Bleachmouth Postscript
The Postscript features rambling, off-the-cuff discussions with friends, musicians, writers and artists of all types about 5 records (or songs) they love. You’ll hear some hot and not-so-hot takes, as well as strongly held opinions and harsh criticisms. You’ll also hear much milder opinions along with facts and factual errors of all kinds. But hey, it is all about having fun conversations, as well as discovering new music and old gems, hidden or otherwise.

Episode 95: Cousteau'd - Infest "Slave" 11.02.2025 1:36:53
"Cousteau'd - Deuxième Partie" Marc and Tim join me as we do a deep dive on the classic "Slave" Lp by hardcore legends Infest. Of course we used the scientifically accurate "Shedd Method" to pick this one apart. We tried to keep this one as short as the songs on this record, but there was a lot to cover! Enjoy!
Episode 31: Matt Haas (Six Parts Seven/Actual Form) and Dave Ignizio (Square Records), Part 2 02.02.2025 1:40:31
"Voivod - Forever and ever and ever" I have know Dave and Matt for years. Longer than most people in my life. The one constant aside from their friendship is that we are always talking about music. Most of these discussions occur at Dave's record store, Square Records. It made sense to do and interview with them together. I am pretty sure that this was the first live interview I had done for the...

Episode 94: Jessica Anshutz (photographer) 26.01.2025 1:43:09
"Missing mall anecdotes" My pal Jess has been taking pictures in, around and beyond Akron for quite some time. Much of her photography captures the decaying remnants of Reagan-era capitalism (malls) and also of our beloved hometown, Akron. But, as I discovered during our talk, she's been going to shows for much longer. We talk about the motivations behind her photography as well music. We've known...
Episode 2: Malcolm Abrams (writer) 16.01.2025 51:59
"You mean we get to be weird?" Malcolm Abrams is a writer that I met while he was covering music for the Akron Beacon Journal. Back in the early 2000s, we often had lengthy discussions about music while hanging out at The Lime Spider so it only made sense that he appear as one of my first guests. This is one of my favorite episode and one that I definitely felt NEEDED to be republished. The sound...
Episode 93: Wes Dodd (The Bics, Strange Division, Real Dogs) 16.01.2025 1:07:25
"That riff is nasty, just nasty" I have known Wes for over 20 years. We first met in the late 90s while our respective bands were playing shows in Akron at Fusion Records, Annabell's, The Lime Spider and The Mantis in Kent. We've done DJ sets together at local dives as well. No matter what the context, we've ALWAYS talked music. Music of all kinds. It took a minute, but I finally got one of these...
Episode 92: Roadmap for 2025 01.01.2025 9:33
This is just a quick hit to update both listeners of BPS on the future of the podcast. I have some moderately cool things it store. Check it out! Thanks, Larry
Episode 91: Best of 2024. 31.12.2024 2:34:55
"Apocalypse '24, The Year Was Wack. Except the music" Out with the old (men), in with the new. It is the end of a long and eventful. There was a ton of great music released so I invited my frends to talk about 5 of their favorite releases of 2024. Along with Rich and Will, I've got my pal Chris Wyatt from Nickel City Soundtrack in addition to a handful of contributions from past guests at the end....

Episode 90: DJ Foxytrot 27.12.2024 1:26:01
"The Greatness of Patricia Kotero" My pal Athena (aka Foxytrot) is a DJ with a residency at Baxter's Speakeasy and has DJ'd numerous other places and events in the great city of Akron. We met on a night that I was playing records at Mr. Zubs and I've been meaning to have her a a guest ever since. The question is; why haven't I until now? An even more important question; why was I not aware of Akro...
Episode 89: Cousteau'd - C.O.C. "Animosity" 27.11.2024 2:12:37
"Cousteau'd" Instead of the guest picking 5 pieces of music, or a draft or me just rambling as I do on the "Five and Change" episodes, I thought I would go with a new format. I wanted to start doing "deep dives" on records that interest me for one reason or another. I went with one of my favorites, "Animosity" by C.O.C. I am joined by Rich and Will for this one and we used a scoring method develop...
Episode 88: Marc Sabo (Orion's Sword/Excised & Anatomised podcast) 10.11.2024 1:44:34
"Looking for that sponsorship" Marc Sabo is the bassist/vocalist of the doom project Orion's Sword. He is also responsible for the Excised/Anatomised podcast. Each season on his podcast Marc dissects and discusses a band's catalog at length. I appeared on the season dedicated to Prong. He has since returned the favor and made an appearance on the Postscript twice. This is a conversation recorded B...
Episode 30: Gavin Van Vlack (Burn, Absolution, Canonized, Physical Culture Collective), Part 2 07.11.2024 53:54
"Total Cat Failure" Gavin is a lifer. Whether as a musician (Absolution, Burn, Canonized, NY Hoods, Die 116) or as a martial artist, he has demonstrated a high level of dedication to his craft. Which, made him a perfect guest for the podcast! I mean, folks that are in it for the long haul SURELY have opinions on music (and other topics). Gavin did not disappoint! We had a pretty fun and vigorous...
Episode 87: Right Hand Hardcore 07.11.2024 2:49:53
"Right Hand Hardcore" I was feeling a bit nostalgic recently and decided to talk with my buddy Rich Miles and Chicago Will about music from the 1990s. What were we listening to? Does it hold up? How did it shape our listening habits? Why did Dylan ultimately pick Brenda over Kelly? Or did he? Some of things we gab on and on about; Winter, Day of Suffering, Ressurection, Failure Face, Bloodlet,...
Episode 86: I Know What You Listened to Last Summer 30.08.2024 2:03:22
"Rich Miles und Der Ring des Nibelungen" As I grow older, summers seem to go by much more quickly than they did when I was young. I doubt I am the only one experiencing this phenomenon. A brief (and busy) this past summer was, I still managed to see a show or two and get some new records. I thought it would be fun to cap off the season by talking with my dude, Rich Miles about some of the music...
Episode 85: 80s Metal Draft 27.07.2024 2:29:28
"Martin Ain's Frilly Shirt" Finally! That BRAND SPANKING NEW EPISODE that I have been holding over your heads, like an audio Sword of Damocles has dropped. Episode 40: Five and Change "NYHC" 23.01.2024 1:17:35
I have a love/hate relationship with New York Hardcore. The stuff I love – I love A LOT. The stuff I loathe… Well, let’s just focus on the stuff I love. On this mini-episode I ramble on about arguably the most widely known and influential “scene” spawned by hardcore-punk. This certainly isn’t a historical review – just some random thoughts on some well covered ground. If you’re a new to this strai...

"Ugh, Ough, Owwwwwwwww" Eric Starr is the former guitarist of hardcore-punk band D.I.M and currently of Riptide Suicide. He is also the owner of Arkham Tattoo, located in Akron. I’ve known Eric for a really, really long time now and always enjoy hanging out with him. We cover a ton of ground – partly because we don’t get to see each other much – partly because of my verbosity. This conversation wa...

I’ve known Eric for a really, really long time now and always enjoy hanging out with him. We cover a ton of ground – partly because we don’t get to see each other much – partly because of my verbosity. This conversati...
Episode 39: The Danzig Ambush 09.01.2024 1:14:38
It’s an AMBUSH!!! But, it’s also Halloween so we’re talkin’ Danzig. But in the spirit of the season, TRICKS not treats, and jump scares. I’ve attacked several of my unknowing friends with a question; Of Danzig’s three biggest projects (Danzig, Samhain and Misfits), what are the 3 best songs? I ambushed Chris Wyatt (co-host Nickel City Soundtrack), Dave Neeson (writer/artist of Gorgonessa, guitaris...
Episode 19: Jon Vinson (Frayle/ex-Axioma/Persistent Aggressor), Part 1 09.01.2024 1:06:04
"Djent-the dumbest name for a genre...ever" Jon Vinson is a busy guy. At the time of this interview, not only was he the drummer for Axioma, Six Kills Nine, occasionally for Child Bite, Jesus Egg and Persistent Aggressor. But, I think things have slowed down a bit and he currently sits on the throne for Frayle. Jon is also a drum instructor and an insane marathon runner. Jon is incredibly talented...

At the time of this interview, not only was he the drummer for Axioma, Six Kills Nine, occasionally for Child Bite, Jesus Egg and Persistent Aggressor. Brittany also covered music for Akron’s community driven co-op, alt-weekly magazine The Devil Strip. …And we’re related. Sort of… Some of the stuff you’ll hear on this episode: The Wipers, Nirvana, The Beatles, Erykah Badu, Th...
Episode 14: Frank McGhee (Champange, Conservative Military Image/FEDS), Part 2 05.01.2024 1:20:47
"Next time we talk about the Faces, and only the Faces" Frank McGhee is the drummer for Conservative Military Image. But, our paths frist crossed even before he became the vocalist for long-time Akron Hardcore band FEDS. He was also the drummer for the Unclean. Frank was kind enough to help complete the early Persistent Aggressor demos. Frank is an avid fisherman and a good friend. This episode ru...
