Dr. Richard Zeile
Martin Luther's Evening Prayer
"An Unchanging Faith for Changing Lives" describes the message of God for us in the turmoil of the 21st Century. This faith is taught at St. John's Lutheran Church of Taylor, Michigan, and other congregations of the Lutheran church-Missouri Synod. Rev. Dr. Richard Zeile, Pastor at St. John's, applies the Word of God to our everyday experiences. God's LAW always accuses, but God's GOSPEL shows where grace can be found, through Jesus Christ who died for our sin, but rose that we may have eternal life.

Deuteronomy 32 "I Kill and Make Alive" 01.05.2021 28:25
There are those who blame God for killing; and this shows that they do not know who God is, for He is the Creator who gives to each his life and should He withdraw His grace they fall into death. Therefore humility, not prideful ignorance, is the proper attitude toward God. Dr. Zeile's message for Passion Sunday (also known as Palm Sunday) lays out the Divine plan involving death and life imp...

The Ash Wednesday Rite of Imposition of Ashes is followed by a meditation on the concept of the propitious, "pleasing to [the] God[s]." Our helplessness to please God is remedied by God Himself who gave His Son to make peace so that now the time to turn to Him is propitious. The sobering hymn, "Who Knows when Death may Overtake Me" accompanies this solemn occasion of reflection...
Romans 6:12-23 "Servants of the Spirit" 21.03.2021 28:58
St. Paul points out that regret is a sign that we have served someone outside our present selves. The self in the past self was deceived or ignorant, if not actually irrational in demanding the things that lead to death and regret. Paul urges us to serve the living God, made possible by the giving of Jesus Christ, who suffered but passed into glory so that we may follow the same path! Elements of...

Jeremiah 28: Happy Talk 09.01.2021 29:27
We will always reward those who tell us what we want to hear, so there will be no end of opportunity for politicians or false prophets. A false prophet told Israel assembled the happy talk they wanted to believe, but Jeremiah had to challenge him openly with God's message. The saints are models of faith for believers in differing stations of life , and fellow believers who share with us the high calling of God. Excerpts of the All Sa...
