Ollie, Terry & Phill

For F1's Sake

Sports EN ↓ 245 Folgen

Ten years of reviewing every grand prix with a satirical slant. Formula 1 needed fixing - and now it's fixed. Job done. From 2015-25, Cheeka, Terry, Phill and latterly Ollie met in a pub and complained about the sport they loved because of daddy issues - listen back to seminal moments and, if you like what they did... buy them a pint! We may return. Probably when Netflix gets bored.

Simply the Test 28.02.2024

F1 is nearly back! And it's not going away for a while. Ollie, Phill and Terry take a deep breath and look back at the off-season news, of which there was a lot, and pre-season testing, of which there wasn't much. As well as our usual cutting-edge insight and analysis there's also an update from Terry on whether or not he's done any new t-shirt designs like he promised, and also we're opening a pu...

The FF1S Review Of The Season Of Driving 2023 22.12.2023

Never mind the final race of the season, never mind the annual FIA prize-giving – this is what it all comes down to. The FF1S gang gather IN PERSON, at an ACTUAL PUB to debate the 2023 Formula 1 season and all who sailed in her. We'll reflect on the good, the bad, the hilariously inept and the grudgingly rather impressive, before pronouncing an actual winner that isn't Max Verstappen. It's the onl...

Don’t Dream It’s Over 02.12.2023

This is the way the season ends. Not with a bang, but a whimper. Phill and Terry are joined by Ollie Peart to look back an an underwhelming Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and ruminate on the season, before remembering that there’s an end of season episode coming up and they should probably wait for that. So most of this is just filler. Anyway, enjoy! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.co...

Sphere of The Dark 23.11.2023

The inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix was simultaneously an absolute shitshow even by F1’s cackhanded standards, and yet also one of the best races of the year. Phill and Terry are joined by Ollie Peart to discuss manhole destruction, what the point of the backmarker teams is, and all sorts of stuff that actually isn’t anything to do with F1 but just sort of cropped up. As usual. Learn more about you...

I’m Waiting for the Men 15.11.2023

Better late than never, Phill and Terry are joined by Drew Stearne to try and remember what happened in the São Paulo Grand Prix, while also looking forward the the gaudy, neon-drenched clusterfuck that the Las Vegas GP will probably be. We also hear about Terry’s Miami adventures and why Phill makes bad car choices. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word 10.11.2023

This should be the São Paulo Grand Prix Episode, but unfortunately we have massively fucked up our logistics and so it isn’t. It’s just a placeholder to tell you how much we’ve Ferrari’d things up, and to apologise. But we WILL have an episode before the next Grand Prix. Almost definitely. Ok. Sorry. Checo The Technique 03.11.2023

Mexico arrived in a sea of stereotypes, including sombreros, mariachi music, Max Verstappen winning and Sergio Perez making a disgrace of himself. Phill, Terry and Ollie talk about all that, as well as the unexpected bonus of Daniel Ricciardo driving well, how setting up a car works and whether McLaren and Aston Martin are actually connected telepathically or something. Learn more about your ad ch...

Norwegian Wood (This plank has shrunk) 26.10.2023

F1 has returned to the Americas with a race dominated by talking in the braking zone, tyre strategies and the fact there are still bits of wood bolted to the bottom of the cars. Ollie and Terry are joined by special guest correspondent Dawn Janáček joins from Texas to step in for a Phill on holiday, obrigado moshi moshi. Learn more about your ad choices. Let's Sick Together 11.10.2023

Qatar promised little but deivered chaos, vomit, crashes and a world championship. And all we needed was oppressive heat and some shitty tyres. Phill and Terry are joined by Drew Stearne to relive the Doha debacle, with the usual tangents and edited-out offensive bits. Listen, and try not to feel too poorly to finish. Six on Fire 27.09.2023

Would Japan be Red Bull’s downfall after the shocker of Singapore? No. Utter dominance returned and Red Bull are six-time champions. But also McLaren are good, Perez is shit and who will get the boot next season? All this and much more unrelated nonsense is discussed by Phill and Terry, with Ollie Peart trying to keep everything in check. And largely failing. Newsletter: ff1s.com/newsnewsnews Supp...

George of the Bungle 21.09.2023

Best race of the year? And all we had to do was completely nobble the Red Bulls for mysterious yet apparently not-at-all dodgy reasons. Singapore was a bit of a classic and didn't even need rain to spice it up. Phill and Terry are joined by guest host Drew Stearne to talk about all the drama on the streets of Marina Bay, including the crashes, the strategy, tarantulas on trains and the contents of...

Perfect 10 06.09.2023

Monza. The home of Ferrari, the home of the tifosi. The home of a surprisingly good performance from the Maranello team. Not good enough to win, obviously, but still. Phill and Terry are taken aback at Ferrari's not-shit performance, and with guest host Drew Stearne reflect on the Italian Grand Prix with an unusual amount of insight. Amid copious swearing and drinking. Love the show? Support us in...

Mr Zandman 31.08.2023

The Dutch Grand Prix brought rain, crashes, a red flag and lots of entertainment, and then Max Verstappen won because of course he did. Phill and Terry are joined by Olllie Peart to discuss the zaniness at Zandvoort, and then almost immediately take a deep dive into the back catalogue of Wet Wet Wet. Because of course they do. Radio Blah Blah 02.08.2023

Belgium! The land of waffles, chocolate and Max Verstappen's homeland, and also home to the Belgian Grand Prix, which was either interesting or tedious depending on who you ask. Phill and Terry are joined again by Drew Stearne to dissect the weekend of rain, no rain, bickery radio messages and a Night of the Long Knives at Alpine. Plus the usual music, laughter and libellous accusations thrown aro...

How Can You Mend A Broken Trophy? 26.07.2023

The Hungarian Grand Prix promised much, with an exciting qualifying and the suggestion that MAYBE Max Verstappen wouldn't romp to an easy victory. But then he did, within literally one corner. Still, it proved a mildly engaging race that will be fervently dissected and analysed by Phill and Terry, together with guest host Drew Stearne. They'll talk about Daniel Ricciardo returning, Lando Norris sm...

Let's Talk About Sax 12.07.2023

Impressively soon after the British Grand Prix and just before Alphatauri killed Nyck de Vries and replaced him with Daniel Ricciardo, Phill and Terry are joined once again by Ollie Peart. Together, they discuss terrible anthems, excellent orange (and chrome) cars and all the other Silverstone gossip. They speculate wildly about the new F1 film with Brad Pitt and some other guy, and there's an exc...

Spielberg Shitty Limits 06.07.2023

Now with more than 1200 infringements, it’s the Austrian Grand Prix podcast! Phill and Terry are joined by Ollie Peart to look back over what was actually a pretty decent race weekend, albeit overshadowed by farcical track limit violations. Naturally, they have answers. If only the FIA would listen… Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Montreal I Ask Of You 22.06.2023

Canada saw a return to form for Formula 1, by which we mean it was only mildly dull instead of a complete snoozefest. Phill and Terry are joined once again by Anouszka Tate to discuss all things Montreal, including dead birds, Italian race organisation and all sorts of ideas to Make F1 Great Again. Some of them were too spicy for broadcast or lawyer approval. Subscribe to our newsletter: ff1s.com/...

George I want to make you sweat 07.06.2023

The Spanish Grand Prix was one of the most interesting races of the season, but with an incredibly low benchmark, that's not saying much. Still, Phill and Terry are joined by guest host Alex Goy to discuss the Barcelona race, and they focus mostly on George Russell's sweaty helmet. Did you expect anything less? Where The Streets Have No Shame 01.06.2023

Monaco. It's the jewel in the crown of F1, except it's a very dull jewel and only sparkles if it gets wet. Nevertheless, Phill and Terry are joined by guest host Laura Leslie to discuss the dismal failure of Monte Carlo to make interesting racing, and also do some hardcore facts, some of which are accurate. No no // no no no no // no no no no // no no there’s no Grand Prix 22.05.2023

In lieu of a race this weekend, Terry & Phill dive back into the archives to find a PREVIOUSLY UNBROADCAST pilot by the team. Yes, even Cheeka. So get Wikipedia open and get ready to laugh at F1 jokes from 2015! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Holding Back the Eyers 11.05.2023

It was the Miami Grand Prix, but we're barely interested in that. Instead, for one final time, Cheeka Eyers hosts everyone's third or fourth favourite F1 podcast and we reflect on a lifetime together, assuming that lifetime is of an eight-year-old. There are jokes, anger, denial, Lil Wayne lyrics and reflections on pornography shoots, as well as one last Cheeka Quiz. We dare you not to cry. Learn...

We Are The Cheeka Boys 04.05.2023

As staff changes echo around one, we make them all seem minor with an EPIC BOMBSHELL. Also there were several tedious races in Baku, so Phill, Terry and special guest host Ollie Peart try and make sense of it all. Also there’s sunburn and Green Day. Learn more about your ad choices. Red Flag In Red, Is Dancing With Me 05.04.2023

Every time we think we’ve hit peak F1, FQ just gets peakier. Cheeka’s off this week, so Phill and Terry look back at the hilariously inept Australian Grand Prix, which saw red flags galore, woeful driving standards and some very shonky stewarding. It was glorious, so come relive it with us. Beer: ff1s.com/pintpintpint Newsletter: ff1s.com/newsnewsnews LISTENER OFFER: a FREE 1-year supply of Vitami...

Second Seems To Be The Hardest Word 22.03.2023

Human rights played second fiddle to racing and DRAMA in Saudi Arabia, as the wrong Red Bull won and the Verstappens were not happy about it. Cheeka, Phill and Terry marvel at the fallout, discuss Fernando Alonso and how no one knows what the pitstop penalty rules are, and look back at all the rest of the fun, games and incompetence from a weekend in Jeddah. Blurb: Human rights played second fiddl...
