We broke down and inserted another coin to enable two player mode. That’s right, we went and dual reviewed the Double Dungeons Dragon movie. Or maybe we just went and saw The Super Mario Bros Movie[2023]. In spite of all the internet whinging that Chris Prat was voicing Mario which was surely a sign of how the west has fallen and millions must die. What can we really say about it? It’s an Illumina...

Welcome to another episode of Mango Pulse where we consume and rate the world’s favorite fruit. We recently tackled the controversy of Kent mangoes and the low score received by Randy’s Fruit Stand. We stick by our opinion that they’re a little biased because they get ready access to the host’s orchard of Tommy Atkins, a notoriously finicky but rewarding variety. Stepping aside from controversy, t...

Hey there everyone, have you ever just felt so good? Like really so good? Like that the sun could go nova and wipe all life off the face of the earth and leave only the smolderiest of craters where only politicians and cans of RC cola survive and you just feel great anyway? It may or may not be because we found an errant package of cocaine recovered from a southern state after making a pilgrimage...

Then in the industry news Andrew is quitting Anime Pulse to become a pro Birdie...

Long days ago, when the nights were long and the game was slim. Great bookstores used to roam this land. We hunted them for their manga collections. Kodansha, Yen Press, even the lesser Tokyo Pop. All were plentiful. Something has changed and now we scavenge a barren land for the remains of those we used to hunt. Weltall has a revisit of Pansuto. You might recall that being the manga were the lose...

Then in the industry news some voice actors were left grossed out b...

Captain, I’m getting readings of life from the planet below. Looks like it’s some sort of movie based society. They appear to consume a type of grass seed which has been heated until the moisture inside escapes. This is then given a fine coating of a churned animal fat, derived from their local cattle. It also appears as though this is consumed in ritual fashion while watching movie of any quality...

Bubble trouble? Prepare for muggle and make is subtle. It doesn’t make a whole lot of sense but we’ve already used the Team Rocket speech in an intro as well as quoting the witches from Macbeth. Also coupons and buy one get one free. It’s been hell of a week and we just sort of phone it in once in awhile. Plus, how many of you read this anyway? Cue angry emails about everyone who actually sees the...

Afte...

You know what makes a movie work? Like really, really work? Is it well directed acting? A strong sense of shot composition or perhaps lighting? No, you film school snob. What makes a movie good is having a long dead pan voice over which lays out the setup and premise. Lucky for use there’s a great movie in Red Planet[2000]. The year is sometime in the future and something about climate or disease...

Everyone likes to save a buck here and there. Some people do that by reusing things like sandwich bags. Others will take trips to the outlet mall and stock up on irregulars. To that end, you should stock up on our irregular reviews. By that we mean imperfect and not off of a proper schedule. Though we do sometimes have scheduling changes. Because we are imperfect but we try harder. Tim has Galaxy...

This week on Anime Pulse we got Big Brother sushi, a surprising pick of a favorite character, and the series we are befuddled that have not received an anime adaptation. Up first Joseph hurts all over because he spent a couple hours shoveling snow, and Andrew is feeling a bit lethargic. Then in the industry news we morn the passing of a true great in the vtubing community due to twitter idiocracy,...

Alright ladies. Get your makeup on, your teeth polished, and your tits waxed. Except you, Miss Sicily. You’re just doing what you can with what god gave you. While we’re waiting for them to get their act together, we’ve got a movie in the vein of the beauty industry. We’ve got the mockumentary, Drop Dead Gorgeous(1999). It’s centered on a small town’s beauty contest that feeds into a larger nation...

This week on Anime Pulse we got an end to endless cookies, preventative maintenance, and a very mid summoner. Up first Joseph is ready to enjoy a three day weekend as he has the suspension in his car replaced, and Andrew is asking us what our least and most favorite instances of Deus Ex in anime are. Then in the industry news we cover topics like the passing of another great anime and manga author...

After the news we go over the disc...

How many organs do people need actually? If you know and are some sort of organ expert, we need your feedback. Apparently the local prosecutor has decided that local children and obnoxious adults need ALL of them. They were clearly not using them based on their social media post history. When you repost MLM scams you’re signaling to the world that your kidneys are free to a good home. Onto the man...

Before the made for streaming movies there were made for TV movies. Those still exist if you count Hallmark and other channels. Most are crap but every once in a while someone would put a nice modest budget together and see what happens. Which is how we got The Park Is Mine(1985) from HBO. We open with a man at the top of a hospital, yelling about no one listening. He jumps to his death. In comes...

This week on Anime Pulse we got a really expensive Pokemon card, disappointing potlucks, and more dropped anime. Up first Joseph is debating participating in the next company potluck at his offline job, and Andrew pulls through on putting a community question out before the day of the podcast managing to get some real responses.
