The Freethinking Podcasts

This week, we're going to be talking about one of Tim's papers that he presented at ETS. We'll look at Tim's argument as to why Molinism gives us as Christians the ability to better utilize the Freethinking Argument Against Naturalism, and why other views, particularly exhaustively deterministic ones, do not. Enjoy! Relevant links: http://freethinkingministries.com/the-apologetic-significance-of-m...

Finally, a new episode where Tim and I can actually talk to each other! Tim just got back from the ETS conference in New Orleans where he presented two papers related to Molinism and middle knowledge. We talk about both of those papers and the reaction he received from those in the audience. Like we mention in the episode, we should be a little more regular with our content from here on out. We've...

In this episode, Tim sits down with Twin Cities Apologetics and talks about free will and other related topics. It makes for some really good conversation, so we're glad to be able to bring it to you guys. Enjoy the second part of this conversation!

It's the second part of Tim's interview where he demonstrates his wealth of knowledge regarding Christian apologetics and theology. Is there anything this guy can't do? I mean, besides find a time to record some new episodes for you guys with his cohost, but I digress. Enjoy the episode!

We're still trying to find some time to record some more episodes together, so this week you'll be hearing an interview Tim did where he answers some common questions you'll hear regarding Christian apologetics and theology. It's a fun interview, so have fun listening to Tim be awesome and know everything.

We've got Clinton Wilcox on the podcast this week to talk about abortion. It's a fairly timely conversation, as abortion has been quite the topic in the news as of late. Unfortunately, Tim wasn't able to join us, but the conversation was still really good. We talked about how we as Christians should talk about abortion, as well as some more practical problems that might come up in discussions you...

In the second part of our two-part series on Tony Lee Ross's article defending William Lane Craig, we primarily discuss Dr. Craig's Christological model for how Christ can be both divine and man. We haven't ever talked about this topic before on the podcast, so it makes for some interesting listening. In this episode, Tim and I talk about an article written by Tony Lee Ross that talks about what he believes to be unfair criticisms of Dr. William Lane Craig. This article gave us a chance to discuss some issues we haven't had a chance to discuss before on the podcast, such as young-earth creationism and presuppositional apologetics. Stay tuned for part two! Relevant Links: http://freethinkingmini...

Sorry for the long delay in getting you all a new episode, but it's been a hectic couple of weeks! We should be in for a more consistent schedule from here on out. In this episode, Tim and I talk about our views on politicians putting their hands on the Bible (or not) when they are sworn in. I think we have some different points of view on this issue than you might be used to hearing, so tune in a...

We're back, and we're talking about EPS! For those of you who do not know, EPS is the Evangelical Philosophical Society, which holds a conference each year where all of the smart people in evangelical thought come together and present their ideas. So as you might imagine, Tim had a lot to say. In this episode, Tim talks to me about who he met at EPS, what he presented, and all of the other great t...

It finally happened. We missed an episode of the podcast. And for that, Tim is incredibly sorry (I'm going to go ahead and blame him for this). But, hopefully this episode can help make up for that. This episode is actually a podcast that I recorded for the Christian Formation podcast, which is the podcast that my local church puts out. I talk about an article I wrote that outlines why all Christi...

In case we don't clarify it enough in this episode, both Tim and I think Greg Koukl is awesome! We've both benefitted immensely from his work, and so the corrections we're offering in these episodes are done in hopes that Koukl's positions will be made even stronger, helping him to be an even more effective apologist. In these episodes, we lay out Koukl's view on libertarian free will and why he d...

Sorry for the late episode everyone! That's the struggle when you forget to upload the episode before you go to work. Fortunately, that's the last you'll hear of me this week, as this interview is one that Tim did with a youth pastor at his church. It's a great conversation that we think you'll get a lot out of. Hearing how Tim interacts with people who maybe haven't studied the material as in-dep...

You've seen the bumper sticker I'm sure, with all of the symbols of modern religions. It says COEXIST. But is this an idea that is true for every religion? The answer might surprise you. Tim and I delve into what that bumper sticker really means, and we talk about an article that he wrote in which he deals with this idea. It makes for a really interesting conversation that I hope you all will enjo...

Today on the podcast we contrast two different speeches given by two different Hollywood movie stars who won two different awards. Thandie Newton won an Emmy and had some interesting comments about God that we wanted to take a look at. Chris Pratt also won an award, and we wanted to contrast the speech he gave which also referenced God, but in a much different way. The difference between the two s...
