Andrew Holt thinks the best eating experience you will ever get is Wagyu steak. He works for Carrfields, and they’ve partnered with NZ Wagyu to help organise the breeding of Wagyu-cross calves, then rearing them up for grazers to take on.  He’s the North Island Wagyu Co-ordinator and sees nothing but opportunities in this space for dairy farmers, rearers, and grazers...

Time now to see what’s shaking in the rural print media; Jackie Harrigan from Dairy Exporter Magazine

How do we reduce harm on the farm? This is a topic dear to the heart of our next guest Lindy Nelson.  She’s a farmer in the Wairarapa, and the Chair of Safer Farms - an organisation that brings together farmers, and senior leaders from agribusiness, industry groups, and government…  Their current focus is reducing injuries to children and teens on farm,  and you can get involved too!

Greg Parkes is the Head Livestock Buyer for Taylor Preston, It sources stock right across the lower North Island and also over the Strait, from the South Island. Greg’s also involved in farming in his own right, so you could say he’s involved right along the chain; from paddock to plate.

Patrick should probably be swotting for the Young Farmer of the Year Grand Final, but he’s kindly taken time out to chat...

Sally Peter is a powerhouse of energy who farms on the coast of Marlborough with her husband Rob. Sally joins us now to tell us about this place and the East Coast Protection Group she helped form, to protect the beach ecosystem.

The rumours are true - Andrew Hoggard is running for Act. He left his post as Fed Farmers President this week and is now looking to become the next MP for Rangitīkei. We caught up with him earlier in the week, but Dom had Andrew back on REX Today after his candidacy was announced.

New research has found New Zealand’s policy of allowing fossil fuel emitters to offset all their greenhouse gas emissions by planting trees is at odds with the rest of the world…  And researchers have found it’s having a damaging impact on the agricultural sector and rural communities…  REX Today host Dom George caught up with Beef & Lamb NZ CEO Sam McIvor to find out more about the Internatio...
