Leaving Sargun after a generous breakfast from friendly hotel owners, the walkers reflect on how small comforts — like hot water — shape the Camino experience. A shorter 16 km day felt tougher, and today they face 20 km to El Burgo Ranero across flat, agricultural terrain.

Day 24 on the Camino: a 22–23 km day dominated by a long 17 km stretch across the flat Meseta with icy tailwinds, passing tractors and a repetitive landscape. The group stocked up at a small supermarket, kept extra water and snacks, and refueled with peri‑peri drenched chips at a roadside albergue.

Day 23 - Camino Frances: Fromista to Carrion de los Condes 22.03.2026

Day 23: walking from Fromista to Carrión de los Condes. We stop for a riverside lunch with baguettes while tractors amusingly circle around. The day felt manageable at about 19 km, though detours took us closer to 22 km.

Day 22 of the Camino: a 25 km walk from Castrojeriz to Frómista featuring a steep climb up an 'alto', wide panoramic views of valleys, windmills and distant villages, and a hot, dry day across the Meseta.
