Wait... Where's Spock?

In this week's episode, Amaya and Mat GUSH about all things Lwaxana Troi, play "Rewrite the Episode" for probably too long, and come away, at last, with real joy about what must be the best episode yet of Season One.

In this week's episode, Amaya and Mat must overcome not just the trauma of a returning Q, but many multiple traumas, including faux-infanticide, faux-Klingonicide, and...the 'Chadisisation' of Wesley! And it wouldn't be an early Next Gen episode without some inappropriate and weird Roddenberriesque sex stuff, of course! SO much going on here. Come on in, the water is ewwwww!

On today's episode, Amaya and Mat decide they know what's best and re-write this entire ST: TNG episode on the fly, making it SO much better, and along the way discuss the controlling architectural idea of "The Jetsons" and its relationship to "Star Trek" model building, and we see a return of Mat's favourite TNG bugbear: the Ferengi as 'Space Jews'.

In this week's episode, Amaya and Mat beam down to NAKED PEOPLE SEX WORLD...which is decidedly lacking in actual sex, in an episode that doesn't seem to have anything at all to do with sex. It's more about the importance of reading the signs, keeping off the grass, and taking the easy way out - which we certainly DON'T do in this episode.

In this week's episode, Amaya and Mat discover, in fact, that the loneliest place might be an episode of television for which nobody feels enough even to dislike! Still, there are highlights: Riker and a shiny, green whip...and the first appearance proper of everyone's favourite Irish transporter chief!

In today's episode, Amaya and Mat board the Enterprise as a Starfleet Tight-tunic and his definitely not groomer alien buddy attempt to take the ship to places it has never been before...like inappropriate relations between an impressionable young man and a googly-eyed, three-fingered 'stranger danger'. Plus, bonus Wesley couture chat!

Amaya and Mat discover the glory that is...the FERENGI!...but it all ends up being about ANOTHER omnipotent God (meaning: stand-in for white male saviour figure). We discuss the blast radius of Ferengi electric whips, MORE Picard child hatred...and are the Ferengi merely cyphers...for the Jewish people?!...

In today's episode, Amaya and Mat initially struggle to say "Boy! This episode is SUPER racist!" but eventually get over it to say "Boy! This episode REALLY is SUPER racist!", as well as pass judgment on some super stylish combat-wear, and make a deep digression into the finer points of 2003's "School of Rock".

In this episode, Amaya and Mat revisit a familiar infection, except this time there's actual nakedness, as they contemplate whether this one was just too early - and waaaaaaaaay too sex-focused - so early in the show's history, as well as why you need an android that's "fully functional"?!
