As Christians, we can’t only complain about what doesn’t work in our culture, we need to sell what does work! Dr. Jonny explains that Jesus offers a “higher way;” something that cannot be achieved on our own. Jesus promises us an abundant life that is superior to anything this world offers and will allow us to achieve our cultural goal of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness!

We are not helpless victims of the culture, but rather we are called to set and shape the culture. Dr. Jonny sets the stage for Season 6, by focusing on culture and the amazing shift or potential that he currently sees in our culture. The “ways” of the world have not worked, but His “ways” are higher. We need to be able to articulate and demonstrate these ways to a desperate world!

At the end of Season 5, Dr. Jonny recaps five years of Pushback, where we are culturally today, and the direction for the podcast into 2025 and season six!  There is cultural momentum today as much of what the secular world is offering isn’t working and is increasingly being rejected. We need to pushback at a culture of pain, dysfunction and selfishness and push forward as we promote His “ways.”

Dr. Jonny addresses scripture from the New Testament that seems to limit or restrict women in the operation and teaching of the New Testament Church. These passages were never intended to subordinate women for all eternity, but rather to bring order in a time of unprecedented freedom and liberation! 

Jesus not only came to save us, but to restore the heart of the Father. Women were created as the equal and comparable strength to men and Jesus came to liberate women into their created destiny.
