The Nerfherder Council

Welcome back for another fantastic episode of The Nerfherder Council! We’re making friends on this episode, talking with another relative newcomer to the Star Wars podcasting scene: Blabba the Hutt! They’ve got firsthand knowledge from the set of Episode 8, and they’re *way* smarter than we are. Give it a listen!

We all know and love A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back . Heck, we’ve even debated which one deserves the title of “Best ‘Star Wars’ Movie” on this very show! But what if we’ve had it wrong this whole time?? There are some people (or one, at least) who think Return of the Jedi is the best of the series. We weigh its merits – because ultimately, even th...

Happy Memorial Day, Americans! Sick of waiting for Episode VIII to answer all the questions raised by  The Force Awakens ? Well, wait no more! We dive into a few more of our favorite fan theories. Vader is Snoke! Your mom is Snoke! Ahsoka is Snoke! (The last one is actually a real theory!)

Attack of the Clones is the worst Star Wars movie ever made! At least, that’s what many people would have you believe – but does it deserve such a bad rep? We stack it up against a few other common lowlights in Star Wars cinema and see how it compares. Also, Battlefront video game news and an awful Ziro the Hutt impression. What do you think? Does AOTC deserve its place at the bottom o...

This is our first-ever “instant” episode, so bear with us! Star Wars Celebration 2017 was announced earlier today, so we take a look back at some our favorite moments from Celebrations past – and Jon books a hotel live on the air. Aren’t you glad you tuned in for that?? May the Fourth Be With You! Wanna see the video at the beginning of this episode? Here you go! Star Trek&...

We all know Star Wars is the greatest saga of all time – but which movie is the greatest of the bunch?? The original is an all-time cinematic masterpiece, but its sequel is often regarded as a superior movie. So let’s discuss, shall we?! It’s kinda what we do around here. Also: boobie trees.

It slices! It dices! It… flies?? Yep! We’ve got flying Inquisitors now, thanks to their handy-dandy roto-sabers. We’ve also got Sith temples, Maul’s re-emergence, Ahsoka’s final(?) fate, and a blinded Jedi. Betcha didn’t see that coming! Neither did Kanan.

As much as Star Wars is a cinematic universe, there’s actually far more Star Wars television than movies! We all love Star Wars: Rebels , but this most recent series varies greatly from its predecessor, Star Wars: Clone Wars . With this season of Rebels winding up, we tackle the main issue: which series is better? Well, that all depends on your point of view! Hear ours. Love ours. Agree with...

It’s bracket time again, baby!! Who’s got the boom-shaka-laka to come out on top in StarWars.com’s annual “This Is Madness” bracket tournament?? This year’s crop of characters features a slew of newcomers from  Rebels and  The Force Awakens . Can the rookies upset perennial contenders like Yoda and Vader? We give our completely honest, unbiased, well-reasoned, a...

From the opening notes of A New Hope all the way to the final scene of The Force Awakens , the soundtrack of Star Wars is as much a character as Luke or Rey – in fact, the soundtrack may reveal a possible link between the legend and the fan-favorite! We listen and discuss. Also on this show, how NOT to play Battlefront, our five-minute Deadpool review, and more! Be sure to rate and review us...

Is Kylo Ren a better character than Darth Vader? At least one online columnist seems to think so. The Council discusses. And speaking of characterizations, rumors are swirling about a potential villain for Rogue One, and what kind of action that villain may see. The Dark Side rules this edition of The Nerfherder Council – because good is dumb. Credits go out to the following fine folks for t...

Welcome to the third episode of the Nerfherder Council! This time around, JT finds himself on the defensive as friend of show Jeph Wahlgren lays into the prequels and special editions. Plus, it’s Steve’s birthday! AJ gives him Lego, while JT gives him hours of editing work thanks to his profanity-laden tirades. Check out all the bleep-filled fun! Also, take a look at the side-by-side e...

As Maz Kanata asks Rey in The Force Awakens trailer, “Who are you?” In our second episode, we attempt to answer that very question. Is she a Skywalker? Is she a Kenobi? Is she both?? Tune in to hear our thoughts! Also in this show, we give our take on the necessity of a possible Kenobi-centric trilogy, and wrap up with fan theories on where the story goes from here in Episodes 8 and 9....

Greetings, fellow Herders! On our debut show, we discuss the most obvious topic of all: The Force Awakens! After some brief introductions, we get into our thoughts about the film, the questions it raises, where the story is headed, and some random thoughts as we get pulled off-topic more than once. (Hey, we’re new at this!)
