Crossroads - Weekend Messages

Sometimes as we read the scriptures, we run across something that at first glance appears impossible to accomplish. In addition, if it really appears to be unreasonable, it can even filter into our perception of God’s heart for us. As we unpack this Psalm of David we will gain new insights as to what it means to ‘praise the Lord at all times’.

Everywhere you look, right is wrong, wrong is right, and it feels like evil is winning…and it keeps getting worse! Believe it or not, this problem is as old as time. In the Bible, David felt it, Asaph felt it, and Jacob did too. It makes us want to give up…but there’s hope. Psalm 13 and Psalm 73 give us the keys to not just endure another day, but to thrive in whatever circumstances we’re in.

It has been said: “Trust is like a paycheck; you earn it slowly and spend it quickly.” For many of us, trust is something we place a high value on, and yet we don’t know how best to build it nor how to be generous with it. When we fail to manage trust, we create an environment where suspicion underpins every relationship we have. In Psalm 118, we discover the reason we have to trust in the LORD as...

We all love having our favorite things “on demand.” Unlike at previous times, when you could only watch a program if you happened to be sitting in front of the TV at the show’s airing time or could only hear a song if it happened to be playing on the radio, today everything is at our fingertips. This is also true of God’s favorite songs. We have an entire book called “Psalms” that have the songs o...

We have taken a slow and insightful journey, one verse at a time, through Psalm 23 in our “Wild” series. We have explored each idea, on its own, to learn and be transformed. But sometimes, we can be so enamored with a specific tree that we actually miss the entire forest. To make sure that that doesn’t happen, we will take one more pass through Psalm 23 as a whole to see the big ideas that Jesus h...

So much of life is experienced in a specific place. Think of the home that you grew up in, or the town that you live in now. We all have a unique sense of place. And given our unique personalities and preferences, we all love different places. Some people love the city while others love rural settings. Some love quiet while others like loud. What is so beautiful is that Jesus invites each of us to...

Everyone loves a good dinner party. An experienced host tends to be intentional about the many details that need to come together to ensure comfort, care & provision for their guests. As we continue reading through Psalms 23 today, we uncover a few surprises that take place for David as his Good Shepherd leads him to a dinner table. The details of this dinner come together in such an unprecedented...

Our lives, whether we like it or not, contain all sorts of experiences. From the greatest victories to the most stunning defeats, from things we cannot wait to happen again to things we would never wish on our worst enemies. In that sense, life is like a journey into the wild. Life is full of everything. Thank God we have a Good Shepherd who will lead us through it all. We are excited to begin our...

Our Passover Communion Celebration is a special part of Easter Week at Crossroads. Together as a church family, we will look back at God’s deliverance of the children of Israel, reflect on Jesus’ Last Supper with his disciples, and consider our own experience as we join Jesus as his people on mission.

Who is God? Why am I here? These are the big questions. And how we answer those questions have far-reaching consequences for who we are and how we live our life. When we believe in Jesus, our life is transformed. This Palm Sunday, we will explore the basis of belief. This basis is the very personality of God.

No one likes to be in a battle, let alone a full-scale war. But if the conflict is inevitable, you want to have resources and weapons at your disposal to win the conflict. We often don’t think of prayer as a weapon, but it is. And it’s a mighty weapon at that. Join us for the close of our Into the Deep series on prayer as we look at Warfare Prayer.
