Wake Before the Day

In Acts 12 we read about the church praying powerful prayers yet being in disbelief when the prayers were answered! The Bible also compares and contrasts Herod and the apostles when it comes to receiving praise. Let's dive in and learn from Acts 12. @klarckorver @bobbiekorver @erclosangeles www.erc.la info@erc.la

Acts shows us that God can bring a great deal of good and growth out of the pain and messiness of life! @klarckorver @bobbiekorver @erclosangeles www.erc.la info@erc.la

Don't count out anyone for being outside the reach of God's love! We all have "those people" in our life. God loves them, we should too! Acts 10 is one of the most important chapters in the New Testament as it marks the first time Jews and Gentiles got together for worship.  @klarckorver @bobbiekorver @erclosangeles www.erc.la info@erc.la

It takes courage to love your enemies and know that God wants to use your past to bless your future! @klarckorver @bobbiekorver @erclosangeles www.erc.la info@erc.la

Growing pains = growth. While the church is being hunted and harmed the Gospel is spreading all over the world. Cultural barriers are being torn down and we see that the Holy Spirit not only lives within us for sanctification but also comes upon us for empowerment. @klarckorver @bobbiekorver @erclosangeles www.erc.la info@erc.la

In Acts 7, Stephen reminds us the importance of knowing the Story of God and how it can guide us now! @klarckorver @bobbiekorver @erclosangeles www.erc.la info@erc.la

What happened in Acts 6 has forever changed the Church - the role of deacon is created. The Bible teaches us the important role deacons are to have caring for the community. Not long after this persecution against the church breaks out and in the midst of the suffering God is working. @klarckorver @bobbiekorver @erclosangeles www.erc.la info@erc.la

People often don't change with permission they change with pressure. How we respond to situations often reveals what we believe! @klarckorver @bobbiekorver @erclosangeles www.erc.la info@erc.la

Will we let the fear of others silence us? Find ways to speak of Jesus and let the Holy Spirit do his work! @klarckorver @bobbiekorver @erclosangeles www.erc.la info@erc.la

When we bump into people in need we might not always have food, money or clothes to give. But we will always have Jesus to give people! When the Spirit invites you to take a bold step, will you? @klarckorver @bobbiekorver @erclosangeles www.erc.la info@erc.la

Just like gas powers a vehicle, the Holy Spirit empowers the Christian. Is he empowering your life or are you motivated by something else? @klarckorver @bobbiekorver @erclosangeles www.erc.la info@erc.la

If we didn't have the book of Acts - the rest of the New Testament would be very confusing! Who are these people? How do they have the "power" to do what they are doing? Acts connects the ministry of Jesus through the Holy Spirit to the Church, this is a game changer for us. Let's open up and explore! @klarckorver @bobbiekorver @erclosangeles www.erc.la info@erc.la
