We Doing Filmographies

For our new run, I ask you "Have you ever heard of Mark Darby Robinson?" Your answer should almost certainly be no, unless you happened to live in Wilmington, NC and would see him wandering everywhere 20 years ago. The Darb-ster is someone we came across in "Ding-a-ling-Less", an Onur Tukel film we covered in the Robert Longstreet run. He plays the dick doctor and rattles off some pretty amazing d...

We couldn't handle it, ok? We wanted more spookies. So here's a way too long video covering 5 movies. Hereditary The Birthday (2004) The Lost Boys The Signal (2007) Nightmares (1983)

Oh my god, don't answer the phone! Or maybe you should? Well, we found out what happens "When A Stranger Calls Back" and it's not good! And also it's not the same stranger. New teenager. New scary guy. Same Carol Kane and Charles Durning. Is this the scariest movie Jason has ever seen? Did Jules see this as a kid and check corners of his house with a bat cause that dude could...

We really screwed up watching the sequel first. Here's a whole movie about a babysitter getting scary phone calls. Just 90 mins of heavy breathing. Just kidding, we were both shocked when, much like the 2nd film, it is a completely different movie after the first 20 minutes and we were fully on board with Charles Durning getting his detective on. WHY IS THIS NOT A CLASSIC ON THE LEVEL OF OTHER CLA...

We all sick of zombies yet? There was a time, long ago, when there weren't many zombie movies and it would be exciting when you found one! Just like comic book movies! But, now... This came out in 2018 and I don't think anyone paid any attention. Yes, it's yet another zombie movie, but it's about loneliness, the monotony of the day, and just getting by. Did this surprise us? Did Jason make it to t...

Ok, so you're a little boy. You play with cars. Some dork trips on one at the family store and I guess you gotta die for that. Pretty reasonable, right... People seem pretty split on this one. It's either great or a pointless waste of time. What do we think? Only on way to find out! Tune in! Rate, review (you can pick a movie for us to cover if you do an apple podcast review) subscribe and dive in...

You ever just get so sick of doing all the drugs and all the sex and all the adventuring and then you're like "I dunno, maybe I should call up some demons for some kink"? That ever happen to you? Frank is a real piece of sh*t. He calls up pinhead and the rest of the team and gets hornied into pieces. Then his brother moves into the same house with his scandalous wife and she feeds horny boys to Fr...

Our hombre and yours, David Dastmalchian, plays a late night talk show host who just can't get ahead in the ratings game. So what's a guy to do? Sell his soul to the devil? Turn his wife over to the dark lord? Perhaps book a lil demon baby on the show? I dunno, did you eagerly anticipate and watch this yet? You know the answers, right???? Don't get death puke on yourself, but do tune into this epi...

A mentally ill man stumbles around the roads and woods of wherever and eventually crosses paths with a lady who tries to help him, but he runs off and ends up in an abandoned mansion where some punks come to party and a killer picks them off. Is this the spookiest of spookies? Or was this a spooky mistake? Will the prophet find and help us? Find out on this very special episode of "We Doing S...

Mitchell Stephens (Ian Holm) is a lawyer hell bent on bringing corruption to justice, and money to grieving people. He descends upon a small Canadian town to do just that after an accident rocks the community, which includes school bus driver Dolores Driscoll (Gabrielle Rose), local mechanic Billy Adsel (Bruce Greenwood), local motel maid Risa Walker (Alberta Watson) and her husband Wendell Walker...

Ken Marx (Kenn Scott) and his mom move to a new town so she can find work, but it is immediately apparent that Ken is the odd man out at his new school. After talking to local blonde girl Julie (Christine Taylor), her local jerkweed boyfriend Tom (Duluth’s own Ken McLoed) takes exception to Ken’s philandering and warns him to stay away. It isn’t all bad though as Ken is befriended by local weiner...

A man named Joe (Eric Thal) and a girl named Josephine (Sarah Polley) meet and find out they have trouble with their relationship. Apparently Joe’s So Mean To Josephine.

Andrew Magnus (Alexis Arquette) is a pathetic artist mooching off of their mother Genna Magnus (Margot Kidder), who in turn is mooching off of her brother and Andrew’s uncle, Alfred (Alvin Epstein). In a last ditch hail mary to get accepted to an art school in Africa, the only school left that they could be bothered to apply to or that hasn’t already rejected them, Andrew uses pictures of a man th...

This movie is very long. It is also very good. Does it give you a.. strange feeling? Some excitement *gestures downward*? That's a great question that only you can answer. But we will definitely tell you how this worked on us. "Betty Blue" is the tale of young love. A couple of horn-dogs find each other and keep on pawing. They travel and try to make a life together, with friendships, death and me...

Sometimes, when you teach at a religious school with your secret boyfriend who also works there, you just wanna run away with your secret girlfriend and join a circus. And sometimes people try to slam your movie with an NC-17 cause it's the 90s and how dare you lesbian, even though it would be considered mostly a lifetime movie now. Gear up for the dumbest circus you ever done seen, be happy to se...

About a year ago, Bridget Fonda was a real dream lady to me. One of the most beautiful women I'd ever seen. I've felt that way since seeing Jackie Brown as a kid. Unfortunately, I keep watching awful movies with her in them and the magic is crumbling away. Bridget Fonda, Elias Koteas, Jessica Tandy, Hume Cronyn, Maury Chaykin, Graham Greene and Don Mckellar are in this. You might ask how one could...

Hey, you like jailbait? Come on down to the exotica club for some rumps and stay for shattered souls and the waking nightmare of destroyed lives. Don Mckellar's fifth film finds him back with Atom Egoyan, mining more specific tragedy for another top notch film. The cast is amazing, and McKellar kinda looks like a penis dressed like a real dork. Tune into yet another odyssey into Canadian film, fil...

Do you know who Glenn Gould is? I did not. Nor did Jules. You wanna know more? Well, it's time to listen to us talk about... 32 Short Films About Glenn Gould. This came out in '93 and it's quite the mix of narrative, music and interviews, all attempting to give you a feel for the late, legendary composer. Is it successful? Is it entertaining? Is Colm Feore handsome and amazing? Did Don McKellar co...

Do you know about "Red Shoe Diaries"? I mean there's a TV show that went a while, but also a movie that kicked it off. I never thought about it much, but i'm pretty sure "You Must Remember This" and their erotic 80's and 90's series is what caused this podcast. They cover this here movie pretty extensively and we were looking for our first movie and here we are....

Don Mckellar's fourth movie is called "Giant Steps". And honestly, this movie is very bad. It's mind-boggling. There's this high school kid from Eastern Europe who really likes jazz. Billy Dee Williams is his hero, a jazz man. They kind of meet in one of the dumbest sequences I've ever seen in my life. It's like an alien came here and had an idea of how people talk and wrote this but then hired a...

Are you ready for another road trip? Directed by Bruce Mcdonald? And written by Bruce Mcdonald AND Don McKellar? And starring Don McKellar AND Valerie Buhagiar? AGAIN?!?!?! Hop in, it's time for Don Mckellar's third credit, "Highway 61". Mckellar is a dorky barber who finds a dead body in a bathtub ( in the backyard of his shop). Valerie Buhagiar, a complete stranger, shows up and talks him into a...

Don Mckellar's second movie is a bit of a masterpiece. Hold onto your hats, its time for The Adjuster! Atom Egoyan tells a story of an insurance adjuster who bones down all the people he's helping file claims and they all stay at a hotel run by some religious people who just love the adjuster. Who is the adjuster? ELIAS KOTEAS! I bet you thought I was gonna say Don McKellar, but you were wrong......

Telly Savalas. Keith Gordon. Greece. Strife. Big dogging. Is this movie fantastic? Is it whatever? Are the two leads weirdly fantastic? Is this video the only place you're going to find any footage of this movie? I am the man now, dawg? Tune in! We covered absolutely every Keith Gordon thing we could find. We dug deep. I emailed people, I tried to find torrents in weird places, I checked archi...

Hey there buddy, you know this here Don McKellar? He's something kinda special, eh? ROADKILL A band of di*kheads can't play the shows on their tour because their lead singer wandered off to find himself. Ramona sets off to round 'em up for her boss, who's a lil but of a grouchy gus. Along the way she meets an annoying and kinda dumb cabbie, a documentary crew whose RV is spooky at night, a mysteri...
