How have you been amazed this week at the work of God around you? Mark continues to paint a portrait of what it means to be a follower of Jesus. Last week we discovered a follower is amazed at what God does and, in response, is full of faith and expectancy that God will continue to reveal His kingdom on earth.   This week, in chapters 8 & 9, we continue to gaze upon this portrait and disc...

The gospel of Mark contains dozens of stories about Jesus’ teaching, miracles and travels. This Sunday we will look for the key statements of the 12 stories from Mark 4 - 7. Authentic faith is where our everyday worlds meet the risen Lord Jesus. Amazement leads to faith that drives commitment. Many large crowds followed Jesus & they were amazed by his teaching and healings. But did they believ...

During this season of Lent we are working through the gospel of Mark. Powerful and direct, we read the actual words of Jesus. Finally, in chapter 4, his teaching is emphasized, and we read a series of “What the Kingdom of God is like” parables.  The Parable of the Sower is our focus this week. Jesus tells the crowd of ‘outsiders’ that the Word of God has come to them. How will they respond? W...

In Mark 2, Jesus has quickly established a public ministry of travel, teaching & healing. Now the teachers of the law have taken notice and are quite critical of his behavior in various situations. Many questions of sin and forgiveness are addressed in these gospel stories. “Who can forgive sins but God alone?” “Why does Jesus eat with tax collectors & sinners?” Of course, Jesus’ answers a...

Join us as we explore Mark 1 in preparation of this holy season.

What does the life of David tell us about his heart condition, our heart condition, and perhaps most importantly of all, the heart of God? The heart is mentioned more in Psalms than any other book in the Bible, and David wrote almost half of the Psalms. His references to the heart provide another clue to the heart of this remarkable man.

In our study of Luke this weekend, we will see from Jesus’ comments that he definitely knows the hearts of humanity. He has a few warnings about how to guard our hearts, and finally he offers the ability to change our hearts. And that is life-giving.

We will trace Paul’s frequent remarks regarding the heart in his numerous letters and his clear motivation of deep, deep love for the people. The book of Romans best explains the significance of the heart: the road to salvation goes through the heart.

This week, we will survey the book of Proverbs and its call to devotion.  What we store in our hearts really does make a difference. “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” Prov. 4:23 NIV

As we conclude our series on prayer, we are going to interactively explore Acts chapter 4. We look forward to continuing this spirit of intentional prayer and listening to the Lord together. Please continue to turn in your prayer responses, we love to see how the Lord is moving and speaking among us!

When the people of God are ready and come together to pray, the Spirit of God moves! What a joy to pray together for 40 hours this weekend. On Sunday morning we will review the story of a man healed at the temple gates as people were going to a prayer gathering, and we will share our own stories.

Join us this Sunday as we continue to look at the topic of prayer and its connection to our personal and communal walk with God.

This January, we are reading the book of Acts of the Apostles, looking for powerful examples of prayer and the movement of the Holy Spirit. The NT book is the compelling story of the start of the Christian Church. After Jesus' ascension, the disciples waited in Jerusalem following Jesus’ instructions. Having replaced Judas, they now have twelve apostles along with many other family members and fol...
