Let the Prophets Speak

Jereboam held so much promise, but he failed spectacularly. He attempts to cheat God with a silly disguise, but the prophet doesn't fall for this.

An old prophet in Beit El tricks the junior prophet into partaking of a meal with him, which leads to a tragic event. Ultimately though, the prophecy of the elder prophet learns that the prophecy regarding Jereboam's temples was true.

God sends a prophet to Jereboam's new temple who predicts the ultimate destruction of this new temple. Jereboam refuses to heed the message of the prophet.

Rehoboam flees for his own safety as his tax collector is stoned, and the prophet Shemayah averts an all out civil war. Jereboam sets up his new kingdom on a very dangerous path.

Rehoboam is crowned King in place of his father, and he is presented with his first challenge. He chooses the wrong advisors, and embarks on a dangerous path.

We meet Jereboam, who receives a prophecy that he will become king of the ten tribes that will split Solomon's Kingdom. He escapes to Egypt as Solomon seeks to have him executed.

Solomon succumbs to the temptations posed by his many foreign wives, and the Kingdom begins to fall apart.

Solomon's continues to accumulate wealth. Gold, silver, chariots and horses are plentiful and the emphasis on wisdom, justice and righteousness starts to take a back seat.

The Queen of a faraway land called Sheba visits Solomon to learn if he is truly as wise as his reputation.

God accepts Solomon's prayer, but issues a stern warning. The Temple will only stand if the people follow My ways! We see the fine cracks begin to develop revealing the potential weaknesses of Solomon's kingdom.

No matter where the people of Israel may find themselves, we are always to focus our prayers on the Temple in Jerusalem. In order that the entire world learn of God and accept the One and Only God.

Solomon presents the purpose of the Temple as a house of prayer for all nations. A place to repent, a place to seek justice, a place to pray.

The final act necessary in the building of the Temple is complete when the ark is placed in the Holy of Holies. Solomon begins his dedicatory address to the people on this auspicious occasion.

Hiram builds the "Sea of Solomon", the lavers and their stands, and the all Temple vessels are complete.

Solomon's royal complex is built, along with a spectacular "house of the Lebanon forest". We also read of the great bronze worker, Hiram of Tyre and the two magnificent columns he built.

We read of the construction of the Cherubs, and carvings and incredible beauty and detail of the Temple interior.

The culmination of the process of the exodus from Egypt, receiving the Torah at Sinai, and entering the land of Israel reaches its apex. But an ominous warning from God tells of the future.

Solomon signs a treaty with Hiram the King of Tyre, and the work of chopping wood and hewing stone for the Temple begins.

As the nation under Solomon enjoys prosperity, Solomon turns to science, art and wisdom. The world flocks to Solomon's kingdom to learn and study.

Solomon sets up an efficient system of governance, appoints officials, and the land is prosperous and united.

When confronted with a seemingly unresolvable dilemma, King Solomon finds a way to a just resolution by listening to the cries of two women.

As he takes his place on the throne, Solomon humbly asks God, not for wealth or military might, but for the wisdom to be a just king.

Solomon eliminates all the major threats to his kingdom and secures his place upon the throne.

David instructs Solomon to follow he path of the Torah of Moses and to remain loyal to God. He then advises him of some unfinished business he needs to resolve in order to stabilize his rule.

Solomon is anointed as David's successor and the people are overjoyed. Adoniyah fears for his life and seeks refuge at the altar. Solomon pardons Adoniyah on the condition that he no longer cause any trouble.
