Day 7, Part 5: Rendezvous at the Aldergate Museum - The Aldergate Museum contains a unique and infamous trove of arts and artifacts, but the museum itself has a history as long and strange as the collection it contains. It's also neutral territory for the University - which makes it the perfect place to hold my first meeting with the University Council. As luck would have it, the Musical Egg - the...

Day 7, Part 4: Heavy Traffic on Memory Lane - The shortest distance between two points is never a straight line - not in Aldergate. To get to my first meeting with the University Council I've got to traverse miles of twisty medieval streets and decades - if not centuries - of troublesome history, my own and otherwise. Looking back now, I can see that getting the job of Vice-Chancellor was, perhaps...

Day 7, Part 3: Vivat Rex and Curat Lex - All hail me! The die is cast, the ceremony is complete, and the internet is loving it. Do I wish that the world cared more about my historic inauguration than about Aldergate's student bodies? Yes, I do wish that. But no matter. Sammie's murder is still a secret, my tracks remain covered, and Sir Adrian Ward is now officially the 51st Vice-Chancellor of the...

It’s the year 2050 A.D., and two desperate men have just very badly bungled the robbery of a 21st century mansion. A thin, narrow-shouldered thief by the name of Larson may have killed the owner of the mansion, and his partner in crime, the fair-haired Fitzgerald, breaks a security beam, triggering the burglar alarm. They’d better hurry, because time is running out. Learn more about your ad choice...

Day 7, Part 2: The Morning Before History - The day has come at last. I didn't think I'd live to see it - and I may not live long enough to enjoy it - but here we are. Day 7, Part 1: The Self Unknown - Mysteries are more fun when they happen to other people. It's not that I enjoyed the prospect of starving to death in my own basement; really, I'm awfully glad to have escaped. I only wish that I had some idea of how I did it. At least this time OtherWard - the self who isn't me - decided to be helpful, rather than nearly killing me. Nevertheless, he remains an un...

Day 5 or 6, Part 2: Entombed! - Is this the end? Trapped by unknown enemies in my own cellar, battered and starving, stalked by shadows and haunted by echoes ... is this the final chapter in the strange life of Adrian Ward. No, no it isn't, but it's a pretty dashed tense and unpleasant one, and I've really no idea how I'm going to get out of it.   Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone....

Tonight, we’d like to take you to a place long forsaken by any benevolent spirits.
