God calls Abram to leave his home behind and receive the promise of a significant future. Abram is a great example for us in how to handle the ‘in between’ periods when we wait to see God’s promises fulfilled in our lives. Passage: Genesis 11:31-32; 12:1-8 Series: Genesis Speaker: Claire

Noah and his family disembark. God renews his commission to 'multiply and fill the earth.' It's a promising new start but will it last? Passage: Genesis 10:1-11:9 Series: Genesis Speaker: Rick

Evil and sin have grown to epidemic levels, but because of God's great love, he is not content to just sit back and let society self-destruct. We can trust that we have a God who sees the evil around in the world, we know He cares about it and we can be certain He will deal with it. Passage: Genesis 6-7 Series: Genesis Speaker: Sam

In Genesis 4 we are provided with a couple of case studies of humanity's dramatic spiral away from God's blueprint for life in the garden of Eden. Cain's distress at God's apparent disfavour opens a door for the sins of jealousy and resentment, resulting in the murder of his brother Abel. Lamech's covetousness and pride leads to his vengeful boasts. Hope is found in Jesus, descendant of Seth, who...

We take two key themes from Genesis - broken relationships and lack of trust in God - and explore how these play out across the Old Testament, before seeing how Jesus shows us the way to repair the damage of the Fall.  Passage: Genesis, Exodus, Deuteronomy, 1 Samuel, 1 Kings, Matthew Series: Genesis Speaker: Tim & Bekah

The following sermon explores the fall of Adam and Eve, the breaking of perfectly designed relationships, and Jesus Christ's fulfilment of the first messianic prophecy. Within this sermon we also discuss how Jesus' death and resurrection has ultimately redeemed us from the fall. Passage: Genesis 3:1-24 Series: Genesis Speaker: Tim & Sulay

In 8 amazing verses we have God’s blueprint – we are made for relationships. Humanity works best when humanity is working together, serving and building towards God’s good works on the earth. This has its out-workings in marriage and family, of course. But it is also apparent in how we do community together and the church community is to reflect our journeying back to the blueprint. Passage: Genes...

The tree of the knowledge of good and evil in the garden of Eden presents humanity with a choice between trusting God, or choosing to do things their own way. This is a choice that is repeated throughout the Bible, and one that we find ourselves faced with today. Passage: Gen 2:4-17; Matthew 4:1-11; 1 Kings 19:11-13 Series: Genesis Speaker: Jamie

Genesis 1 teaches that all of humanity is made in the image of God, with an overarching task - to reflect and represent his glory in all the earth - and royal duties to deliver within his divine remit. We’re a bit like middle-managers - taking on responsibility within our own area of life under his sponsorship and direction. Passage: Genesis 1: 24-31 Series: Genesis Speaker: Mark

The creation story shows us a God of pattern: creating order out of chaos, light from darkness and paints a picture of how God both formed and filled the earth. What life-giving patterns do you see in your days, weeks and years? Are your days ‘God-breathed’? The Genesis account of creation shows us how to live in a pattern of work and rest - and tells us that this is good. Passage: Genesis 1:1-2:3...

What is the mysterious book of Genesis all about? Why is it so important for us to read? In this sermon we look at the history, context and themes of Genesis as well as exploring how we go about approaching the interpretation of such a complex text in a faithful and Gospel-centred way. Series: Genesis Speaker: Bekah

Missio Dei - the mission or sending of God! The Holy Spirit is on a rescue mission. When Jesus ascended he promised not to leave us as orphans, yet often in life we feel alone and like we're left to fend for ourselves. The Holy Spirit walks alongside us today like how Jesus walked alongside his disciples in the first century, but we can often find communication with Him difficult. So what does this relationship look like and how do we communicate with Him? Passage: John 14:15-18,...

In Romans 8 Paul tells us that God’s rescue plan isn’t finished. One day we will be restored to our full glory along with all of creation. Until then, we have the Holy Spirit to guide us and prepare us for this perfect creation and to give us our ‘first fruits’ of the glory to come. Passage: Romans 8 Series: The Holy Spirit Speaker: Tim Holy-spirit icons created by Freepik - Flaticon

What is the big story of the Bible itself? What is God’s rescue plan for creation through history and what does it mean for us today? Speakers: Tim & Bekah

Today we look at the “settling Spirit” focussing on how the Holy Spirit settles on Jesus and invites us into that friendship. We look at John’s Gospel and how the author wants to paint a picture of how we can expect more from being drawn into an intimate relationship with God through the Holy Spirit. Passage: John 14:15-20 Series: The Holy Spirit Speaker: Bekah Holy-spirit icons created by Freepik...

In this sermon we look at the work of the Holy Spirit in the Old Testament through the promise the prophet Joel puts to the Jewish people. We look at this exciting “out pouring” of the Holy Spirit to all people and what it can mean for us today as recipients of the Spirit’s blessings. Passage: Joel 2:26-30 Series: The Holy Spirit Speaker: Bekah Holy-spirit icons created by Freepik - Flaticon

We see divine acceleration in Acts as missionaries from Cyprus and Cyrene pushed beyond the boundaries and took the gospel to the Greeks in Antioch. God is wanting to bring divine acceleration in each of us - there's always more, more growth, more opportunities. He's looking for acceleration in pioneering as we are 'dreamers who do' (acting on the dreams he gives us). Finally, we are looking for d...
