We really enjoyed the first volume of Farmhand, and we really meant to get to this volume sooner than we did, but time is fickle and all that... Anyways, 60-something books later, we are BACK with Farmhand Vol 2, and boy is it seedy. Get it? Well, honestly, it's not that seedy, but I was looking for a pun.. prickly? Let's go with prickly. AND BOY IS IT PRICKLY! In this volume, the sins of the fath...

Issue #10 of the new Jason Aaron Turtle run is out and just like we said, we love T-U-R-T-L-E POWER... as we're ongoing, ongoing and ongoing this new tmnt run!  Also, Dank doesn't miss an opportunity to address how the man was really a child, fell from his pedestal and never really was the one who should of been sitting in it. Viewer discretion is advised Dank really doesn't like Hulk Hogan.   We...

Hey, guess what? Guy Ritchie did a comic book! ... Kinda He didn't exactly write it himself but it sure is advertised as that. It's about a guy who works for a rich guy who takes in homeless guys to help with chores until Russian guys come for the rich guy and they meet a group of other guys who pull heists.  Still with us? Great! Then listen in to hear what we think when three different writers c...

The 90's were a time, and 1994 we were witnessing the Dark Ages of comics, although we didn't know. Welp -The Vision 1994 - helps us realize a lot about the 90's.  This story of Vision spans four issues of what could be an interesting take on "the man" split between -  the red synthezoid , Simon Williams and Alex Lipton. But can they handle the weight needed to portray the robotic depth and densit...

its BONUS season Nu Meatz, we dove back deep into our own episodes  #19 DC Animated Vol.3  to find our original reviews of 2 of Frank Miller's animated films. Its Coke n Dank from 2019.. oh boy - we were younger-dumber and couldn't stop swearing!  Batman Year One (2011) Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Part I & II (2012) #hismillerwasshowing #2drinkminimums  Buckle in This is: The BONUS Shame o...

And in Comic Patrol fashion, we couldn't have a pride series for the Hall of Fame, without a shame episode. It's been a long time coming, but we're here with our second inductee into our very own Hall of Fame for comic book influencers - and this is the part 3 you've been waiting for! We went through almost his entire catalogue of comic books in parts ONE and TWO , and labelled those as "The Pride...

Marvel's first family isn't just called that because it sounds clever. No, the Fantastic Four literally are the first family of Marvel Comics, and to celebrate that - as well as the new, upcoming flick - we are taking it back to 1965's Galactus Trilogy. That's right, the first appearance of the big, planet eating guy and his silver surfing henchman guy. Does this read well 60 years later? Well, le...

There's a new Superman movie coming out! And on top of that, we did some research: One of the biggest inspirations for the new flick (although not the MAIN one, but still), For All Seasons, has now joined our list of Arc Analysis runs (essentially our own book club). Now, if you know us, we claim Superman is one of the hardest characters to write well because of his powerset, but when a writing te...

Issue #9 of the new Jason Aaron Turtle run is out and just like we said, we love T-U-R-T-L-E POWER... as we're ongoing, ongoing and ongoing this new tmnt run!  We are going to check-in with which issues we read from last month and then look ahead for what's coming up in the solicitations for June, and pick out the ones that look most interesting to us. Our Pull List issues we cover in this episode...

Arc Analysis time (which is just something we call our version of book club) and this one is a doozy! Hey, you like aliens? Check. Hey, you like being terminated? Check. And hey, do you have an interest in predators? ...I kinda hope not, but check. AND LASTLY, do you you think mushing these three franchises together could work as a 4 issue miniseries? Well, whether you answered yes or no to that o...

With the Trials of X now behind us, we move forwards into the fiery twists of Inferno! The end of the Hickman penned portion of the Krakoan era, the deepest and craziest secrets come to light, from Moira to Omega Sentinel to Mystique and even Krakoa itself, alliances and relationships will be forever changed. In this episode, we cover Inferno #1-4, but we talk a lot about certain characters and wh...

HOX POX DOX!! ITS A XbyX EPISODE!!!! We return to cover the long celebrated X-Men Krakoa era We're back on the Jonathan Hickman train, and we're waking back up to the world we almost forgot. As you can tell both Coke and Dank have spent countless hours following the Krakoan crew, through fire, magic and now in Beast's brain. So its easy to say we're back to finish what we started. This ain't X of...

It not often we get a chance to read comics from the ground up, but we lucked out with DSTLRY and their new brand imprint. Still the brainchild of David Steinberger  and  Chip Mosher , in May 2023. This is the house that has given artist and writers a fresh perspective, setting themselves up as the house that writers built: "focus on ethics, creator empowerment, and equity. Along with up-front par...

The very first Arc Analysis episode we did was for Volume 1 of a wonderful book called Deadly Class. It took us 62 Arc Analysis comic reviews, before we'd circle back to the kids of the King's Dominion Atelier of the Deadly Arts, and it didn't disappoint.  We are back for the 3rd instalment of the undeniable feverish pairing of pen Rick Remender and ink explosions of Wes Craig This is the continue...

Issue #8 of the new Jason Aaron Turtle run is out and just like we said, we love T-U-R-T-L-E POWER... as we ongoing, ongoing and ongoing this new tmnt run!  We are going to check-in with which issues we read from last month and then look ahead for what's coming up in the solicitations for May, and pick out the ones that look most interesting to us. Our Pull List issues we cover in this episode are...

Well Numeatz & Sawftcheezes we made it! The Comic Patrol celebrates their 100th Arc Analysis, and what better way would we celebrate than reviewing the 4 issue iconic pairing of Mark Waid and  Alex Ross in Kingdom Come. Arguably one of DC's greatest "elsewhere" books. It discusses themes of morality, changing landscapes, old batman, and a terribly named villain - MAGOG! MYGAWD.  Buckle in fans...

*EDIT - DANKAGAIN HERE "thanks for reaching out sawftcheezes and noticing the error, we now updated the full intro into our part 3 of Daredevil: Born Again!" Carrying along the 'Born Again' tagline on your project is a tall order when that subtitle carries the weight from one of the best Daredevil stories ever written, so the next few episodes of our podcast - like we did with X-Men 97 last year -...

Carrying along the 'Born Again' tagline on your project is a tall order when that subtitle carries the weight from one of the best Daredevil stories ever written, so the next few episodes of our podcast - like we did with X-Men 97 last year - will be focused on the new Daredevil Disney+ series. This second part covers episodes 4, 5 and 6, so let's see how they stack up to the old Netflix series, a...

We've been a little held up because we were doing our Frank Miller episodes, but is there a better segue from that iconic writer to something Daredevil related? We. Think. Not. Carrying along the 'Born Again' tagline on your project is a tall order when that subtitle carries the weight from one of the best Daredevil stories ever written, so the next few episodes of our podcast - like we did with X...

It was a long time coming, and in Comic Patrol mythos, we created our own Hall of Fame for comic book writers and comic industry influencers.  With our first inductee we elected Alan Moore to our HOF, we now have reached the time to induct our next writer who made waves of influence and impact through the pages of comics, graphic novels and film: FRANK MILLER  We went through almost his entire cat...

Back at it again for - Saga time! The THIRDINING  And we can no longer lie about this Image published, Brian K. Vaughan written and Fiona Staples drawn: epic-of-spacegasim-proportions! The world is so big but that doesn't stop our eyes from reading more and more. We finally have 3 separate storylines converge all on the same side of the universe, planet Quietus .  Finally the bloodlust Prince Robo...

The last time we opened the pages of this Eisner nominated Image Comic produced - Bitter Root . It was our 31st Arc Analysis episode and admittedly we were dumbfounded... A book so beautiful with vibrant tones, line work and emotion, paired with a concept so original and new but... ultimately stuck with a story too muddled. We have returned back to the second arc of Bitter Root: Rage & Redempt...
