Kill Streak

Our long journey through the Halloween series comes to an end as we hand out our superlatives and announce our canonical rankings of all 12 Halloween films. We're going to miss the friends we made along the way: Laurie Strode, Jamie Lloyd, Dr. Loomis, Tom Atkin's powerful ass...ahh the memories. We also invite our social media manager and horror fanatic Scott Jennings on to talk through his series...

I got bad news for evil, cuz it dies tonight! We're coming in hot with our takes on Halloween Kills, the second in the David Gorden Green Halloween Trilogy! This one starts right where the last one left off. Michael and Laurie return (well, Laurie sort of returns...) and they're joined by an ever expanding cast of angry Haddonfield residents who are champing at the bit to tear Michael a new one! I...

Rob Zombie brings his carny-from-hell aesthetic to the Halloween series with his reboot and it’s sequel. Michael Myers gets a full back story! There are white horses! There’s a ton of Sheri Moon Zombie! Our opinions on these two grimy, sadistic pieces of work made by America’s premiere Wife Guy will shock you.

The Cult of Thorn trilogy concludes with this absolute confusing mess of a movie...but what's this?...does it somehow rise above it's nonsensical script? Listen and find out! We talk the Theatrical Cut and The Producers cut. Is one superior? Also, listen and find out. Really, if you just listen, you will find out a lot of things. Your life will be better. Also also: Horror Movie Trival Pursuit! I'...

The Thorn Trilogy has begun! Halloween 3 flopped, and Michael Myers is back to wreak havoc on his extended family. In this jam packed episode we break down not 1 but 2 movies! They came out a year apart, they share much of the same cast, but boy oh boy are they different from one another. Also, maybe the worst masks of the series? You're not going to want to miss this action-packed thrill ride!&nb...

Happy happy Halloween, Halloween, Halloween! Grab your Silver Shamrock masks and gather around your favorite podcast app for the BIG GIVEAWAY! That's right, we're talking about the true odd-ball of the Halloween franchise. It's a wild one. Stay tuned to the final segment where we talk FALSE ADVERTISEMENTS in movie titles.

How do you kill what's not alive? Although it came out 3 years later, this  sequel takes place mere moments after the end of the original. Donald Pleasence and Jamie Lee Curtis reprise their iconic roles of Dr. Loomis and Laurie Strode, and this time it's a family affair. Is it dead on arrival, or alive with innovation? Listen and find out! Plus, in the final segment, we review our Random Creature...

Bonfires burning bright! Pumpkin faces in the night! I remember HALLOWEEN! That's right, the boys are talking about the mother of all slashers. Michael Myers is slowly stalking the beleaguered baby sitters of Haddonfield, IL (South Pasadena, CA). This movie is considered a classic...but does it hold up? Listen and find out! Stay tuned to the end for a Mount Rushgore of horror movie soundtracks tha...

The time has come to pull our Chuckys out and rank them. You will be shocked when you hear our personal lists, and soothed when we work through our differences and assemble our canonical Kill Streak rankings. Stay tuned to the end to hear the announcement of our next series. It's a big one!

We always said Chucky should go to therapy, but not like this! The final (for now) installment in the Child's Play franchise finds Nica in a mental institution pursued by not one, not two, but THREE CHUCKYS! You gotta be kidding me! That's two too many, if you ask me. Stay tuned to the final segment where Price gives his thoughts on the 2019 Child's Play remake.

It's back to basics(-ish) in the 6th installment in the Child's Play franchise. A new unlucky family is subjected to Chucky's evil whims...but dark familial secrets lurk beneath the surface. Plus there's a very strange cam-girl show! Then, in the final segment, the boys go head to head in a thrilling game of Horror Movie Trivial Pursuits mere moments after Mike's pre-show edible kicked in!

Chucky goes psycho in this Don Mancini-helmed meta-satire of Hollywood (shot in Romania). Brad Dourif and Jennifer Tilly are back as Chucky and Tiffany (and Jennifer Tilly), and this time they're joined by their non-binary child Glen/Glenda! This movie sees the Chucky franchise fully embracing camp and comedy, but for better or worse? Listen and find out. This movie also answers the age old questi...

WE ARE BACK AND BETTER THAN EVER! You know who else is back? Charles Lee Ray aka Chucky...and he has company. The boys break down Ronnie Yu's BRIDE OF CHUCKY in which the franchise is taken in bold new directions. New Directions. hah. Say that out loud. Listen to the end to hear Mike and Eric's thoughts on THE OTHER (1972), the randomly selected movie from John Stanley's CREATURE FEATURES and find...

Listen for an important update!

This week, it's the red-headed step-doll of the Chucky franchise! Will this much-maligned military themed entry pleasantly surprise us? Or will we find ourselves wishing that the Chuckster had just stayed dead? Listen to find out! Then after the recap, another rousing round of Horror Movie Trivial Pursuit, which includes a special request for our listeners...

The solstice is upon us, and it brings with it the return of long days and hot nights, baseball, mosquitos, and of course, Charles "Chucky" Lee Ray and his murderous hijinks! This second entry introduces even more of the light-hearted tone that will come to define this series, and it's regarded by many as the high water mark of the franchise. Do we here at Kill Streak HQ agree? You'll have to list...

The day is here folks! The 69th Episode Spectacular, celebrating a full year of Kill Streak, the podcast, and countless more years of compromises made in the name of physical intimacy. We were gonna bake a cake and throw a big party with streamers, but we forgot :(   However, we did remember to watch and recap "Child's Play," the beginning of a huge series! We had a lot of fun talking about Chucky...

Listen in to find out if there's anything else to recommend this one, as well as to help us try to parse who is masking what accent, and to learn all the secrets of "Ratty!" Then after the recap, we deliver our SHOCKING canonical rankings and s...

This week on the pod, it's the Brian Yuzna directed, Mary Shelley inspired sequel "Bride of Re-Animator." It's got more gore, more chintzy synthesizers, and Alotta Fagina! But does it justify its existence as a sequel to one of the all time horror greats? Listen to find out. Then in the end segment, Mike and Eric introduce an exciting new feature where they get in touch with their inner high schoo...

Paging Dr. Herbert West. The bangers keep coming! The guys breakdown one  of their all-time favs, the 1985 gore-soaked black comedy RE-ANIMATOR!  If you've never seen this one, or haven't seen it in a while, you owe  yourself a watch. Admire the disgusting gore! Fall in love with Barbara  Crampton! Bop along to the Psycho rip-off theme song! This movie has it  all! Exclamation point! Stay tuned to...

That's right BOOOOYS and girls and everyone else, we've come to the end of our series on Phantasm! We give out our awards to BEST SPHERE VARIANT, BEST ENDING, and BEST CAR FLIP/CRASH/EXPLOSION! Then we rank the whole series from worst to best. Stay tuned to the end to hear the next series we'll be covering!

This week on the pod, it's the final installment of the Phantasm franchise and BOYYYYYY is it a hot mess! This labor of love with an odd origin story marks the final screen appearance of the late, great Angus Scrimm. Give us a listen as we try to make any kind of sense of the unhinged plot, and then stay tuned for the much anticipated return of COLON EXAM after the movie.

This week on the pod, it's the penultimate Phantasm film, coming a cool 19 years after the release of the original! It's a big jump into the future, but this film also spends a lot of its time dwelling on the past. Does it make for a perfect blend of old and new, or tonal mishmash of '79 and '98? Listen to find out! And then stick around after as Eric's basement gets crowded in the special-est of...

Things get a little goofy on this episode (recorded on 4/20, maaaannn!) and in this film, as the Phantasm series takes a turn for the tongue-in-cheek. So how does this entry stack up against its brethren? You'll have to listen to find out. Then after the flick, we unleash upon the world a particularly profound edition of "Mt. Rushgore!!!"
