sports movie that makes everyone (well, really mostly Sydnee, if we're being honest) cry every single time without fail, and just in time, because it's getting the reboot treatment this year, as well! It's the newest streaming hit that is spilling all the tea on how Gen Z actually is using social media, what influencer parties are like, and why guinea pigs sometimes cause social media mayhem, and we're all obsessed with it, so let's talk about it!
