Emptied for Maintenance: Surviving Burnout 10.10.2023

Send us Fan Mail This is a heart to heart conversation with my beloved Being Aloud family. This community has grown to be SUCH a safe space. Since we first started in June of 2022, we’ve managed to openly and vulnerably discuss topics that maybe aren’t discussed as openly and vulnerably in the real world. For months now i’ve been receiving messages and emails from brothers and sisters who relate t...

A Letter to Myself: 4 Truths to Live By 03.10.2023

Send us Fan Mail If we’re going to address society, and if we are going to be the kinds of people who are actually capable of making a practical difference in our world, we must first be people who can look themselves in the mirror and say the things that need to be said. This episode will be a confronting mirror. But i know we can be brave and honest enough to face the things that rub us the wron...

A Letter to the Women: Know Your Worth! 26.09.2023

Send us Fan Mail I am especially excited to get into today’s conversation, because i am obviously a woman myself. I can speak from experience. A Letter to the Men 19.09.2023

Send us Fan Mail We (and society at large) can be very harsh when addressing men, women, and ourselves. This series aims to underline the importance of saying certain things, and verbalizing certain truths. But we can do that in a way that neither antagonizes nor victimizes any single member. We can speak the Truth in love, and be level-headed and mature enough to accept different opinions. This s...

How Are You Feeling Today? 18.07.2023

Send us Fan Mail I think its safe to say i've finally figured it out: the single kindest, most hug-like question any of us can ask ourselves--especially on a rough day. Its no surprise that life is tough. And while rooting ourselves in a strong community of friends and family is important for our mental health, we mustn't forget our own responsibility towards ourselves, to show up kindly...

One Thing I Wish I Knew Before I Got Married 11.07.2023

Send us Fan Mail It is absolutely crazy to think that just two years ago i was stuck in a miserable marriage, thinking nothing good or happy or peaceful could ever come of my life. There was no future in sight. Not even one that i could simply imagine. And yet, here i am, one year and eight months after leaving my marriage home, fully living with brand new perspective. I guess the thing about this...

What If I Told You That No One Actually Cares? 27.06.2023

Send us Fan Mail About two years ago my whole life changed when i got married to the wrong person, was harassed at the airport and became the topic of national debate, and then got divorced as a young Christian Egyptian. Life as i knew it was uprooted and i had to reinvent my own definitions of good and normal and healthy and…even just okay. Because everyone around me seemed to have a different op...

Callus Your Mind: Do Hard Things! 20.06.2023

The Difference Between Loneliness and Being Alone 23.05.2023

Send us Fan Mail In a world that is now more connected than ever before– with the internet and globalization and easy travel etc– the line between loneliness and aloneness is becoming more and more blurred. The Best Way to Make Intelligent Decisions: The Great Mental Models 16.05.2023

Send us Fan Mail Today's episode is a book review of Shane Parrish's "The Great Mental Models Vol. 1". This book has drastically transformed my way of thinking since I've listened to it on Audible. Don't Take it From Me: The Art of Critical Listening 25.04.2023

Send us Fan Mail Living in a world in which everyone can become a 'content creator' means that there is now a much greater responsibility on the viewer/listener/reader to think critically about the content they consume. Take up space! 04.04.2023

Send us Fan Mail Today's episode is part one of a two-part series that aims to challenge society in its expectation of us to dim our lights in order not to offend. Should i be feeling this way? 21.03.2023

Send us Fan Mail Today's episode is a book review on Dr. Susan David' s book "Emotional Agility". We're culturally taught to reduce our emotions to 'good' or 'bad'--'right' or 'wrong'. But David argues that this reductive thinking of our emotions produces a rigidity that makes it difficult for us to cope with real life as it unfolds....

Is the gratitude practice horrible for you? 21.02.2023

Send us Fan Mail Our limited minds have convinced us that life can only ever consist of "either-or"s. That two opposites cannot co-exist. It is always either black or white. Good or bad. Up or down. We are limited and finite in our imagination of our emotional capacities, and are constantly reducing our experiences to one thing or the other.  But this creates a problem when considering t...

I Can Buy Myself Flowers 15.02.2023

Send us Fan Mail As we are continually surrounded with reminders of what we don’t have, lets get one thing straight: a partner can add to you and support you on your already-existent journey of self discovery and improvement.
