The Godcast

We got a request to review a video by a channel called "Faith by Reason." In it the guy alleges some...well, pretty goofy things about God as part of his answer to the problem of evil. Let's dive in and discuss why maybe apologetics people need to do more theological training.  Emails in the second half! The video in question: https://youtu.be/TOfFWz7Ad3s Koine in conversation: https://youtu.be/6R...

So the "vibe shift" happened, right? And now suddenly all sorts of people are learning about the Jews and the Zionist state: public opinion of both of these has tanked. But with this comes a new risk for our guys everywhere, namely that any conman can take that JQ awareness and sucker anyone into believing anything JUST because they can find a Jew somewhere tangential to their argument.  As an exa...

So what if you were a rocket scientist but also a brain surgeon but also a musician but also a ninja but also a competition shooter but also a particle physicist and you had to help Rastafarian aliens fight space Nazis because if you don't then the Soviets will nuke the world? Well you'd probably be Dr. Buckaroo Banzai, PhD., and this would be your movie. Let's dive into the wacky bag of unexplore...

For today's episode, we will be gargling red pills until we pass out on the floor of the Denny's bathroom as we discuss how the Church has treated the issue of women's ordination. Spoiler warning...you'll probably need a stiff drink to chase down all this nonsense. Stuff we talked about: https://www.earlychristianwritings.com/text/didascalia.html   https://anunslife.org/blog/nun-talk/are-sisters-a...

For today's episode, Super is joined by Ben, the head of the Ohio Nationalist Network and a devout Catholic. Ben offers great insight into how to navigate being a dissident right activist while also being faithful to God. How do you deal with your Church body doing liberal stuff? How do you keep religious fights from destroying your nationalist group? How do you discuss things with people in your...

As promised, here is our THIRD Popcorn N' Soda on the unfortunate classic, Christmas Coupon . With a very special guest, Super looks into the spiritual origins of the movie, and the centuries-long conspiracy that led to its production. Hey! Don't let them fool you, Christmas is TWELVE days, not one. So let's keep the spirit of the season going with some chilled out reading. Martin Luther's writings on Christmas were awesome, so let's read three of his homilies and then do some emails before getting back to our regularly scheduled content. Here's a bunch more Luther stuff if you want to sink your teeth into what the world's best...

Sadly, in the Current Year there are con men, glowies, and weirdos everywhere fighting for real estate in your mind. Their goal is to make you think and do what they want, and in order to do that they need to trick you into constant consumption of their ideas. Thankfully, there is a helpful set of rules to keep your mind safe: if they can't summarize their ideology on a 3x5 card, explain it in 2 m...

Today Super (and his guest in the second half) continue the Woman Question series with a stream-of-consciousness episode on the chaos surrounding the sexual part of the Woman Question. What is it women want? Why is female desire hard to figure out? Can we trust the scientists, bro scientists, or women - or should we just trust what our Bibles say? Let's have at it! Women are sinners too: https://c...

How long has it been since you've heard "we need a new religion based in SCIENCE! but also mystical sounding so people are motivated to do good in society?" Yeah, about ten years probably. For today's show, Myles and Super go back to that 2015 mindset and respond to someone's extremely 2015 takes (that they came up with last month). "Soothism:" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iLpCMljJxPY   The rea...

The Dissident Right's general position on women is that they are bad. The most common Dissident policy proposal regarding women is that bad things should happen to them. For some reason, this has not been well-received by the Woman Community despite being pretty diplomatic, so let's go back to the drawing board. What is it we're supposed to believe about women in the realm of civics, economics, an...

Professor Jiang (ok?) has decided to REDPILL us (ok?) on how St. Paul was actually a Roman SPY, okay? And in the midst of dissident right talking points going mainstream and a rising youtube denomination (ok?) it's time to answer, again (ok?), this weird accusation. Okay? The lecture in question (ok?): https://youtu.be/Reh-ADlllUM   Who is professor Jiang? Here's an article, okay? https://www.fina...

We here at the Godcast are excited for the regret we will experience in publishing the first in a brief series of episodes concerning the Woman Question. What is a woman? What makes a woman a woman? How do we approach the WQ in light of the Great (illusory?) Vibe Shift of 2025? Before anyone asks, the break music represents what women have to choose from these days. Stay tuned for emails in the se...

So how is Protestantism doing these days? Last year it was a tire fire, but this year it's a tire fire but with some fun schisms and Rome doing worse. For our annual State of the Reformation episode, Super is joined by the wise and eminent Crux Invictus to bring you a snapshot of how the Church is doing and discuss our interesting (psychotic) times. Stuff we brought up: https://www.australianchurc...

Golems! What are they? Where does the concept of a robot mudman come from? Why have jews historically thought they could make them? For the last episode in Spooktober, let's do a quick deep dive and try not to become golem ourselves. General rundown: https://www.jewishencyclopedia.com/articles/6777-golem#1137 The movie we watched: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6dvWPN8OMA Geller's rundown: https...

Hey fam, got four hours to burn watching a movie made by someone who heard about the Exodus that one time? No? Well how about listening to our review of it instead? Let's talk about Cecil DeMille's timeless (and deeply questionable) 1956 magnum opus, The Ten Commandments . Also featuring a song from yours truly.  The Ten Commandments : https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0049833/   If you'd like to suppo...

October is the spooky month here at the Godcast, so let's take a look at the accidentally comedic phenomenon of muslim "djinn hunters" and talk about genies. Spoiler: genies are just demons, islam is a false religion, and there is absolutely nothing new about their behavior.  We played video of "djinn hunters" doing their thing on stream here: https://t.me/VeryLutheran . The audio has been truncat...

October is the spooky month innit? And what could be spookier than getting spooked even in your sleep? Let's have a stream-of-consciousness chat about nightmares, and more particularly why they are not always a bad thing.  This of this as an addendum to this episode here: https://sites.libsyn.com/106598/the-godcast-episode-253-sweet-dreams-are-made-of-this Here's a couple of nerds talking about dr...

"What happens when we die?" That is not a question that Christians should be asking, since we are promised eternal life. We can trust that Jesus will take care of us, so there is no need to worry. But in the world of nonbelievers, the question bugs them so much that they have turned to HECKIN' SCIENCE to try to answer it.  What have they found? A bunch of confused, contradictory experiences that d...

A couple years before COVID, there was an attempt to take over the dissident right through an eclectic ideology that appealed to a certain demographic of people. With their reductionistic worldview, aggressive tactics, and manipulative dishonest argumentation the influencers that pushed it were able to do two things; take over the discourse and ruin a movement. In July of 2020, it was intentionall...

Hey did you know that some people in the early Church were taught that martyrdom was their only way to Heaven? Just like muslims? Oh, and they were also taught that everyone born after the 2nd century AD weren't going to get any chances for salvation. Let's finish up reading the Shepherd of Hermas and try to curb the influence of this rotten bleeding hemorrhoid of a book. Emails in the second half...

Rescue those who are being taken away to death;      hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter. If you say, "Behold, we did not know this,"      does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not he who keeps watch over your soul know it,      and will he not repay man according to his work? -Proverbs 24:11-12 Today, Crux and Super cover the responses to the murders that have happened...

Welp, it finally happened. Someone who wants America to be a Christian nation with a Christian government decided to do a heckin' violence to get what he wanted. And how did he plan to do it? Well, he planned to shoot up a church. Thankfully law enforcement stopped him before he could, but he won't be the last. Let's dig into Joshua Michael Richardson's recent past and find out what made him decid...
