Send us Fan Mail Today we read the conclusion of the Book of Esther as the enemy of the Jews - through a series of ironic events - is hanged on the gallows he intended for the queen's cousin. This is poetic justice at its finest.

Send us Fan Mail Today we begin the Book of Esther. She is a beautiful young Jewish girl who is taken to replace the disobedient Queen Vashti. Through a series of fascinating events, she is placed in a position of going before the King without being summoned - a very possible death sentence!

Send us Fan Mail Today we see Zechariah's last prophecies that look forward to the crucifixion of the Messiah and the final defeat of evil and victory of righteousness.

Send us Fan Mail Today we read 6 short Psalms praising and rejoicing in God's deliverance and blessing.

Send us Fan Mail Today we read some Psalms that remind us that the Lord is good and faithful to deliver and redeem those who call on Him and turn from sin.

Send us Fan Mail Today we read a Psalm recounting Israel's past unfaithfulness and God's response of forgiveness and rescue. 

Send us Fan Mail Today we see the completion of the temple in Jerusalem! Zechariah gives the people guidance regarding what the Lord expects from their true actions and motives.

Send us Fan Mail Today we see 8 visions of Zechariah assuring Israel that they will be restored and their enemies will be destroyed. 

Send us Fan Mail Today we see the prophet Haggai encouraging the people to stop being selfish and continue the work on rebuilding the temple. They respond positively, and God tells them that 'He is with them'.  

Send us Fan Mail Today we see some drama and opposition with the rebuilding of the temple in Jerusalem, but God intervenes, and they are allowed to continue.  (Also, I take a moment to address the afterlife question from yesterday.)

Send us Fan Mail Today we see Daniel's final vision of future events including the end of time. We also get a fascination glimpse into the spiritual realm of angels and demons. 

Send us Fan Mail Today we see the king of Persia allow Israelite exiles to go back and rebuild their temple in Jerusalem! As they work, their enemies come along to discourage and scare them from finishing the work. 

Send us Fan Mail Today we see Daniel thrown into the lion's den because he will not stop praying to his God - even though he knows what will happen to him. He is miraculously rescued by an angel who shuts the mouths of the lions! 

Send us Fan Mail Today we see Daniel interpret the writing on the wall for King Belshazzar - which is immediately fulfilled. Daniel - while praying - is visited by Gabriel, who tells Daniel about prophesy related to coming days for Israel and the end of time.  

Send us Fan Mail Today we see 2 of Daniel's visions that relate to the end of times...terrifying, confusing and wonderfully hopeful! 

Send us Fan Mail Today we read 4 more Psalms expressing despair in their exile and hope for future redemption.  

Send us Fan Mail Today we read 6 Psalms about the prayers of Israel in exile asking God to restore them and destroy their enemies, then promising to praise Him for it. 

Send us Fan Mail Today we hear the Lord speak to Job and the friends. He reminds them that they do not have power or wisdom compared to God, and they may not accuse Him of being unfair. He tells the friends that they were wrong, and Job was right, and He will forgive them only when Job prays for them.  The Lord then heals Job and gives him more than he started with. 

Send us Fan Mail Today we hear from a fourth man, Elihu. He is younger and has just been listening. Now he speaks up to accuse Job of being guilty just as the other 3 'friends' have done.

Send us Fan Mail Today we see Bildad remind Job that no man can be truly righteous. Job answers with a declaration of God's power, how to find wisdom, how he misses the good times and how he has not committed the sins they have accused him of. He then invites God to answer him. 

Send us Fan Mail Today Eliphaz gives Job advice to get rid of his wickedness and come back to God. Job responds by explaining his belief that God would understand his innocence if only he could speak with Him. He also expresses great faith by stating that when this test is through, he will 'come forth as gold'.  

Send us Fan Mail Today we see Job responding to Bildad and Zophar as they continue to accuse him of wickedness. Even in the midst of his pain and suffering, Job makes an amazing declaration of faith!  "I know that my Redeemer lives ... and I myself will see Him with my own eyes."
