Our World Our Time

When The Queen died a lot of dirty laundry came out of the blue. Justified or not one thing is true, The British Empire was all over the place. The history books may curb the evil by saying that is how things went down back in those days, but it doesn't change the damage done. This is late but still something that should be check on. Do your own research and enjoy.

Last week the news of FN Meka getting a deal with Capital Records was all over the place. This week we find out the AI rapper was dropped from the label. There is a major issue with this and Blackface isn't one of them. Tell me what you think.

One of the greatest Hip Hop shows of the 90s is hands down The Wake Up Show. Even today you can look up just how much of an impact this show had on the culture. As always do your own research and enjoy.

Breakin is one of the five elements of Hip Hop. The others are Emceeing aka MCing, DJing, Graffiti and Beatboxing... Yes we started and own Beatboxing as a culture. This Breakin thing finds it's roots in the Spanish community of New York. It dates back to the late 60's early 70's and takes center stage in the early days  of Hip Hop. All August I'm representing Hip Hop. I'm not if all of you o...

Sesame Street is one of those things you rarely question how did it come to be. One day someone put you on to it as a young child and the impression it made stuck with you for life. We all know the theme song and how today's episode was brought you by the letter blah blah blah and the number blah blah blah. But I found out a while ago that all of this was put in play because people wanted Black ki...

I come baring gifts with this episode. I say that because to truly understand how great this dude is you have to see his work. Nelson Boateng has taken plastic bottles and turned them into houses. Yeah, it has been done before, but the homes he is putting out look remarkable. I had to add a video with this episode. To see the video click here , here being my Wordpress page of the podcast. If you h...

We've seen the cookies in stores and they are good cookies. We know it is a Black man, but this dude has a great story. Author, Talent Agent, Entrepreneur and was in the Air Force. This is from last year. I'm still trying to update these as i go, there shouldn't be that many old ones left. With that being said, this is about a great man that should be known to everyone. Percy Julian who had come up with multiple inventions as far as medicine is concerned. Please do some research on this man and enjoy.

This... This is a conversation piece for sure. The word Swarthy clearly means dark skinned and is an old timey word that has lost its usage. But way back in the day I mean Pre Civil War this word was used to describe many men and women. In fact it wasn't an insult but more like distinction device to separate Black people who were of European descent and slaves from Africa. As time has moved on. al...

When you think of The Grand Ole Opry you don't of many Black people if any right? Trust me you're not alone. This brother by the Deford Bailey had became a mainstay in The Grand Ole Pry. The Country Music Hall Of Fame inductee gets overlooked as the first Black person to rock in the theatre. Please do you're research on this man and enjoy

When the term unsung pops up this is one of the faces you should see. Bayard Rustin... This man literally was The civil Rights Movement. This is history in the making, African countries decriminalizing gay marriage. It is a major step for many countries, not just the five I speak about. Father's Day is around the corner... Salute to all the fathers around the world. Please do your research and enjoy.

The Senegalese Tirailleur fought on behalf of France. I didn't say the name because I didn't want to butcher it, yeah I'm starting to pull back from just messing names up. With that being said, the fact that France had more soldiers in the war from Africa than the other European countries says a lot. I spoke briefly about those independent African nations that also joined to fight against Germany....

Been out here on some Public Enemy stuff hard as of late. This is me being on my soapbox talking about Memorial Day and how Black people not only started it but should embrace it. It's very hard for many of us as Black people to be patriotic and even if you knew how much we have given to this country that bitterness would still control our emotions. I'm not saying they're right or wrong, I'm sayin...

A form of the folding chair has been around for centuries, that is an absolute fact. The version we are talking about here is one that still is relevant today. You see it at games, churches, schools an many other places. Please do what research you can on Nathaniel Alexander and enjoy the show.

When you speak on accomplished MCs in the game Jay Z is one of those names that come to mind first. We speak on how Jay Z and all other relevant MCs from the 80s & 90s should get their respect. The 90s was a such ever changing period for Hip Hop and to stay in the mix and be on top of your game says a lot. You can hear Live At The Oasis live on legalcrimeradio.com Wednesday 8pm and Saturday 6p...

The influence of what The Black Panthers started in Oakland was felt world wide. This is a great example of that fact, The Polynesian Panther Party in New Zealand put in that work. Before I spoke about them I talked about the incident in Syracuse New York where a Black boy was not quite apprehended, more like in custody of the police for stealing a bag of chips. You know we talk about everything o...

In a celebratory mood for Ketanji Brown Jackson I put the Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month on for a quick run down of this historic moment. Please do some research on this woman and enjoy.

This episode is about Mary Magdalene. I chose the picture from the mini series solely out of pettiness. I was not aware of the hate the show got for many biblical inaccuracies, one being a Black Mary Magdalene. That conversation/debate is something I can get into a later date. For now I'm talking about important Mary is to the concept of being saved in the belief of Christianity. Please do your re...

I feel if I'm going to talk about biblical figures I should post on Sunday. This is about Zipporah, the wife of Moses. I also talk about my love for A Tribe Called Quest, R.I.P Phife Dawg. As always, do your research and enjoy.

Here is a great piece of Black history, two cousins, Roberta G. Thomas and Flaurience Sengstacke, traveled Europe during the early 1930s. The stories of their travel were published in the Chicago Defender. Do your research on these women enjoy.

This post is from last year, before I even thought doing this podcast, and I never got around to posting this. It makes more sense to do so now with it being Women's History Month. This is about The Queen Mother Yaa Asantewaa of the Ejisu of The Ashanti Empire. Her father was exiled and she stepped and motivated her people stand up against The British in the late 1800s. Please do some research on...
