Whether followers of Jesus are dreaming in wide-eyed wonder or lamenting with groans within, we spend a lot of time talking about “what” the Church should be. But there’s a deeper transformative question that is screaming for our attention: HOW has the Church that defies Hell been called to operate? In this deeply practical message, Pastor Chuck moves past merely the inspirational imagining of a c...

It is incredible to look at the vast diversity within humanity. We have radically different gifts and passions. When we see the array of needs on the planet, we find ourselves moved by different ‘burdens’ or problems we feel we MUST join as part of the solution. In a culture that often demands conformity ‘or else’ (everyone has to equally value everything), what if God was doing something profound...

Throughout Jesus’ life and ministry, one mission continually poured from His lips. He came to establish the Kingdom of Heaven on the Earth. In Matthew 16, He opened up a secret to the disciples…and to us. His strategy for establishing the Kingdom was a FAMILY He would birth called, “The Church.” In an age of much hurt, disillusionment, and confusion, the CHURCH is still Jesus’ Body and His Bride....

There’s a largely undiagnosed spiritual condition affecting most of the population that could only be classified as “Restless Soul Syndrome.” Why do we struggle so much with stillness and silence? Why do we over-exert our schedules, sapping our physical energy and taxing our emotional ability to actually be present? Why do we get caught up in seemingly endless comparisons and in relational drama?...

Selah moments create a substantial opportunity for our hearts and minds to pivot and align with what is being revealed through the Holy Spirit. Pivot is both a noun and a verb. It is an anchoring and a turning. This week we look at the pivotal moments from 1 Samuel 17 that led up to David defeating the giant.

The Holy Spirit has things he really wants us to "GET." This week, as we continue in our Selah series, we submit ourselves to the Holy Spirit prompts found in Psalm 32. David's words are intended to help us align rightly with the abundant provision, grace, and goodness God has made available to us!

Are we our brothers' keeper? How far am I to go for my fellow man? Genesis 2:8 says that after God placed breath in the nostrils of man, that he planted a garden in Eden, and there he placed man. He placed man in position and with a purpose. When he planted that garden in Eden, he also planted something in man that he was to steward and cultivate, to fill it and govern it, to tend it and guard it....

In Luke 21, Jesus talked candidly with His followers about the state of current events, the economy, coming natural disasters, the broken systems in religion that have to fall, and even the Day He will once again part the clouds to take us to be with Him forever. But what is amazing is this: while these current events tend to fill the landscape of our conversations and our energy, Jesus gave us th...

It’s Mother’s Day…and in this message, Pastor Chuck calls the Church of the Living God to CELEBRATE and ELEVATE the daughters of the King to their rightful place at the table alongside their brothers by looking at 3 of the most significant people in the life of Jesus: Mary of Bethany, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the Mother of Jesus. The beautiful invitation their lives release before their sisters an...

For all of us, there are presently places we can SEE beautiful truths about God, love, life, and ourselves…and for ALL of us, there are places we cannot yet see. In this message, Pastor Chuck dives into Mark 8 in Jesus’ only recorded progressive miracle to point us to three places He’s inviting us to SEE in these days where we live between Jesus’ first and final touch!

There is a grace to grieving and a depth that can be accessed on this side of heaven through our lament. In this message, Pastor Chuck invites several friends to powerfully minister hope in the midst of the bitter things in life: with God, ourselves, and others — and invites us to meet Jesus in Gethsemane (the oil press) where His anointing is ready to pour out!

Cultural Christianity could be defined as anywhere we redefine the target of life with Jesus OR anywhere we realign our beliefs and practices to mirror our SOCIETY more than our SAVIOR. In Matthew 15, Jesus confronts cultural Christianity from both the religious leaders and even His own disciples — and He invites us out of the extremes that would seek to weaken our faith or weaponize it…all the wa...

EVERY athlete who has ever tasted greatness made a decision that there was a destiny awaiting them that was worthy of the perseverance, sacrifices, and hard work before them. They allowed a vision of what “could” be to BURN in them greater than any excuses, setbacks, discouragements or limitations. And they did it all for a prize that was fading, where we get to run after the eternally magnificent...

When did evangelism in the American Church become so strategic? As believers, we often prefer to employ strategies rather than implore the Spirit of God to lead us. This has caused us to rely on human effort. And human effort produces a glory that fades. We need a Spirit-empowered obedience that compels us with boldness, "to GO into ALL the world and preach the Gospel to everyone!" (Mark 16:15) In...

The first step to joining any team is registration day. It’s when you go to the info meeting and hear what it means to be part of the team. It’s where you see the practice and game schedule, the needed equipment and personal commitment…it's where you pay the cost, get your jersey, and find your place on the roster. In the last several hundred years, the local church has been a “team” of a few exci...

Some people approach holiness as if it is a monument: some historical event of an aisle they walked or a prayer they prayed that checked off the needed boxes. Others tend to treat it as a moment, longing for their burning bush encounter when Jesus will magically fix everything and they will ride off into the sunset, ‘happily ever after.’ But what if true holiness can’t be contained by either of th...

On several occasions before healing someone, Jesus asked a critical question: “What do you want me to do for you?” The starting line of wholeness and the birthplace of revival are both re-awakening desire: “What do you want?” In this message, Pastor Chuck shares the message of Jacob’s struggles with an orphan spirit that kept him wrestling everywhere grace called him to rest…and how the God who p...

Keys give you access to things that are valuable, beneficial, and necessary. They unlock the places we live, our means of transportation, and key areas intended for our safety. Keys let things in, and they let things out. Jesus said that He gave every follower of His KEYS on earth to release from heaven what needs to manifest on earth, and to lock up and send away old dead assignments from the kin...
