" The Lord Jesus continued to grow and increase in wisdom. God's will for us is that we be filled with the knowledge of his will, in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, and that we continue to incre...

Matthew 13:54, " And when he was come into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and said, Whence hath this man this wisdom, and these mighty works? " They did not know where the Lord Jesus received his wisdom or his spiritual authority. He did not follow the route of other religious people in his day to go through an indoctrination or training sys...

Colossians 3:23-24, " And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; 24, Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. " We are not working for men; we are not working for this world. We are working for the Lord. No matter what kind of work we do: it is for the Lord. Our work is for the Lord; our reward will be from...

Colossians 3:17, " And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. " Everything in our life should represent our faith in the Lord and our relationship to God. Whatever we are involved with it should reflect our faith in Jesus. If we are involved in anything that would raise a question of whether or not we are a Christian then...

Colossians 3:16, " Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. " How do we allow the word of Christ to be in our heart abundantly? Psalms, hymns, spiritual songs. Praise and worship is not just for Sunday morning. It should be every day. This is how we keep our...

Colossians 3:15, " And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. " Allowing God's peace to rule in your heart is a choice. You can, instead, choose to be anxious, fearful, and unbelieving. But why choose the attitude of the world? Why not trust in God and have peace, and live with thanksgiving? God's word teaches us how to live in pe...

Colossians 3:14, " And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. " Love is the beginning and the end of the Christian life. It is the goal of our walk. Love the Lord; love our neighbor. There is no higher goal in life. Love is patient, love is kind, love is not proud. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. Heavenly Father, help me today to walk in love. Help me to be like you, Lord....

Colossians 3:12-13, " Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; 13, Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. " God calls us to show forbearance. This includes mercy, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience. Forgivene...

Colossians 3:10, " And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him " God has called us to be renewed in the image of Christ. God made us in his image. Adam fell into sin and the image was marred by sin. Now, through the Lord Jesus Christ, we are restored to God's image through our knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. This renewal is a daily process...

Colossians 1:14, " In whom we have redemption through his blood , even the forgiveness of sins :" We were redeemed through the blood Jesus Christ shed for us on the cross. It is through the blood of the Lamb we were saved from death and from destruction. The blood of Jesus provides us with the forgiveness of our sins. Heavenly Father, I thank you for the blood of Jesus. I thank you, Father God, th...

Colossians 1:13," Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son :" Through what Christ accomplished in his death, burial, and resurrection we have been set free and delivered from the power of darkness. The devil can no longer control our lives. God took us out of the kingdom of darkness and placed us into the kingdom of his Son Jesus Chr...

Colossians 1:12, " Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: " God has qualified us through his Son Jesus Christ to participate in the inheritance of the saints. This inheritance points to our life in the kingdom of God. We were qualified for this because of what Jesus accomplished through his death, burial, and resurrection....

Colossians 1:11, " Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness ;" God's will is full joy in Christ. His purpose is for us to rejoice in the Lord always. This is spiritual joy produced when we are strengthened by God's power through patience and longsuffering. God gives joy in the middle of the trial. This is joy in his presence...

Colossians 1:10, " That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God ;" Scripture teaches that if we are in Christ then we will grow. Growth means we will increase in the knowledge of God. We grow in grace and in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. We cannot stand still; we must move forward with the Lord. Father...

Colossians 1:10, "That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;" When we are filled with the knowledge of God's will then it enables us to walk worthy of the Lord. When we are controlled by the mind of Christ then we can be fruitful in every good work. Heavenly Father, grant me grace and mercy that I may abide in...

Colossians 1:9, " For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; " Paul prayed that the Colossians would be filled with the knowledge of God's will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. It is not enough to just "know" God's will. We must be FILLED w...
