9-1-1 Season 8 Episode 10: Voices 18.03.2025

Mads and Laura break down what was so great about the focus on Maddie's Kidnapping and why that is good for the show overall. And then, of course...there is the goodbye scene. 10/10 would recommend this episode.

9-1-1 Season 8 Episode 9: Sob Stories 11.03.2025

Mads and Laura discuss what was probably one of the best episodes 9-1-1 has ever aired. They also break down how frustrating it is to watch TV in the era of social media because it is rare that we get a real shock anymore. Also, the question that everyone is asking...WHERE WILL BUCK LIVE WHEN EDDIE COMES BACK?

9-1-1: Lone Star Final Three Episodes 11.02.2025

Mads and Laura break down what worked and didn't work for each of the characters in their final storylines. Thank you for the memories 9-1-1: Lone Star.

9-1-1: Lone Star: Season 5 Episode 9 10.12.2024

As we head into the final three episodes of 9-1-1: Lone Star, we find ourselves even more angry at certain character choices already implemented and the events to come.

Season 8 Episode 8/Season 5 Episode 8 27.11.2024

It only took 8 episodes, but Lone Star finally had a great episode this season. But, Laura and I don't want to talk about the giant elephant in the room that comes at the cost of not having Grace around. Meanwhile, on 9-1-1, the silly, goofy filler episode lands pretty solidly in the middle as wholly entertaining and developing for the characters themselves. Check out our full thoughts.

Season 8 Episode 7/Season 5 Episode 7 21.11.2024

Mads and Laura discuss how Lone Star actually had an enjoyable episode despite not liking where Tommy's health journey is going. Then, on 9-1-1, this episode reminds us we can never take ourselves too seriously because this show certainly doesn't.

Season 8 Episode 6/Season 5 Episode 6 12.11.2024

On our 80th episode, we discuss the implications of 9-1-1: Lone Star seeming to get rid of yet another main character of color and how Owen continues to be an unsympathetic character. Then, on 9-1-1, the math is definitely mathing for Eddie to have a queer awakening soon -- if the writers are brave enough -- while Buck experiences his first queer break-up.

Season 8 Episode 5/Season 5 Episode 5 29.10.2024

Mads and Laura discuss the merits of TK and Carlos' marital woes and question the role Owen takes in the horse emergency. Then, we go full out for the Halloween silliness that 9-1-1 is so good at doing.

Season 8 Episode 4/Season 5 Episode 4 23.10.2024

Once again, Mads and Laura are less than impressed with 9-1-1: Lone Star but recognize that Tommy is probably better off single. Meanwhile, 9-1-1 is an almost perfect episode with proof that great dialogue and direction choices can make all the difference.

Season 8 Episode 3/Season 5 Episode 3 15.10.2024

Mads and Laura continue to have issue with the writing of Lone Star this season. Meanwhile, 9-1-1 proves that the perfect formula is just letting Athena and Bobby do the most ridiculous things.

Season 8 Episode 2/Season 5 Episode 2 08.10.2024

Surprising no one, Laura manages to engage in a thoughtful discussion about Lone Star without having watched Lone Star. Once again, Angela Bassett proves she's the glue holding 9-1-1 together. Check out our other thoughts on the latest episodes.

Season 8 Episode 1/Season 5 Episode 1 30.09.2024

While Lone Star might've missed the mark a bit, OG is still kicking and pushing us to feel all the emotions. Listen in as Mads and Laura return to break down the season premieres.

9-1-1 Season 7 Episode 10: All Fall Down 06.06.2024

Mads and Laura discuss the events of the Season 7 Finale and give input about what we hope to see in Season 8. Was having Bobby make a full recovery the best move for the show? Find out.

9-1-1 Season 7 Episode 8: Step Nine/Season 7 Episode 9: Ashes, Ashes 30.05.2024

Laura and Mads discuss the development of Bobby making amends to Amir, his goodbyes to the 118, and what we think is ahead for the finale. Also, we dive into what works and doesn't work with both HenRen's and Eddie's storylines.

9-1-1 Season 7 Episode 7: Ghost of a Second Chance 16.05.2024

Mads and Laura discuss the good and the not-so-well-executed parts of the latest episode. Like how the police can't solve a case. Or how Hen and Karen are walking a thin line with Mara. Or the mess that is Eddie. Check it out for our full thoughts.

9-1-1 Season 7 Episode 6: There Goes The Groom 09.05.2024

As previously mentioned, Laura and Mads love when 9-1-1 focuses on one specific character to drive the narrative of an episode. "There Goes the Groom" is a perfect example of this. Listen as we get emotional talking about Chim's journey to his wedding ceremony.

9-1-1 Season 7 Episode 5: You Don't Know Me 18.04.2024

Buck starts to come out to a few of his family and friends. How did we feel about the handling of these conversations? Tune in to find out! Mads and Laura discuss why they loved the episode but still felt some areas were lacking.

9-1-1 Season 7 Episode 4: Buck, Bothered and Bewildered 11.04.2024

Mads and Laura are joined by friend to the podcast, Kat Pettibone to discuss this monumental 100th episode. Listen in as we discuss THAT moment and what led up to it. Also, how the 118 continues to be a family and Buck's new discovery won't change that.

9-1-1 Season 7 Episode 3: Capsized 04.04.2024

Mads and Laura discuss why Bobby continues to be SMEXY as hell and the hopes we have for the upcoming 100th Episode. Plus, the overall vibe of the 3-part premiere arc.

9-1-1 Season 7 Episode 2: Rock the Boat 29.03.2024

Mads and Laura discuss the merits of the second part of the premiere trilogy. While some parts were strong and worthy of our attention, we have beef with one major plot point. Tune in to see what it is!

9-1-1 Season 7 Episode 1: Abandon Ships 21.03.2024

Mads and Laura are BACK! And excited about the show again for the first time in years. Sit back and relax as we discuss what the move to ABC has done right for this show. Plus we discuss the merits of Bathena and Buddie as the central stories people care about.

Season 6 Episode 18/Season 4 Episodes 17&18 19.05.2023

Mads and Laura discuss what works and what doesn't about the 9-1-1 and 9-1-1: Lone Star finales.

Season 6 Episode 17/Season 4 Episode 16 12.05.2023

Laura and Mads feel as though both 9-1-1 and 9-1-1: Lone Star need to work on a few things to truly be great, but that these episodes weren't the worst ones. It'd be nice if we knew going into the finale what the purpose of Eddie and Buck's separate dating stories all season have been for -- especially since none have panned out in the long run. Chim and Maddie have the proposal they d...

Season 6 Episode 16/Season 4 Episode 15 06.05.2023

Once again, Lone Star coming in with a shockingly good episode. We love a strong Grace moment and for this episode she WAS the moment. 9-1-1 seems to have forgotten the fundamentals of who Hen and Chim are to each other, but we won't hold it against them -- too much.

Season 6 Episode 15/Season 4 Episode 14 29.04.2023

While neither episode was terrible, there were definitely issues with each on that Laura and Mads can't ignore. Overall, both episodes were a fun time which is a rarity with the franchise.
