Reality Speaks

In this tie in episode with Bro. Jaken’s solo podcast, Peculiar, we discuss church music. What makes it different from secular music? What is its purpose? And what is up with some of those cringy lyrics?

“New year, new me!” Goes the saying. How about new year, new podcast episode? That’s where we are today. Let’s discuss new year resolutions. Do they work? Do they matter? And what resolutions do we have on this podcast?

On December 31 we had a youth service and lock-in. This the sermon that Bro. Jaken Orten preached along with a Q&A Session held over pizza with your familiar cohosts.

Yes, we acknowledge Christmas is technically over, but as Matthew West says, “The Light of the world is still here.” Also we aren’t talking about much of the per se “Christmas Story.” We are however featuring Christmas clips such as our opening clip, the song “Where are you Christmas,” from the Grinch movie.

In “The Polar Express” a quote is debated a bit is it that “Seeing is Believing” or is it “Believing is Seeing.” The Biblical Christmas story contains quite a bit of this debate as well. Let’s talk about those who believed to see the appearance of Jesus on this Earth!

When Jesus was still a toddler, a story unfolded that has become an iconic part of the Christmas story began to unfold. It has parts that are entirely beautiful, but it was not all beautiful fuel for the Christmas songs. What happened that night, and how can it help us in our own modern moment?

An exasperated young boy screams out in frustration at his commercialized friends.. even his beagle. Featured in this episode is the answer that Linus gives in the movie “A Charlie Brown Christmas.” And then we endeavor to explain the answer a bit more in detail.

What does the Bible say about miracles, and how well do our modern ideas line up with it? Also why do miracles happen anyway?

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! In this episode Pastor talks about why we should live a life of thankfulness and then we go into a discussion on our personal reasons for being thankful. To listen to the rest of Pastor’s series on “This is Why” go listen to the Harvest House podcast!

What’s up with angels? Are they the way Hollywood portrays them? Are they the way grandmas on Facebook make them look? Are they epic warriors, or something entirely different? We want to find out the truth, so listen in as we hash it out on this episode of Reality Speaks! In this conclusion to our two part series on words that are not found in the text of Scripture, we tackle one of the most critical issues of doctrine: the very nature of God. Is the idea of a triune God actually found in the Bible? If not, where did we get that idea in the first place? Do people who don’t believe that even have the right to be called Christians? Little spoiler alert here: we think...

WE INTERRUPT YOUR REGULARLY SCHEDULED PROGRAMMING… So we are not talking about what we said we were going to talk about this week, because one of your hosts is on the road this week. So Bro. Jaken recorded a conversation with Pastor and Sister Orten plus Brother Jimmy Newland talking about life changing sermons, books, and podcasts. We bring up some interesting thoughts, and recommend some things...

Is the rapture a biblical concept? If so how does it work? When will it happen? Also we get off topic at some points and discuss the other word that is not in the Bible: Trinity.

Last week we discussed just how much power the devil has, and this week we are flipping the coin from evil to good. How much power, and what power, does the Holy Ghost really have?

How powerful is devil really? Can he hurt you? Can he kill you? What weaknesses does he have? How do we beat the enemy of our souls?

Today we have the first official entry to our series on controversial topics, and this one is on free will and choices. Is there a certain person for everyone? Do we have a certain date we are meant to die? Did Judas have to betray Jesus or could it have been someone else? How much does prayer really change things? Check out our conversation with these questions and more on today’s episode!

Today we discuss two popular prayer patterns. One stated outright in the Gospels, known as the Lord’s Prayer. The other discovered by a man named G. A. Mangun, and known as the Tabernacle Prayer. What do these patterns have in common? How are they different? Which is better? Let’s find out!

Some recaps. Some looks at the future. We talk future episodes. We talk controversial topics. We talk zombies. We have a double header for you in this episode! Tonight we heard from a missionary to Finland and Iceland as well as our main speaker for the night, Pastor Roy Marran. The message title is “Becoming Different to Stay the Same.”

In this episode we continue to share the words delivered at #REACHyouthWeek21. This message is titled sweet revelation. Sometimes we just need a little more revelation to push us forward into all that God desires for us to be! Let the Word bless you!

Youth Week 2021 co to yes with this message from Brother Wade Hendrix titled “Hezekiah’s House.” God moved in an incredible way tonight! If you can make it this week, you owe it to yourself to come and join us at Harvest House!

Youth Week continues! In this message you will hear from your typical host, Jaken Orten (Who didn’t mess up the recording this time 😅). Our message comes from a not so Sunday School story, to reveal a very real problem many of us face. How do I get out of where I am, and keep future generations out as well? The message is called, “Leaving the Lineage of Lot.”

This week we are having our annual youth revival. Our theme is Generational Cursebreakers, and Brother Texas preached the opening message, “World Changers.” This is just the altar call, but I believe it will stir you and prepare you for what God is going to do this week!

It has been a long and fun season 2, but now it’s time for a quick summer break. For now we sit down one more time to reminisce and chat over what we have done and are doing in this modern time called season and 2021. We talk past guests, cool quotes, FB and IG lives, and favorite podcasts. It’s a fun and casual conversation. We even have a quick cameo appearance from THE pod baby, Corbin Alexande...

In this wrap up to the conversation we started last week, we discuss the Biblical definition of manhood. Does being manly necessarily involve muscles, guns, and outdoor survival skills? Do men need to learn to connect and communicate? What is the connection between Heaven and cookies? All this and more in this episode of Reality Speaks! Outro music by Indiana Bible College
