Message in the Be Joyful series through Philippians. Pastor Robert Rohlin takes up one of the most misunderstood commands in the New Testament: "work out your own salvation with fear and trembling" (Philippians 2:12). Paul says work OUT, not work FOR, and that one word makes all the difference. Writing under house arrest in Rome, 800 miles from Philippi, Paul commends a church whose obedience neve...

This preacher admits that without clear Scripture commentary, he never would have associated the candlestick with Jesus... and that is why we must be very careful making such extra-biblical associations while freely receiving ALL such Biblical associations, especially About Jesus! Genesis 13:1-18 And Abram went up out of Egypt, he, and his wife, and all that he had, and Lot with him, into the south. 2 And Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold. 3 And he went on his journeys from the south even to Bethel, unto the place where his tent had been at the beginning, between Bethel and Hai; 4 Unto the place of the altar, which he had made there at the first: and the...

This sermon explores the life of Joseph as a testament to God's sovereign plan working through difficult circumstances, emphasizing that character is built by focusing on God rather than one's background. It argues that while family and societal influences may be flawed or pagan, they do not dictate a believer's outcome if they remain faithful to the Lord. The message challenges listeners to remov...

I came to the book of Daniel prepared to preach Christ from the heroic prophetic feats of the title character. Surely he is the great type of Christ in his own book! And indeed, as we will see Daniel consistently acts as prophet and priest throughout his time in Babylon, with parallels to the Son of Man that are not to be taken lightly. But in chs. 2 & 4, much to my surprise, I have discovered tha...

This sermon explores the nature of the local church through three metaphors presented in 1 Corinthians 3: it is a field, a building, and a temple. The central message emphasizes that while ministers are servants who plant and water, it is God alone who gives the increase, thereby removing human pride from the work of evangelism. The preacher warns against building with 'wood, hay, and stubble' by...

Hag 2:1-9 ESV – In the seventh month, on the twenty-first day of the month, the word of the LORD came by the hand of Haggai the prophet: "Speak now to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and to all the remnant of the people, and say, 'Who is left among you who saw this house in its former glory? How do you see it now? Is it not a...

We see the "overlay with gold" in the making of the Tabernacle and we learn that this pictures the "Hypostatic Union" which simply speaks of the fact that Jesus was Man (wood) and God (gold). Also Reference: Matthew 5:17, Ephesians 2:14-18 https://bbfohio.com

This survey covers 1 Kings 7–13, examining particularly the detailed construction of the temple furnishings in 1 Kings 7, highlighting the symbolic progression from bronze articles in the outer courts to gold items in the inner sanctuary. This arrangement illustrates the theological principle of approaching the presence of God, a pattern fulfilled in the New Covenant where believers worship in the...
