When England decided to begin the colonization of Australia, then known as New South Wales, it was deemed necessary to help bolster the number of voluntary colonists with prisoners and undesirables. But when you send all your prisoners to be colonists where do you send the prisoners who can’t function as colonists? Answer: Tasmania. One notable location was timber station/turned prison that had be...

On the evening on November 5th, 1975 Mike Rogers was making the return trip with his logging crew from their work site within the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest. Rogers stopped the truck when they spotted a luminous object moving through the treetops that did not appear to be of Earthly origins. As the floating object moved toward the truck, one of the crew decided to try and get a closer look....

The 70’s, a time of great social upheaval. Vietnam, Watergate, the equal rights movement all these events were challenging what had been considered to be traditional values. People were becoming dissatisfied with their lives and beginning to search for meaning in many unconventional places. Enter Terri Hoffman, in 1974 she founded the group known as Conscious Development of Body, Mind and Soul inc...

Almost every human culture from around the world has stories of cities that are hidden beneath the ground. From the mythic city of Agartha said to lay at the center of the Earth or the shining city of Shambala that is rumored to be buried in the heart of the Himalayas. For most of history, these cities were though only to exist in myth and folklore. As archaeology has evolved with better technique...

During the 1960’s the United States and its allies believed they were engaged in a struggle for the very existence of the free world. The Soviet Union seemed to be spreading its influence all across the Asian continent and into parts of Western Europe, and seemed poised to take the leap across the Atlantic. For the Kennedy Administration, it’s problem was an island nation just a 103 miles from US...

In the fall of 1973, friends Charles Hickson and Calvin Parker set out for a relaxing day of fishing. Little did they know, that it was them who would be captured and released that day. The two men claimed to have been victims of an alien abduction. Experiencing a number of classic events of which we now associate with close encounters of the fourth kind. Total body paralysis, a strange examinatio...

The Permean-Triassic Extinction, an event so devastating to living organisms it’s also known as “The Great Dying”. Scientists have used geologic evidence to determine that long term volcanic activity from the Siberia region led to the death of very nearly all life on planet Earth 250 million years ago. The release of so much volcanic material into the atmosphere had caused a thinning of the ozone...

In December of 1941 the Second World War had officially spilled across the Pacific and reached the US. Following the surprise attack on Pearl Harbor, the citizens of the US were set on edge by the fear of a Japanese attack on the West Coast of the US mainland. Some would say that fear was affirmed when a secret Japanese submarine surfaced and fired on the city of Ellwood, California on February 23...

Secured by watchful guards and neighboring mountain ranges from prying eyes in the Nevada desert sits one of UFO history’s most recognizable sites. Having a long history of military secret projects and an air of almost complete secrecy this air base has played host to the CIA, Air Force, and if some reports are to be believed extraterrestrial visitors. Recently, declassified documents have brought...

In Late April 1945 the Third Reich’s days were numbered. Key members of the Nazi party including Adolf Hitler himself retreated to the heavily fortified underground facility known as The Führerbunker. It would be here that the World’s most infamous man at the time would end his life, or so official reports claim. According to Hitler’s last will and testament, instead of letting the Soviets defile...

In Plato’s histories the Greek historian described a city that shined as a beacon of power and technology. A city, so wealthy, it was able to cover it’s walls in brass and gold. It possessed vast military might and a powerful navy which helped it to conquer most of what was the known world at the time. He was speaking, of course, of Atlantis. This mighty nation was said to have been destroyed by t...

The Oracle of Apollo at Delphi, Nostradamus, Edgar Cayce. Soothsayers and fortune tellers of world renown. All made uncanny predictions that have seemed to come true with startling accuracy. In modern times it is difficult for most people to name a source that has given us accurate predictions of the future as those we have gotten in the past. But, is it possible that we could Place Homer Simpson...

Off the coast of Nova Scotia sits a small unassuming island named for the tall oak trees that can bee seen even far out at sea. This island is rumored to have been a haven for ne’er do wells during the Golden Age of piracy in the the 1600 and 1700s. The area was sparsely populated in those days and offered an abundance of natural resources for those who may have found respite there from pursuing N...

A nurse by trade, Cindy lived an unremarkable life while married to her psychologist husband Roy Makepeace. Roy and Cindy separated in 1982 and shortly after began a series of events that would lead to one of Canada’s most mysterious unsolved cases. The following years Cindy alleged she was the target...

Gobekli Tepe It’s not every day you get to rewrite the story of human history. When German Archaeologist Klaus Schmidt took a closer look at what had seemed to be nothing more than a Medieval burial ground in 1994 he quickly realized it was something quite a bit more significant. For almost a decade Schmidt would work to bring to light the mysteries of this staggeringly important archaeological si...

America’s Cold War with Russia drove human innovation forward for almost half a century. From the rocket technology that sent men to the moon to unlocking the secrets of the atom that promised untold destruction as well as unlimited power. If you were a scientist at the time including “application for military use” on your research grant proposal was almost a guaranteed carte blanche from the U.S....

The Russian Federation has the largest land area of any country in the modern world. That’s over 6.5 million square miles of widely varying terrain and sparsely populated areas. What lies beneath the former Iron Curtain? For a country that is widely known for its secrecy and subterfuge it would be folly to assume that the former Soviet Union has never witnessed or recorded contact with UFOs. In th...

England has no shortage of paranormal happenings. Countless locations in the English countryside are steeped in bloody histories and surrounded by local myth and superstition. Where you might expect many of the most haunted places to be ancient castles or foggy moors it is actually an unassuming house in East Yorkshire that claims the title of “The most violent haunting in Britain”. Number 30 East...

October 17, 2018 Canada has officially legalized the use of Marijuana for recreational purposes. The use of marijuana has long been stigmatized by the Governments of Canada and the USA. Demonizing marijuana and associating it with racist stereotypes that persist to this very day. Since the early 1900’s the US has been waging war on the hemp industry. The change in the majority of public thinking h...

Look to the skies! Is that a bird? Is it a plane? Is it a 7-foot tall bipedal creature with bat like wings? When you look overhead you expect to see birds or perhaps even a bat or two. There are around 10,000 different species of birds in the world and over 900 species of bats. That’s a lot of biological air traffic. But, people have been reporting that they have seen more than average pigeon flyi...
