There is a new king in town and He is the Son of God. Jesus has brought the kingdom of God to Earth, What Mark is telling us is that because Jesus (the king) has come He has a new kingdom with which beckons us to turn away from our sins.

  Jesus is proclaiming that He is the One who exercises authority even over the rules and regulations that govern the Sabbath day. As such, Jesus was proclaiming to the world, especially to the legalistic Pharisees, that He was greater than the Law and above the laws of the Mosaic Covenant because, as God in the flesh, He is the Author of those laws.

You may ask yourself, what did Jesus mean when he said " can the wedding guests fast while the bridegroom is still with them? Jesus is making a point here, that fasting during the wedding feast is pointless. In this story Jesus is the bridegroom, while He is present in this world, it is a time of celebration because He is the fulfilment of their Messianic prophecies.

  This is a story about a lame man whose friends believed that Jesus could heal him. At last they found a way to get their friend before Jesus by opening the roof and letting him down by ropes attached to his bed. But Jesus didn’t heal the man’s lameness He forgave his sins. We often create lines of who is worthy to be welcomed by Jesus and who is not. we think surely a murderer and a fraudster cannot be saved perhaps a philanthropist. What we see here is that the tax collectors 'Levi' who were disliked for financially enslaving/impoverishing their own people are welcomed by Jesus. this is not a great look for Jesus and the Pharisees are appalled by his mercy.
