Fate/moon archive

We’re in the back half of the Fate route now, and it’s time for stuff to actually start happening! We’ve got a big showdown between Servants, our first look at ‘the curse of self healing’, and Rin bare knuckle boxing with our least favorite blue haired loser. Next time we’ll be covering days 11-12 of the Fate route! Link to Moon Archive Schedule Masterlist: http://moonarchive.art/schedule Section...

the fate route is warming up in more ways than one as rin moves into shirou's house and makes herself nice and comfy. shirou does his best to drive saber into rin's arms. sakura tries her best to stay in the story but rin's just too strong and it looks like we won't see much of her from here on. illya swoops in to take her place though, sharing a heartfelt conversation and dorayaki with shirou at...

The titular Fate route kicks off with us going back in time to relive the prologue as a different character! Say goodbye to ‘talented mage obsessed with her father’s legacy’ Rin, and say hello to ‘loser mage obsessed with his father’s legacy’ Shirou, the actual main character of this game. We’ll also meet some new characters, including a lovable little girl and her pet guy. Next time we’ll be cove...

Fate/stay night is finally here, and with it a new era of Type-Moon! No more vampires, we’re now in the era of Holy Grails, Masters and Servants, and secret blood wars you can participate in after you get out of school for the day. In this episode we jump into the shoes of Tohsaka Rin, a young mage who has high hopes for her next gacha pull. We also spend a little time at the beginning chatting ab...

Shingetsutan Tsukihime (Lunar Legend Tsukihime) is a 12 episode anime that we definitely watched all in one sitting right before we had to record. If we’re a little loopy this time it’s cuz I (Benn) woke up early for that bizarre test of strength and my exhaustion in infectious. But as they say, the true Tsukihime is the friends we made along the way, like our guest Blutweinen! Next time we’ll be...

Well folks, we spent over an hour of this podcast talking about anything we could think of besides Melty Blood. We also learned a valuable lesson about not trying to play a fighting game the day before we have to record a podcast about the fighting game. Listen on to hear me bitch about controls like a complete scrub, fen struggle to keep us on task, and our guest Marin give us a literal tea recom...

Um. Well. You remember all those references to a Caligula Effect 2 conversation we were gonna have at the end of last episode? Well, it got really really long, and we split it off into it’s own episode. It’s an odd duck episode, but I think we have a lot of good conversations! Next time we’ll be covering Melty Blood and the Re-ACT expansion! Link to Moon Archive Schedule Masterlist: https://1drv.m...

We close out Kagetsu Tohya at long last with the remaining Ten Nights of Dream, the Summer Festivals, and Dreaming Drinking Moon! It’s our first little foray into Type-Moon stuff not written by Nasu, for better and worse! We also talk a lot about our yuri teatime for the week being a Caligula Effect 2 spoilercast, but to spare you all a 6.5 hour episode we spun that out into it’s own episode, so l...

Kagetsu Tohya continues with a series of short stories ranging from “this is excellent actually” to “uggggghhhhh”. We were hoping to knock em all out in one episode, but ehhhh this one just barely qualifies as our longest episode ever as is so that didn’t happen. Today we’re covering ‘Good Luck Ciel-Sensei!’, ‘A Story For The Evening’, ‘Crimson Moon’, ‘Red Demon God’, ‘Nanako-chan SOS!’, and ‘Imog...

Wow! We had such a great time with PLUS-DISK, I bet Kagetsu Tohya is gonna be even better! Right..? Join us as we explore a terribly difficult to discuss non-linear exploration style game, lament the watering down of our favorite characters, and struggle through the most ethically challenging sex scenes to date! All that and more in our first Kagetsu Tohya episode, covering the main story, Twiligh...

It’s time to cover our second thing! And it’s… Tsukihime DLC! Okay, cool, we can work with this. Join us as we talk through an interesting short story set after the main plot, a metacommentary wrap party, and some goofy extras as we continue sailing through the digital sea! Bit of a different episode this time around! In the first half, we run down our master spreadsheet of Type-Moon works, talking about everything we are or are not planning on covering! Check below for a public version of said spreadsheet, so you can follow along if you’re interested. Otherwise just join us for fen arguing for the merits of light novels, and Benn complaining about musou games in wha...

All good things come to an end, even Tsukihime. Join us as we cover the final epilogue, Eclipse, answer listener questions, rate our favorite boys girls and routes, and go on the world's longest tangent about Mace Windu. Last time we finished the summary of the Kohaku route! This time, we have a guest and we’re going to do a lot of talking about what we thought about it! You know, like how in a normal podcast the summary would be the first 20 minutes and the rest of the podcast would be a normal discussion. We’ve got discussion of Kohaku’s challenging backstory, praise for our favorite chad Akiha, and finally reve...

Time is running out for Shiki to find and stop the killer, and Akiha can’t stop getting in his way while Kohaku looks on with a smile. How wild is the end of this route? Will Kohaku get a happy ending? Is Akiha going to end up fuckin dead? All these questions will be answered as Tsukihime draws to a close at last! Just some notes- My audio still sounds terrible and fen forgot faer pop filter for p...

So, me and fen faced a crossroads when editing this recording. Did we want to make our longest episode over, or one normal length one and one short one. We decided to split it up, mostly cuz we didn’t have time to edit a 6.5 hour recording. So, bit of a light episode, but it’s definitely a fun one! Shiki once again is struggling to figure out which maid is which while also reeling from a mysteriou...

First off, audio quality is not ideal in this episode. Me and fen are recording in the same room on two mics and we haven’t worked out the kinks yet. Anyway, We’ve been ill for so long, and finally, cheerful Kohaku is here to give us our legally and ethically questionable medicine. The final route in the Far Side has arrived! We already know her biggest secret from the end of her sister Hisui’s ro...

We close out the Hisui route with not the longest episode yet! Why do Hisui give us that spooky look sometimes? What the fuck was up with Kohaku in the kitchen that one time? Which maid is which even? We’ll find it all out today! Our special guest Peregrin returns! We recorded so long that fen fell asleep at the end! We’re all having a great time here at Fate/ Moon Archive, as we move to the final...

Hisui. The quiet, unassuming maid. She’s been waiting for her chance for so long. And now, it’s finally her turn. Romantic lead, and center of attention. No one can take the spotlight away from her this time. And, I’m sure that no maids were harmed in the making of this route, right? Right? Also, we have a guest this episode, our first ever! Waypoint community member and renowned Touhouist, Peregr...

The Akiha route finally comes to a close with this doozy of an episode. We’ve got it all folks: Sick magic powers, wasted potential, and some of the most awkward pillow talk we’ve ever seen— to say nothing of the sex scene dialogue itself! Next episode will cover days 1 - 6 of the Hisui route. We’ve tipped over the halfway point! It’s maids all the way down from here on out! Section Timestamps: Da...

In this episode of Touhou/Moon Archive, we discuss the metroidvania Luna Nights! Wait. That’s not the right game at all. Well, we do talk about Touhou for a little bit, but really we’re building to the climax of the route, as Shiki struggles to figure out if there is another killer stalking the streets, or if it’s been him all along. And, ah, what’s up with Akiha anyway? Next episode will cover th...

We have a bit of a quieter episode as Shiki deals with the aftermath of his final encounter with Yumizuka Satsuki. Luckily, with the vampire defeated, all that’s left is to settle into his new normal of life at the mansion, and finally spend a little time with Akiha. The fact that he was bitten by a vampire will of course, never come up again. Next episode will cover Akiha days 8-10. W-what? There...

Tsukihime never ends! It will continue on, stretching indefinitely into the horizon, an unbroken stream of messy vampire romance action horror for the rest of our lives. Or, you know, a couple more months at least. I (Benn) got scolded for dragging the episodes out with hyper-granular detail again, but I promise I’m working on it. Sub 3.5 hour episodes will arrive, I promise. Also me and fen bicke...

The Ciel Route ends with a bang! Kind of like the bang of my computer exploding while playing one of the last scenes. We’ve got it all- Ciel being cool and depressed, Arcueid being a hot pest, that wildest use of Mystic Eyes Of Death Perception we’ve ever seen, and the most incredible ending in the game so far. And with that, we’ve finished up our business on the Near Side Of The Moon. Next time w...

HEADS UP- This episode is kinda super quiet cuz I (Benn) was too far away from the shared mic the whole time. Oops! Only one more episode of shared mic then we’ll be back to normal, we promise. We continue down the Ciel Route with vampire fighting, a lot of breakups, and a surprising amount of good Arcueid content. Ciel reveals her secret (which we knew from last route), and then some more secrets...
