Do you know what it’s like to wait? Luke tells the story of Simeon and Anna who had waited their entire lives to see Jesus. Their patience is rewarded when they are able to hold in their hands the one who would ultimately provide for their salvation. You may be waiting for answers to questions or for solutions to problems. The good news is that whatever you’re waiting for, God is with you.

Luke 2:1-20  If we’re not careful, we can run through the Christmas season and not fully appreciate what it’s all about - the gift of Jesus, God’s one and only son. The news of Christmas is that God came near. This is too good to only celebrate one day a year. It’s the good news that transforms our lives and is to be lived out every day of our lives. 

The story of Christmas is messy. No one knew this more than Mary and Joseph. In the mess, however, Jesus’s earthly father, Joseph, demonstrates the love of the Heavenly Father. God’s love comes to us in all our conflict, pain, or humanness. This baby Joseph embraces as his own changes everything and reminds us we are loved, no matter the mess we are in.
