This week we are joined by music fan (and Eli's girlfriend) Rowan Connelly, to discuss new music from Bleached, Cool Original, and Girl Friday. Then, we dive into some discourse surrounding representation in the indie music world, and the erasure of non-male hardcore fandom.

This week we're joined by Roman Benty of The Zells. We chat about new releases from Mal Blum, Tijuana Panthers, and Crag Mask. Then, we talk about why some bands don't tour, the regionality of indie rock, and how our scenes are seen by other scenes. Plus, we discuss the Song of the Summer as a concept, and wonder does it still mean anything?

Then, we examine Fearless Record's "Punk Goes..." series and the resurgence of Metalcore covers of pop songs. 

This week we are joined by Joel and JP of Pittsburgh Indie Hip-Hop act BBGuns. We discuss new releases from Julia Shapiro, Ramonda Hammer, and Crumb. Then, we talk about their band's almost 10 year history, their major influences, and their creative process. BBGuns' new album "Help Yourself" is out 6/28 on Crafted Sounds.

This week we are joined by Sophie Patka, the Program Director of WCDB Albany 90.9FM, the college radio station Eric and Eli had shows on years ago. We talk to Sophie about new music from Haybaby, Palehound, and Stef Chura. Plus, Sophie opens up the discussion of music as political media, and the elitism between genres.

This week we are joined by Albany NY DIY titan Dan Maddalone. We talk to Dan about his DIY Venue, The Chateau, directing music videos for Prince Daddy & The Hyena, and the state of the Albany music scene. Plus, we chat about new releases from Gemma, The Glow, and Rose Hotel.

Eli went home for Easter, so we are joined by guest cohost Haley Sheehan. We talk in depth about Lizzo's fantastic new album, Beyonce's Netflix Spectacular  and discuss the year so far in pop music. Plus, enjoy a lot of short discussions on things ranging from streaming services, problems within Soundcloud Rap, callout culture, and whether or not Katy Perry released an album last year. 

We are joined this week by journalist Shawn Cooke to talk media ethics and how close to get/not get with your subject. We give our thoughts on the new albums from Club Night, Emily Reo and Weyes Blood. Plus, we discuss the Vulture piece about "side hustles" artists have to do to make ends meet.

This week we are joined by Claire and Stu, both of whom run successful DIY venues here in Pittsburgh. After discussing new albums from American Football, Jenny Lewis, and La Dispute, we talked about what it's like to run house shows & how to avoid being busted by police. Plus we chat about PittFest, a two weekend long series of shows celebrating local Pittsburgh artists.  

This week we talk about the new albums from CHAI, Nanami Ozone, and Angel Du$t, plus Eli fills us in on his trip to SXSW, the bands he saw, and his experiences there. Somewhere in the second half of the episode in a plane flies by and you can sorta hear it for some reason.  

We have our friend Nick Meyers on to talk about new music from Rosie Tucker, Sasami, and Amanda Palmer. Plus, we discuss the music that we first felt was "alternative", and talk about Weird Twitter. This is our least informational episode but also the most fun? 

This week we are joined by our friend Clay Andrews! We had a great talk about where we find music online outside the Twitterverse, whether it be word of mouth or The Needle Drop. We also debate Pitchfork's scoring system, and dive into new releases from Hand Habits, Carly Rae Jepsen, and Crumb. Plus, since this was recorded on Eric's birthday, we give our review of the classic Happy Birthday song.

This week we are joined by The Alternative's founder, Henderson Cole! Henderson talks to us about his new proposal for an American Music Library, a government funded streaming service that would pay artists fairly. Plus, we discuss some new releases from Palehound, Tierra Whack, Apples with Moya, and dive into the new album from Bellows.
