The Summer of Trump 19.08.2015 1:01:48
How radical is Donald Trump's immigration plan? It would gut the 14th Amendment. And other GOP candidates are jumping on his bandwagon. To be fair, only Scott Walker has echoed Trump's sentiment on this so far, and other, more "grown-up" candidates like Jeb Bush and Lindsay Graham have pushed back on this idea. But the GOP likely voters responding to polls are eating Trump&apos...
MOMocrats MOMochat: After Seattle: #BlackLivesMatter & Changing Presidential Campaign Platforms 12.08.2015 58:04
On the table for today: many white progressives and other allies in Seattle found themselves challenged by the confrontational behavior of Marissa Janae Johnson and Mara Willaford, two #BlackLivesMatter organizers who disrupted Bernie Sanders' planned campaign rally on Medicaid and Social Security this past weekend. When resentment of the disruption turned to epithets and shouting down the w...
Pass the Popcorn: Previewing the GOP Debate with the MOMocrats 05.08.2015 59:48
Ten candidates will duke it out Thursday night in Cleveland for the first GOP debate, and it promises to be a doozy! Especially since Fox News has relegated at least six other serious Republican contenders to an overflow event that starts earlier in the day, which critics have dubbed "the kids' table." MOMocrats Cynematic, Karoli and Donna Schwartz Mills preview the event and talk a...
Planned Parenthood Under Attack - Again 30.07.2015 58:49
Two weeks ago, a shadowy group the Center for Medical Progress released a deceptively edited "sting" video against Planned Parenthood, which has become the opening salvo in yet another battle to defund the non-profit provider of reproductive health services. This week, the GOP in the Senate unveiled a bill that they hope will "ACORN" the group once and for all. MOMocrats Cynema...
What Happens at Netroots Nation Gets Heard Around the Country 22.07.2015 1:00:29
The MOMocrats took time off last week to attend Netroots Nation in Phoenix, Arizona - where they met and learned from progressive activists from around the country. Karoli, Cynematic and Donna Schwartz Mills report back on the newsworthy demonstration by #BlackLivesMatter and #SpeakHerName, which disrupted the planned Town Hall with Democratic candidates Martin O'Malley and Bernie Sanders......
The President on a Roll: A Raise for the Middle Class & New Rules on Segregation 08.07.2015 1:00:11
Last week, President Obama proposed giving millions of middle class workers a raise. This week, he's tackling segregation. This is not bad for what the MSM presumed was a "lame duck Administration" following the 2014 midterm elections. In the meantime: Greece's problems are upsetting financial markets, the GOP clown bus keeps getting more crowded as 15 candidates fight among th...
A Good Week for Progressives 01.07.2015 1:01:16
Forgive The MOMocrats if they feel like they've awakened in some imaginary progressive universe: Last week saw the Supreme Court deliver happy decisions on marriage equality, the Affordable Care Act and Fair Housing - and legal anaylyst Jessica Mason Pieklo will be back to talk about that. The fact that the Roberts Court also decided against Clean Air makes them want to shout "argle barg...
SCOTUS is Not the Only News This Week 24.06.2015 1:00:42
In a normal week, the MOMocrats would be anxiously awaiting the Supreme Court decisions on lethal injection, redistricting, EPA regulations, same sex marriage, Obamacare subsidies. But while the SCOTUS decisions will have long-term impact on the nation, this is not a normal week and MOMocrats Karoli, Cynematic and Donna Schwartz Mills will be discussing a myriad of other topics like: TPP, the Conf...
Another White Terrorist Strikes in Charleston 18.06.2015 1:00:50
MOMocrats Karoli and Donna Schwartz Mills had planned to use the official entrance of Donald Trump into the 2016 Presidential race to talk about the Clown Car that is the GOP field of candidates... but that was before a 21-year-old white thug shot a Bible study group at the Emanual AME Church in Charleston, South Carolina -- killing nine people, including the pastor, Rev. Clementa Pinckney, who wa...
McKinney, Texas and the Start of a Long Hot Summer 10.06.2015 1:00:47
The MOMocrats had a hard time watching the videotape of the police action at that McKinney, Texas pool party this weekend - but, as Cynematic points out, the results may indicate hope for the next generation in the fight against racism. Just keep carrying those smartphones, folks, so we can continue to document abuse when we see it. Also discussed: The lack of planning for what could happen to fol...
The Supreme Court, Obamacare and Religious Freedom 04.06.2015 57:36
RH Reality Check's Senior Legal Analayst, Jessica Mason Pieklo, joins the MOMocrats' for what's become an annual event: a lively discussion of the Supreme Court, as the 2014-15 session wanes. Hanging in the balance: Their decision on Obamacare subsidies for people in the Federal exchange (which could do to the ACA what 50-some Congressional repeal votes could not). And Jessica will...
Who to Blame for the Floods in Texas? 27.05.2015 59:22
Pat Robertson says he doesn't know what to blame for the floods in Texas. The MOMocrats wish safety for Texans and a quick end to the flooding - and speculate about how Governor Greg Abbott will go about rebuilding (with or without Federal funding)? Also this week: lack of funding for higher education, Bernie Sanders' campaign for President and more in this week's podcast looking at...

MOMocrats MOMochat: A Stop to TPP Talks -- Now What? 13.05.2015 1:00:06
An Amtrak crash kills half a dozen people and injuries hundreds others -- when oh when will we set aside funds to maintain our infrastructure? And it shouldn't take a well-trafficked route that members of Congress take to get to DC to spur them into action. We discuss the South Carolina man whose political and physical blindness to the benefits of Obamacare could cost him his eyesight. And fi...
Hillary, Bernie, Carly, Mike and Ben: Just a Typical Week in US Politics 06.05.2015 1:00:26
Just another week in US politics: Hillary Clinton throws down on the GOP regarding immigration reform and Bernie is in the race - while the GOP clown car gets more crowded with Ben Carson, Mike Huckabee and Carly Fiorina. Around the country: In the wake of Baltimore and Ferguson, President Obama launches the My Brother's Keepr nonprofit organization (spun off from the White House initiative...
Where Do We Go After Baltimore? 29.04.2015 1:31:19

Ready for Hillary? Maybe. Maybe Not. 15.04.2015 58:37
Hillary Clinton announced her candidacy this week, so now the score is one clown car and one Scooby van with a whole bunch of reporter clowns chasing after it. MOMocrats Cynematic, Karoli and Donna Schwartz Mills talk about Hillary's announcement video and talking tour, and compare it with the bombast of the Republican field, as well as the absence of any serious challengers to Mrs. Clinton. ...

Claire Conner returns to MOMochat to talk about the alarming inroads the radical right has made into the Republican party, Congress and statehouses around the country. The GOP Senate Has Crossed a Very Dangerous Line 11.03.2015 1:01:21
Since the day he took office, President Obama has endured unprecedented disrespect from the right wing Republican party, which can no longer be characterized as "the loyal opposition" - they crossed that line a long time ago. But until this week, Republican intransigence mainly only affected our country's domestic agenda. This week, the GOP did something that undermined our nation&a...
Hillary Clinton's Emails: Scandalous - Or Mere Distraction? 04.03.2015 1:00:16
Hillary Clinton used a private email account for her correspondence while she was Secretary of State -- a practice that violates the Federal Records Act of 2014. But didn't she leave office in 2012? And why isn't Colin Powell being criticized for the same practice? At any rate, Hillary gave a rousing speech last night at an EMILY's List event -- and barely gave it a mention (disappo...
The Keystone XL Veto and the Need for Comprehensive Energy Policy 25.02.2015 59:40
President Obama vetoed Keystone XL - but there are still plenty of dangers from other, smaller pipelines and oil trains that pass through our communities. What we lack is a comprehensive energy policy that would take us off oil, says MOMocrat Karoli -- although we've started to make some progress over the last six years of the Obama Administration. Also: Net neutrality, Scott Walker's Wi...
