Funkier Radio

Episode 11 sees me doing my usual thing for the first hour, with a fine selection of funky delights. I mostly kept things fairly uptempo this time as I was in that sort of mood, but I pack in a few tracks from the 80s at the start, then things get a bit housier later on. There's music from Luther Vandross, Midnight Star, Storm Queen, Basement Freaks, Cerrone, The Bamboos, Azymuth, Late Nite Tuff G...

It’s Funkier Radio time again, and we're into double figures! A nicely mixed bag of funky gems as usual, with a few acts I saw recently at Soul Town Festival. The one and only Aphex Twin too, along with Prince, Mr Scruff, Fatback Band, Gladys Knight, Dan Shake and more. In the second half of the show I hand over to Black Light Disco’s Nick Gartland for an hour and a bit of disco edits and other go...

My next episode is up, but small confession - I had some tech problems in the recording of this, so the links weren’t done live. I mean, they were the first time around, but it all went wrong and my master recording was corrupted. Happily I always record the raw audio too so I redid the links, and voila! It’s still the usual mix of funky curiosities, with some disco, some house, a bit of hip hop a...

It’s Funkier Radio time again, with two more hours of funky delights for your delectation. This fortnight I bring you House, I bring you Disco, some jazzy stuff, some Hip hoppy stuff… it’s all here, and it’s all funky. I’m excited to bring you the show's first ever exclusive guest mix in the second hour, recorded especially for Funkier Radio by BYO Boogie. It’s a vinyl only mixed bag of funky tune...

This fortnight’s episode of Funkier Radio features many of the artists I managed to catch at Camp Bestival last weekend, so we’ve got tracks from Chic, Sister Sledge, A Guy Called Gerald and Grandmaster Flash in amongst the usual menagerie of funky sounds. In hour 2 I’m pleased to hand over the guest mix reins to SoulSeduction, for a silky smooth selection of sweet soul music. So stick around for...

I’m back with another episode of Funkier Radio, keeping things varied and exquisitely funky with the likes of Aretha Franklin, Bill Withers, Cameo, Todd Terry and more. We’ve got funk, we’ve got disco, there’s some house and a whole lot of goodness in between. I left it too late to get a guest mix sorted out for hour 2 so it’s me, playing some more disco goodies. If you’re a DJ and would like to s...

My latest episode is another menagerie of sonic delights, veering from Mr Scruff to Shapeshifters via Aphex Twin and Chemical Brothers, taking in disco, house, electro and funk. I'm your host, Even Funkier, on this voyage through the unknown. I'd say this one ended up a bit more banging than previous episodes, maybe I got a bit carried away, but good music is good music. In hour 2 I bring you a gu...

The latest episode of my radio show is the usual funky affair, with a sumptuous selection of funky business for your listening pleasure. I indulged myself with a couple of my favourite songs of all time this fortnight, because why not? In hour two we hand over to the excellent Groovin Cess'ion (https://soundcloud.com/adrien-cecillon) for a great mix of disco infused vibes. You can catch this mix a...

Episode 3 of Funkier Radio has the usual wide variety of musical flavours over the first hour spanning disco, funk, hip hop, house and lots else. A couple of classics this week but leaning a bit more towards newer stuff. We've got tracks from Purple Disco Machine, Isley Brothers, Parliament, Crazy P, Jamiroquai, Lack of Afro, Thundercat and Diana Ross. Hour 2 features a great mix from DJ Ro from t...

Here's Episode 2 of the fortnightly Funkier Radio show. This time we've got a real mixed bag of tunes from artists including Breakbot, Earth Wind & Fire, Harvey Sutherland, Curtis Mayfield, Amp Fiddler, Cerrone, Betty Davis and Notorious BIG. I'm also excited to have my first guest mix, from DJ Iano over in Kilkenny, Ireland. It's an excellent hour of disco, and I want to say a big thanks to Ian f...

Expect Funk, Disco, Soul, House, Hip Hop, Jazz and lots else in between. I'm your selector and host as we journey through the funkiest music this planet has to offer.
