The 40k Lorecast

On today’s cast we continue our coverage of the night lords with a focus on Konrad and the night lords through the end of the great crusade and into the start of the heresy. Where Konrad proves a complete inability to make friends with any of the other Primarchs, and then proceeds to make everything way worse. Followed by him deciding the only solution to him never fixing Nostramo is to remove it...

On Today’s cast we begin our coverage of the Night Lords with of course their formation under the emperor (it is awful). We then talk a bit about how the emperor used them as the 8 th legion (also awful). But then we jump in Konrad Kurze (not Konrad Cruze) and his arrival on Nostramo and rise to power (?) there. Then we talk about the legion forming under Konrad and how they adjusted to his new le...

On Today’s cast we conclude our coverage of the Siege of Vraks, with the handing over of the conflict to the Ordo Malleus and the arrival of the Grey Knights. Then we follow Inquisitor Rex on his attempts to cleanse the surface of Vraks outside of the citadel of all Chaos forces.  From there we move onto the final siege of Vraks with the challenges therein from the citadel. The rise of Zhufor and...

On Today’s cast we continue our coverage of the Siege of Vraks, with the arrival of the chaos fleets to the system and the not so great (for the imperium) naval battle that commences. Which is then followed by a not so great experience for the ground forces once a bunch of chaos marines show up. But then we get to the imperium’s response so things get a little better, and we close with an epic kic...

On Today’s cast we begin our coverage of the Siege of Vraks, on of the epic wars of 40k History. Starting with the origins and oddly high importance of the planet. Then the rise of Cardinal Xaphan that leads to the revolt of Vraks. Then we get to the fun part the invasion of Vraks by the 88 th siege company (the Death Korps of Krieg). We then cover the incredible woodchipper of death that took pla...

On today’s cast we jump back into the Death Korps of Krieg. We start where we should with the revolution on Kreig, how it started, how Jurten turned the tide to make it a more “even” battle” and how he and his loyalists eventually won out. We then move out on to cover the Kreig themselves. From the lowly Guardsman, to the Grenadier, the Quartermaster, Commissar, and (heavy sigh) the mounted units....

On today’s cast we jump into the Minotaurs chapter of the Space Marines. Starting with the earliest mentions of any space marines called the Minotaurs in the lore. But then we get into the more firm accounts starting in the 41 st millennia. With them being super cool during the Macharian Heresy, Badab Wars, saving the Crimson Fists, and more. We spend a lot of out time talking about how the Minota...

On today’s cast I tricked Brad into talking about the Lords of Terra by telling him we were going to talk about the Minotaurs. We start with their origins as the magisters temporal, and how that set up some of the “challenges” the imperium would have with them for the next 10,000+ years. Then we move onto the Council of Terra, which also kind of sucked, but was at least functional. Unfortunately w...

On today’s cast we conclude our coverage of the 500 worlds campaign book with the conclusion of the events on Novamagnor as well as the events throughout Ultramar. We open with Titus and crew needed to turn their situation around quickly as they are on the verge of losing the planet. While at the same time Ammentar needs to get his Nightbringer shard and will not be denied it. Luckily they both ki...

On today’s cast we continue our coverage into the 500 worlds campaign. We open with the retconning of the destroyer curse withing the Necrons. What it is, and how it is evolving in the lore to add a lot of depth to the Necrons. We then talk about Ammentar himself and how he is flipping some of the script on the destroyer curse. After that we jump into the conflict within the Heliodras system. Star...

On today’s cast we jump into the 500 worlds campaign. We open with a breakdown of the state of the galaxy in “modern” 40k. From there we jump into the background of the Imperium and the Necrons. We then go over to the set up of Ultramar and how the campaign there is to work, with a focus on Titus and his role in the campaign. We then close out on the Necrons and the C’tan shards, primarily the nig...

On today’s cast we conclude our coverage of the blood ravens. With a brief trip to Dawn of War Soulstorm, and then a hard dive into the Dawn of War 2 series. From the chapter fighting off the orks, the eldar, the tyrandids. And then later fighting off chaos, and discovering the betrayal within their own chapter, and fighting that off, even a greater daemon. From there we go into Dawn of War 3 and...

On today’s cast we begin our coverage of the blood ravens. With their origins in the white dwarf before the release of Dawn of war 1, and the mystery surrounding them. Then we jump into the events of Dawn of War 1, seriously why didn’t they just attack the Alpha legion at the onset. Then we jump into a bit more about their chapter actions and history before getting into Dark Crusade, and close out...

On today’s cast we conclude our coverage of the alpha legion with a start on the events of Pluto and the first (of many) recorded deaths of their Primarch(s). From there we move on to Eskrador and another death of their Primarch(s). After that we jump into some of our favorite codex short stories on alpha legion. Trying to show the nefarious and elaborate plans they have been enacting all around t...

On today’s cast we continue our coverage of the Alpha legion. We open with our own theories of what happened to them during the Horus Heresy, did they take different sides, did they go their own path, or maybe they were just weird and ineffective. We then talk about their crazy infiltration during the great crusade and how that set them up for some of their more wild events during the Heresy. Name...

On today’s cast we begin out coverage of the great enigma that is Alpha legion. And boy is the a doosy. Opening with the origins of the 20 th legion, or really the rumored origins of the 20 th legion. Their early hints at their existence and purpose, and our theories on what they were really for. From there we go through the numerous stories of Alpharius and Omegon, are they all lies? After those...

On today’s cast we cover the after effects of the 1 st war of Armageddon with the months of shame. From the decisions on Armageddon by he inquisition with what to do with the populace and solders of Armageddon, to the opening of hostilities between the Wolves and the inquisition. From there e move to the massive escalation of the conflict with the Inquisition and Grey Knights violated the rules of...

On today’s cast we jump into the events of the 1 st war of Armageddon (sort of). We open with a dive into what Armageddon really is and where it actually came from (damn it ad-mech). Then we talk about the Grey Knights, doing a bit deeper dive into them and their function in the imperium. Then we get to the warp and Angron doing a YOLO into the galaxy. After all that we get to the meat and potatoe...

On Today’s cast we close out (for now) our Titus coverage. We open with his discovery by the inquisition from his statis prison by Inquisitor Thrax. From there, we follow his adventures with the death watch that lead him to the surface of Kaduku leading to his reunification with the Ultramarines. Then we go into the events of Space Marine 2 and their totally dissimilar plot elements from Space Mar...

On Today’s cast we close begin our coverage of the most famous character in all of 40K (seriously, it is wild when you think about it) Titus! We open with has back story from a average recruit from a forgotten world, to his trials and eventual ascension to captain of the 2nd company. Losing quite a lot of friends and allies along the way. And then to his arrival on Graia and the events of Space Ma...

On Today’s cast we close out our coverage of the Salamanders, with a focus on the Salamanders post Vulkan. So we open before Vulkan is gone with Cassian Vaughn and the Disciples of the Flame. Then we move over to Vulkan He’Stan and the origins of the forgefather. After that we have some fun with Adrax, the grumpiest of the Salamanders. Then we jump into a bunch of the events of the Salamanders, mo...

On today’s cast we continue our coverage of the Salamanders with a dive into Vulkan coming to lead his legion. With his initial efforts to uplift their technology and recruitment pool by building up nocturn, then his saving of the legion from certain destruction at the hands of the orks. And then to make Brad sad we spend a bunch of time on Vulkan being a A-hole. We then jump to Vulkan and the Sal...

On today’s cast we talk about the Salamander (finally). Starting with the origins of the 18th legion and their actions during the unification wars. AKA underground bunker attack! We then talk about the after affects of this, namely the 18th legion being a tiny legion in comparison to the other legions. And just before they were potentially going extinct we jump to Vulkan! And his super fun but als...
