The Other Half

Falling Down walked so Joker could run. This is the original white guy who gets upset at society movie. One day Micheal Douglas just snaps and goes on a rampage in downtown LA. This Joel Schumacher movie was a big hit in theaters back in 1993, but does it hold up today? Check out https://shop.theotherhalfpodcast.com/ to help support the show and get your room some cool art! While Ethan recovers from the latest sickness sweeping the nation, we're posting a recording of a podcast we did with our good friends Mia and Harrison. Mike and Ethan join them to watch the ~newish~ Disney classic, The Princess and the Frog. Please be sure to follow their podcast, Rewind and Reconsider , and where you can get your podcasts. Air Force One depicts Harrison Ford as one of the only competent modern-day presidents! In fact, he's so competent he negotiates with terrorists and still somehow wins. Even if that terrorist is Gary Oldman doing a Russian accent. What a wild ride for this 4th of July. 17 Again is Zac Efron's big new movie from 10 years ago! This is when he wanted to be taken seriously as a serious actor and honestly, he kinda nails it. This movie could have been so much worse than it actually was. Check out https://shop.theotherhalfpodcast.com/ to help support the show and get your room some cool art! The poster of LadyHawke may be more memorable than this box office bomb. Although Mike has a pretty big confession to make in this podcast. Big Business seemed like an unassuming movie from the poster, but it actually turned out to be the biggest test of the concept of this podcast. What if there are two actors playing two different people with each actor having the same name as the other character. I'd reveal more of the plot, but let's just have Mike, the watcher of the second half, attempt to explain it to you. It's a w...

Pinhead was upset we didn't have an opinion on the meme Pinocchio movie, so we had to watch Pinocchio: A True Story to be released from the cenobite's grasp. Unfortunately, we may just want to go back in because this is truly one of the worst movies. Even Pauly Shore and Jon Header can't save what is clearly a mess of the script. Also, they literally took out all the good parts of Pino...

Hellraiser: Judgement follows up on one of the worst movies we've seen for this podcast, Hellraiser: Revelations. It's the same writer from Revelations, but this time they spent more than 11 days making the movie. Can they actually turn it around? Look we did it. We watched EVERY SINGLE Hellraiser movie in existence. We're officially super fans now. In fact, I got a little present to c...

Hellraiser: Revelations is not only one of the worst movies we've seen in the Hellraiser franchise but one of the worst movies we've ever seen for this podcast. This movie is devoid of all life. This movie is a strange remake of the first movie, but with all of the soul ripped out of it. The poster looks like Pinhead trying to squeeze one out! Even Doug Bradley didn't come back to play...

Hellraiser: Hellworld is the movie we've been waiting for. It's the one where Hellraiser finally goes online. Unfortunately, old Pinhead wasn't surfing the web as much as we were hoping for. Instead, we a not very Hellraiser-like film that's still somehow a tribute to the Hellraiser series. Plus we got young Henry Cavil so you know it's a winner. Check out https://shop.theother...

Hellraiser: Deader, could this series get any better? We're at number 7 of the Hellraiser series and the boys are barely holding on by a thread. This can't get any worse than the last two movies, right? This movie follows a reporter named Amy who is tasked with investigating *deep breath* the cult known as the deaders. They can't die! Or are they already dead? I'm not sure we'l...

Hellraiser: Hellseeker may be one of the goofiest names in the entire series... until the next movie. This movie finally brings back Kirsty, our favorite character from Hellraiser II! Hopefully, nothing bad happens to her or her character. The boys may have bitten off more than they can chew in terms of Hellraiser movies. These are starting to get a little rough. Check out https://shop.theotherhal...

Hellraiser: Inferno brings Hellraiser back to its roots, by keeping Pinhead as a little treat instead of the main course. Instead, they feed you a budget version of Seven. Directed by the same director as Sinister and Dr. Strange, Scott Derrickson, Hellraiser: Inferno doesn't quite feel like a Hellraiser movie. All of the pieces to a great movie are there, but unfortunately, it doesn't see...

Hellraiser: Bloodline may in fact be the most ambitious horror movie we watched for the podcast or ever. It's time to learn about the puzzle box and how it was made in a story told across three different timelines. This movie even guest stars Adam Scott! We're now on to the third movie in the Hellraiser series and things are looking a bit grim. The noticeable dip in quality is now apparent and the makeup effects are worse, but budget isn't everything, right? It's time to watch till you can't with the Hellraiser series! We watched the first hellraiser this Halloween and loved it, but we also noticed there are a lot of movies after it as well! We have to watch them all or at least try to get to the one where hell is (apparently) on the internet. We start off with Hellraiser II, which is a direct sequel to the first movie featuring many of the sa...

You can't stop us. This is now a Pinocchio-only podcast! Not really, but after seeing so many high-quality movies we had to get into the muck of Drew Carey's Geppetto. This episode turned out to be more of nostalgia-filled ones where we talked about commercials from the '90s for an exceptionally long time. CODA came absolutely out of nowhere for us. We'd never heard of it before it was nominated. We also never heard the term for which the acronym represents, Child of Deaf Adults. We were surprised when we watched a movie with the same plot as like 90% of Disney Original movies. Does it deserve an Oscar nomination? Belfast is an intensely personal take about growing up amongst massive political unrest from Kenneth Branagh. The Oscars love a personal story so we can see why it was nominated. Although, it feels like the Ford V. Ferrari for this Oscar season. Please forgive us for not knowing our Irish history. It's Oscar season and you know what that means? Adam McKay has another that's somehow in the running for best picture! Don't Look Up is about two scientists who find out that a comet is headed towards earth and try and tell the world about it, but the world is too busy on their cell phones! Mike comes in angry, but Ethan who watched the last half of the movie has good news that makes M...

Tom Cruise and Penelope Cruz go cruising around a rich guy's life and memories in Vanilla Sky. This was meant to be a massively trippy movie back in 2001 when it first came out. Directed by the same guy who wrote Jerry Maguire , Cameron Crowe, Vanilla Sky focuses on a rich guy named David who becomes infatuated with his best friend's lady friend, Sophia. Oh, this is while he's sorta se...
