Hindsighting

Fiona Kennedy and I learn when the gods want to punish us, they answer our prayers as we discuss Out Of Africa.

We return to Best Picture as Matthew Scott Weiner and I try to figure out if Amadeus has too many notes.

Alan Foreman and I deeply felt the felt-deep whimsy of the 1981er The Great Muppet Caper. (Note: This one has NO explicit language. You know, for kids.)

Make-up artist Ali Bayless and I get beneath the latex with the gory 1981er An American Werewolf In London.

There are VERY different movies going on within the 1981er Sharky’s Machine but Michael Prince and I are way down for all of them.

Author Jordan Roter helps me give Terms Of Endearment a shot…because it needs its shot! Give it the damn shot!

We return to Best Picture as Scott Frank and I debate if Gandhi earns its salt or do we need to declare our independence.

David Cypkin and I marvel at Blake Edward’s bitterly indulgent but hilarious S.O.B. and why it’s the most unjustly obscure 1981er of all.

Philly’s own Jon Steinfield and I blow it out with Philly’s own Brian De Palma’s 1981er masterpiece: Blow Out.

It takes both Kalen Egan and Travis Sentell to help me untangle the hilariously toxic male behavior in our first 1981er: Modern Romance.

Michael Moskowitz and I debate whether Chariots of Fire crosses the finish line or does it need two more yards.

Jennifer Lee Weaver accepts my limitations as we enter Season 2 with the 1980s and Ordinary People.

Season Finale! In Pt. 2, Matthew Scott Weiner gives me his Top 5 Best Movies of the 2000s and I nicely counter-punch with my own.

Matthew Scott Weiner gives me 5 reasons why the 2000s may be better than I think.

Writer Eric Garcia and I diffuse the complexity of The Hurt Locker before time runs out. The bombing isn’t only confined to THIS description.

Playwright Chaya Doswell and I use all our lifelines to decide if Slumdog Millionaire is our final answer.

Friend-o Alan Foreman and I call it for No Country For Old Men, cinematic ambiguity and the vital role casting plays in roles big and small.

Michael Prince decide whether The Departed did its job or do we chop it up and feed it to the poor.

Billy Corben and I Crash into each other just to see if we feel something. As only two white guys can, we also solve racial injustice AND the war on terror. All in a day’s work.

Suju Vijayan and I stick and move with our takes as we try to assess whether Million Dollar Baby is a knock-out or a split decision. All this boxing jargon does NOT appear in the pod itself. Promise.

David Cypkin and I debate if one ring rules them all with this movie...or this third of a larger movie. It’s pretty epic.

Locations expert Brian Koppel and I bemoan the lack of actual Chicago in Chicago and figure out whether it had it comin’.

Screenwriter Jon Steinfield and I try to figure out if A Beautiful Mind is a problem without a solution.

Joe Russo and I try to figure out if Gladiator won the crowd. I break Joe’s heart with an Oscar fact he didn’t know and mend it with another he was thrilled to learn.

Edward Klau lays out what Hindsighting will and won’t be. Quickly. Just look at the run time.
