The VonDubCast

Back for his second appearance Uncle Hack came in hot and didn't slow down for three hours of straight cancellable debauchery with the boys! We chatted Stand Up in canada, cbc, fake articles, Trudeau and plenty more.  I have to say a huge thank you to Hack for singing me up for my first stand up show after we talked last, its been a wild journey and im so glad he was the one to force my first...

As always the Nick and Jayde podcast is full of surprises.  This time we talk about finding motivation, Jayde seeing Nick do stand up for the first time, as well as a Jayde reeling in her first catfish.  We also catch up on all the happenings in our lives these past couple weeks and try to find the lessons in the hardships as we love to do. We may not have solved all of our problems but sometimes...

First off apologies for the delays on the OU episodes but its definitely worth the wait for content like this! The boys hopped on for quicky pod before puck drop against the Leafs.  We broke down the Ekholm deal, how we see it changing the scope of the oilers overall and how fair the return was to get him.  Nowhere will you get this type of in-depth Oilers breakdown along with this many laughs.  O...

HELL YEAH!!! Today we have one of the funniest guys to ever grace the cover of CTV it is none other than the legend Brendan Washbern! Brendan burst onto the Edmonton comedy scene from BC a few months back and absolutely tore it a new bunghole before he scurried back to BC.  I guess we will never know if Brendan couldn't hand Edmonton or if Edmonton just couldn't take the Beeeeeern.  Eith...

We are back with a little solo episode to break down the amazing family trip to Banff and getting back on the ski hill. I also talk about the new Netflix show on the PGA tour, the upcoming Just For Laughs showcase and how everyone around the Edmonton comedy scene is preparing, and as always some serious MMA Talk right at the end so you can skip if you don't like it! I also had to breakdown ho...

Today's guest is one of the funniest new comedians in the Edmonton comedy scene and wouldn't you know it he is also one of the nicest as well!  We chop it up about comedy, trucking, Star Trek and so much more.  I wanted to have Art on from the first time I saw him do stand up at the first year comedy competition.  Not only did he win it but he smoked the rest of us by a good margin and h...

The people asked for it and we delivered! Lars is back on the podcast for his third time and its a juicy one! Lars was the first comedian I ever had on the podcast all those years ago and it was so fascinating having these conversations before and after trying stand up.  The first two conversations were between a real comedian and just a diehard comedy fan and they were great.  This episode is pre...

Okay quick note before getting into todays guest description, I will be performing on Wed the 15th at @comicstripwem I am super excited about it and would love it if people wanted to come watch! I know its during an Oilers game but beggars can't be choosers! Now that that business is out of the way, what can I say about todays guest that hasn't already been said? She is extraordinarily t...

Yo yoooo! We are back with another awesome episode of the Vondubcast with the talented Liam Connel! Liam Started comedy in Lethbridge and is now a staple of the Edmonton comedy scene.  You can catch him all over the city doing shows when he isn't working in film helping bring the magic to the silver screen!  Come hear all about both comedy film and even a healthy dose of MMA at the end for my...

Today Nick and Jayde are back on the mic's catching up after the three week hiatus in between the inaugural episode of the Nick and Jayde Podcast.  Since the name change/rebrand happened after recording that episode we have a small chat about what the show is going to look like now that Jayde has full control to make it what she wants.  Please send in any segment ideas  our way and be a part...

It's that time of year again when the NHL storylines are solidifying and the excitement for playoffs starts to build! We figured it was the perfect time to bring in our Eastern Conference correspondent Fraser Oliver to discuss the League as it stands today, who we think is going to do damage in the playoffs and who is phonier than a 3 dollar bill.  As always when the three of us get together...

I had the amazing opportunity to host my first comedy show at the world famous @comicstripwem this Tuesday and it was such a special night I knew I had to do a podcast on it! From the very first time I tried standup I was obsessed with hosting.  It looked like so much fun to orchestrate a show and set up your fellow comics to have the best sets possible.  Unfortunately it takes a long time to get...

Todays guest is a legend in the Edmonton comedy scene and has been one of the nicest most supportive people to me since the day I met him.  It is my greta pleasure to introduce to y'all, my boy, Dan Brodrib.  Dan has recently returned to comedy after a multi year hiatus and even though he has more seniority than most fo the comedy scene he still treats everyone like his equal and gives some o...

Yes we are aware the Oilers lost a stinker to the worst team in the league mere hours after we recorded this. Yes we are aware we did not break the reverse retro curse. Yes we are aware that whenever we talk shit about them the oilers do amazing and whenever we sing their praises they shit the bed. Now that we have that out of the way..... We are back with an amazing episode of Oilers Uncensored. ...

People have been loving the solo episodes a ton lately and I've wanted to do more and more of them to give the people what they want but I had been struggling to find my voice.  This episode felt so damn good to just drop into the flow and speak from the heart. Life is full of ups and downs and I love nothing more than talking it out with all of you listeners.  It may not be therapy but it su...

Todays guest is one of the best up and coming comedians in the city. He was raised on the mean streets of St. Albert and is now shredding rooms all over Alberta with his jokes.  We chatted all about comedy, podcasting, A.I. and all sorts of other topics but my personal favourite topic was college basketball.  Noah has a such a deep passion for it that it immediately hooked me and I've never h...

If you weren't able to join us for the livestream on twitch last night here is the episode in its entirety.  Definitely felt a little weird podcasting live but I'm very excited to keep practicing and explore the new facets live stream podcasts bring.  I talked about a podcast that is yet to be released with local comic Noah Brodeur about how excited I am for the conversation to be out ou...

Today we welcome Kale Hancock back onto the podcast to hear first hand how his experience in Residence at the UofA has gone after his first semester.  This episode is packed with wisdom for anyone going through university, getting ready to soon or debating on wether or not it is right for them.  We discuss the social aspects (obviously lol), coursework, study habits, dating, extracurriculars, test...

After almost a months hiatus the Oilers Uncensored crew is back! There was so much to discuss that I don't even know where to start, Woodcroft, leadership, penalty kill, playoff chances, officiating, Bedard, defensive woes, the Christmas 5-8 record since we last recorded as well as some mma tidbits and funny stories from the minor hockey days.  As always the podcast ping pongs between hardcor...

As you may have noticed the podcasts me and Jayde have been recording under the banner of The NVW show has received a little name change! The NVW show was always supposed to be a live-streamed show that developed with input from the  viewers and involved current events form a producer type on all of my favourite subjects. I still want to make that show someday but todays episode was so impactful a...

The VDC is back with a vengeance with todays guest Ahmed Ahmed! He is a staple of the Edmonton comedy scene and wears the crown of "funniest dude in sandals" with the gravitas of a king!  Ahmed has lived a crazy life and you can hear all about it in this conversation. If you enjoy please give Ahmed a follow on instagram @ahmed_ahmed_the_comic and let him know you found him here.  Ahmed i...

A very merry Christmas and a happy new year to all of you beautiful people! Courtney had the awesome idea to run me through the year end review journal prompts she has been doing for the last 4 years and see what kind of things it would bring up!  I was getting over a sickness so I wasn't as sharp as I would have liked to be but for a half sick impromptu podcast I though it was pretty damn gr...

For some reason I struggle to be vocal about how awesome I think this podcast is, often to my own detriment.  Having said that.....todays episode f***in slaps! I did not know what I was getting into with todays guest, Brooklyn Blue, as I reached out on a whim knowing next to nothing about her. We then proceeded to do 3 hours of some of the most compelling podcasting I've witnessed in my previ...

The boys are back and we had both our dogs in the studio so it was a madhouse! We break down the Minnesota home and home split as well as the thorough trouncing of Nashville on Tuesday. We also cover Ovi's 800, snapshow goalies, Hyman, Tage Thompson, Yamo's return, Skinner/Campbell, Nuge being huge and so much more!  This is probably the last in studio episode of the year as Nick is head...

Today we have a wonderfully positive and bubbly guest in my fellow fledgling comedian Alex Jocko!  I love talking to comics that have been at it for years and years because there is always so much to learn but its also a blast to have a fellow baby comedian on to talk about navigating this new world.  Alex is a super positive lady that I had a blast getting to know better.  We talked about comedy,...
