Nashville First Baptist Church

Discipleship Pastor Bryan Barley leads us through Exodus 18, where Moses learns that freedom requires wisdom, not just miracles.

Senior Pastor Thomas West continues our journey through Exodus with a message called Way Maker. The God who drew Israel out of Egypt still draws people out of fear, shame, and sin—into freedom, worship, and mission.

Today's Scripture takes us back to Exodus 12 and the night of the first Passover.

Today, we continue our journey through Exodus with a message called Battle of the Gods. Pharaoh once asked, “Who is the LORD that I should obey him?” That same question still echoes in our lives today. The good news is this: God has not left the question unanswered—He has revealed Himself as the only God, the Creator, and the Savior.

Pastor Thomas West preaches on the book of Exodus and walks with Moses into a moment we all know too well — when things go from bad to worse. Moses obeyed God, and instead of a breakthrough, he faced rejection, complaint, and despair. Yet in the middle of the mess, God revealed Himself afresh: “I am the LORD… I will bring you out… I will redeem you… I will be your God.”

Senior Pastor Thomas West continues his series in the book of Exodus with the story of Moses at the burning bush.

Today, Senior Pastor Thomas West begins a new series on Exodus. From darkness to light - the story of the Exodus is the story all God’s people share. From the birth of Israel to the church today, God delivers and dwells with his people.

This is the conclusion of our Faith & Work Series. Discipleship Pastor Bryan Barley covers how one of the main ways we honor God through our work is by doing it well.

“How do we keep from seeing work as meaningless toil—or turning it into a towering monument to ourselves?” Pastor Thomas West continues his series on Faith and Work today.

Senior Pastor Thomas West explores how work isn’t random—it’s part of a bigger story.

Senior Pastor Thomas West begins a new series on Faith & Work. We believe the gospel isn’t just for Sundays—it’s meant to shape every part of our lives, including the work we do throughout the week.

One year ago, we cast a 10-year vision to become Nashville’s Church—for the good of the city and the glory of God. Today, we return to that vision with grateful hearts and expectant spirits.

Today we’ll explore what self-control really is, why it matters, and how Jesus—the most self-controlled person who ever lived—is both our model and our means.

Reading from Matthew 11:28-30 and Galatians 5:22-23, we look at one of the most overlooked but needed fruits of the Spirit: Gentleness.

The Bible tells us, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8). Senior Pastor Thomas West delivers a message that digs deep into the fruit of “faithfulness.”

Bryan Barley delivers a message focusing on “goodness”—a fruit of the Spirit that points us toward lives marked by integrity, courage, and moral beauty.

Senior Pastor Thomas West speaks on "Kindness," the Spirit-shaped kindness that Jesus taught and embodied.

Today, we’re continuing our summer series, The People We’re Becoming, by looking at a fruit that’s both beautiful and hard—patience. Discipleship Pastor, Bryan Barley, is preaching.

Pastor Thomas West explores what it means to become people of peace in an age of anxiety.

We're exploring the Fruit of the Spirit today, with a focus on "Joy." We hope that you encounter the joy of Jesus today in the music, in the message, and in the presence of this community.

As summer begins, we’re entering a new teaching series we’re calling “The People We’re Becoming.” Over the next nine weeks, we’ll explore the Fruit of the Spirit—beginning today with Love.

Welcome to worship with us today! We will complete our series, Fresh Wind & Fresh Fire, this Sunday. Bryan Barley, Discipleship Pastor, delivered our sermon today.

Everyone has a role to play. No spectators. No spare parts. Just one body—fully alive when each part plays its role. Church is the place where you are needed and wanted.

We’re in week three of our Fresh Wind & Fresh Fire series, and we turn to one of the most powerful promises Jesus ever made, “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you…” (Acts 1:8).

Fresh Wind & Fresh Fire, exploring the promised gift of the Holy Spirit — the presence of God with us and in us. We look at scripture from Joel 2:28-29 and Acts 2:1-21 today.
