JOIN THE PHNX DIEHARDS! https://www.gophnx.com/join-diehard Though Phoenix Rising's season may be over, the offseason news cycle for the USL Championship has just begun. Even with all of...

JOIN THE PHNX DIEHARDS! https://www.gophnx.com/join-diehard Phoenix Rising may be done for the year, but the USL Championship playoffs roll on. Plus, major managerial names in Mark Briggs and Alen Marcina have departed their clubs...

JOIN THE DIEHARDS FOR JUST $4 A MONTH! https://www.gophnx.com/intro-offer-youtube It was supposed to be a lap of victory, but Phoenix Rising’s Campeones Tour turned into a disaster. One fired coach in Danny Stone, a half-season long interim in Diego Gómez that is likely to be shown the door soon as well. A loss to rivals New Mexico United in the opening round of the playoffs was the final blow. Wh...

JOIN THE DIEHARDS FOR JUST $4 A MONTH! https://www.gophnx.com/intro-offer-youtube It wasn’t to be. Phoenix Rising took the lead in their USL Championship Western Conference quarterfinal matchup through Federico Varela, but Rocco Rios Novo was not able to prevent New Mexico United from getting on the scoresheet and the hosts, the #1 seed, prevailed. In what was likely Diego Gómez’s last match at th...

JOIN THE DIEHARDS FOR JUST $4 A MONTH! https://www.gophnx.com/intro-offer-youtube Phoenix Rising have snuck into the playoffs, and it’s top-seeded rivals New Mexico who they’ll face first. Can Tomás Ángel and Charlie Dennis repeat their magic from the last trip to Albuquerque, or will Eric Quill’s New Mexico side, behind top scorer Greg Hurst, prove too much for Phoenix? Adding to the drama, could...

JOIN THE DIEHARDS FOR JUST $4 A MONTH! https://www.gophnx.com/intro-offer-youtube The regular season is over, and now the drama begins. Phoenix Rising will be looking to repeat its victory earlier this month in Albuquerque, which saw goals from Tomás Ángel and Charlie Dennis to lift them above Eric Quill’s New Mexico side, but that’s not the only drama on the horizon. MLS reporter Tom Bogert has r...

An early counter-attack beauty of a goal by Jearl Margaritha was quickly canceled out by a first-half brace by Wilson Harris. Two more second half goals followed in what quickly resulted in the reality of Phoenix Rising traveling to Albuquerque for a USL Championship Playoff showdown with #1 seed New Mexico United. Join Owain Evans and Max Simpson as they chat through this match and grapple with t...

JOIN THE DIEHARDS FOR JUST $4 A MONTH! https://www.gophnx.com/intro-offer-youtube It wasn’t how they’d have planned to it, but results elsewhere mean that Diego Gómez’s Phoenix Rising side will be in the playoffs despite their loss to Memphis 901. Now, the question is if they can climb the table. Can Tomás Ángel, Jearl Margaritha and Rocco Rios Novo lift Rising up as high as sixth in the West, or...

With many plotlines for Phoenix Rising’s matchup against Memphis 901 FC (revenge match from earlier this season, Panos Armenakas return, Fan Appreciation Night), the defining narrative became Phoenix Rising lost while still punching their ticket to the 2024 USL Championship Playoffs. Rising had their chances early and often in this match. While the club came out strongly in the first half, they we...

Panos Armenakas’ words on social media were pretty clear: “Can’t wait for this weekend.” The former Phoenix Rising player is coming back to town to take on Diego Gómez’s side with his new club, Memphis 901. But can Tomás Ángel, Renzo Zambrano and Emil Cuello keep their form going and secure a playoff spot for the hosts? An ALLCITY Network Production SUBSCRIBE to our YouTube: https://bit.ly/phnx_yo...

Tomás Ángel found the net twice, Charlie Dennis sunk New Mexico and Patrick Rakovsky got a rare start in net. It was quite the week for Phoenix Rising, who now find themselves on the brink of sealing a playoff spot. Can Diego Gómez’s squad get one wrapped up this weekend?   Join Max Simpson and Owain Evans to look back on a busy, and productive, week for Phoenix Rising.   An ALLCITY Network Produc...

Tonight’s 1-0 victory over Oakland Roots puts Phoenix Rising on the verge of clinching a playoff spot. Without multiple key players, such as Rocco Ríos Novo, Jearl Margaritha, and Rémi Cabral, Diego Gómez’s team got the win behind a goal from Tomás Ángel.   Join Owain Evans and Rees Goodall to review Rising’s pivotal victory.   An ALLCITY Network Production   SUBSCRIBE to our YouTube: https://bit....

It may not have been the prettiest, but they’ll take it. Phoenix Rising may have conceded first, but an equalizer from the spot from Tomás Ángel and a close range finish from Charlie Dennis was enough to see them over top-of-the-west New Mexico United. Even without Jearl Margaritha, Rémi Cabral and Dariusz Formella, Rising took home three points.   Join Owain Evans and Rees Goodall to break down t...

Dariusz Formella’s second half goal wasn’t enough to lift Phoenix Rising over Monterey Bay, and now the pressure is really starting to ramp up. Facing Greg Hurst’s New Mexico United and Baboucarr Njie’s Oakland Roots, can Phoenix Rising finally boost its chance of a playoff place? With Jearl Margaritha, Darius Johnson and Damien Barker-John all set to miss time due to international duty, it’ll pro...

Phoenix Rising came into Friday’s game needing three points with the USL Playoff race heating up. Against Monterey Bay it seemed like a given, but the away side scored two first half-goals, proving to be the difference in this one. Dariusz Formella did pull one back for Rising in the 84th minute, but it proved to be too little too late. Join Owain Evans and Rees Goodall as they review how Rising l...

This could prove critical. Phoenix Rising has a dollar beer night clash coming up against Monterey Bay, and if it goes poorly, Diego Gómez’s side could find itself below the playoff line with a seemingly large mountain to climb. Will Tomás Ángel finally break out of his slump, and Jearl Margaritha contribute before his Curaçaon international duty, or will Carlos Herrera keep a critical clean sheet...

The pressure is on. After Rémi Cabral’s opener proved not enough against Las Vegas Lights, Phoenix Rising has two teams snapping at their heels. Can Jearl Margaritha, Tomás Ángel, Renzo Zambrano and Rocco Rios Novo keep Diego Gomez’s side in a postseason berth, or will Aaron Bibout and Ethan Zubak help lift both FC Tulsa and Orange County respectively into pole position as the USL Championship sea...

Phoenix Rising needed three points at home versus Las Vegas Lights to put one foot into the playoffs. It looked like it was going to happen, as Remi Cabral opened the scoring for Rising in the 61st minute, but then two late goals for Las Vegas Lights past Rocco Rios Novo left the points to the visitors, with Rising left to rue squandered chances from Tomas Angel in particular.  Join Owain Evans an...

Phoenix Rising came into tonight’s match with a golden opportunity to separate themselves from the pack in the hunt for a spot in the 2024 USL Championship Playoffs.   Unfortunately after full time, their matchup against Orange County SC, and former Phoenix Rising Head Coach Danny Stone, made the journey to the playoffs a bit tighter than desired.   A first-half brace by Orange County’s Ethan Zuba...

At the start of the season, both Danny Stone and Diego Gómez were leading the ship at Phoenix Rising, but a midseason firing has seen the former end up at Orange County SC. Now, with playoff hops in the balance, Gómez’s team will travel to Irvine hoping for more of the same from Jearl Margaritha, Charlie Dennis, Darius Formella and perhaps even a first open play goal for Tomás Ángel.   Join Max Si...

The critical stretch on the road to the USL Championship playoffs is starting now. First up for Diego Gomez’s Phoenix Rising side is a clash against Alen Marcina’s San Antonio FC. The last time these two sides met, Fede Varela’s goal proved only a consolation for Phoenix as Juan Agudelo’s brace sealed a 2-1 win. But, with new reinforcements from Tomás Ángel, Jearl Margaritha, Darius Johnson and Ch...
