Episode about how I keep tabs on The Zeitgeist: 35. Some Methods I Use to Keep Tabs on The Zeitgeist 2026.01.01 | Patreon I didn’t open the jar my professor had on his coffee table, but I’ve wondered if the thing inside it was a mirror. What do you think? (If you already know what they put in those jars, don’t answer😉) I could’ve also been viewed through a telescope by something extraterrestrial,...

Sorry, recorded this in a serious whirl. Here are some pre-drop corrections: -Lots of people still use washboards, and very effectively, but I don’t know any of those people (yet). I apologize to them if my commentary about washboards was offensive or insensitive. -Smell is fairly easily replicated, of course, and touch can also be replicated, but to a lesser degree than the other things. (Audio a...

At that point, I’d already understood that my greater goal of establishing a community of like-minded fans of TLF was not going to materialize, so it was an easy decision to cut the cost of the transcr...

EXPLICIT LANGUAGE WARNING!!! I forgot to mention in the intro that I use a lot of coarse language that I wouldn’t normally use in the recording I introduce, but that’s only because I was speaking Lapsed-anese. (You’ll have to immerse yourself in The Lapsed Fan if you want to learn how to speak it, too.) This episode serves as a sort of intermission between the parts of the episode(s) about some of...

MISINFORMATION ALERT!!! MISINFORMATION ALERT!!! My friend must’ve been referring to Joshua Bell’s “Stop and Hear the Music” experiment, which was conducted (pun acknowledged, but not intended) in Washington, D.C., not in New York City. I didn’t watch the YouTube video linked to below very carefully, btw, but, for the record, I didn’t see anyone respond by crying: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=hnOP...

If I were to record this episode again, I’d talk more extensively about the specific moments in time and space when so much existential stuff was hanging in the balance, like last phone calls, pulling plugs, and what might’ve happened if I’d gone back to the cabin, or followed that nurse’s advice, etc. -HK Episode website: 43.
