Happy Dia de los Muertos! To celebrate, we chose Guillermo Del Toro's debut feature, Cronos . When an ancient device that extends human life shows up in an antique shop, the owner stumbles into a world of addiction, violence and the supernatural. An incredibly impressive debut and a super cool movie! Support the show

To celebrate Halloween, we chose this cult classic, which stars Rupert Everett as the laconic nightwatchman of a cemetery where the dead are returning to life, but it's no big deal. Just part of the job. Part hell yeah, part what the fuck, and part ewww, this movie covers all the horror bases and has fun doing it! We hope you enjoy Cemetery Man ! Support the show

DANIEL KRAUS is a New York Times bestselling author. With Guillermo del Toro, he co-authored The Shape of Water, based on the same idea the two created for the Oscar-winning film. Also with del Toro, Kraus co-authored Trollhunters, which was adapted into the Emmy-winning Netflix series. Kraus’s The Death and Life of Zebulon Finch was named one of Entertainment Weekly‘s Top 10 Books of the Year, an...

This super stylish film takes place in the gay porno scene in Paris in 1979 when an unexpectedly kinky killer is on the loose and looking for young, handsome victims. Unpredictable, artsy and sexy, this film gets bonus points for being centered around actual *film* as well! Support the show

Finishing our round of Stephen King films is 2019's Doctor Sleep (Director's Cut). Mike Flanagan took on not only the sequel to one of Stephen King's most famous books, but also Stanley Kubrick's legendary film, and the weight of that is not lost in this film. With lots of visual tricks, cool FX and nods to the The Shining to look forward to! The director's cut gives the a...

2007's The Mist, the third in our round of Stephen King films and a first time watch for both Teri and Julia, was adapted and directed by Frank Darabont. When a mysterious deadly mist rolls into a small town, a group of people stuck in a supermarket together try to decide how to survive. Stupendous performances and a love it or hate it ending! (We love it)  Support the show

The second in our round of Stephen King films is 2016's CELL - a first time watch for both Julia and Teri -  starring John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson as strangers who meet during a cell phone induced apocalypse and must now fight to get home against those the cell phones have turned into zombiesque beings. Don't worry, we were surprised we hadn't heard of it either, especially whe...

Starting a round of Stephen King films is CUJO , which surprisingly neither Julia nor Teri had seen before! This 1983 classic doesn't disappoint with the tension or gore and both Dee Wallace and Danny Pintauro give mind blowingly amazing performances. A book and a movie that gave the world shorthand for "bad dog" - not too shabby at all!  Support the show

A father, mother and daughter team wrote, shot, starred, produced, composed and directed this film, and they certainly know what they are doing! An intimate thriller, with gorgeous lighting and cinematography, awesome performances and a cool premise, this film shows that anyone can make a great horror film, even if it's just a family of three doing it together. Respect! THE DEEPER YOU DIG! Su...

If you took a Jodorowsky film, an Argento film & a Polanski film, mashed them up and added a bit of feminism to the cauldron, you'd come away with this movie. Unexpectedly art house, with gorgeous cinematography and a refreshingly monochromatic take on the fairly tale, this film takes an old story and makes it new again. With an astounding lead performance by Sophia Lillis, and a fun take...

Underwater - "Take the bunny" So if you took Alien and set it underwater, and swapped out Sigourney Weaver in her underwear for Kristen Stewart in her underwear (but also wet) you'd basically have this film. ALSO there is a twist ending to this film that will delight nerds everywhere...only we can't tell you what the twist is. But what we can say is trust us -  this film is cla...

Ready or Not - "We have to protect the family" Samara Weaving KILLS as a naive newlywed who discovers that her in-laws are evil in more ways than one. A fun, gory, silly romp, this film keeps you guessing and the pacing never slows. We'd watch anything Samara Weaving is in, but her portrayal of Grace means she just became one of our favorite Final Girls as well.  Support the show

Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight - "Evening, motel people..." Who other than The Crypt Keeper could insure blood and boobs within the first five minutes of a film? Come for the nudity and gore, stay for the fun FX and joyous performances by Jada Pinkett , Billy Zane , William Sadler, CCH Pounder, Thomas Haden Church and Dick Miller! A great cast always means a good time, and this film...

The Tokoloshe - "I need the job" A fantastic horror film that comes out of South African folklore, the Tokoloshe is a monster that feeds on children and those left alone. When Busi comes to Johannesburg to find work, she didn't bargain on finding a supernatural beast as well. Great camerawork, superb performances and solid directing make this one super cool.  Support the show

Crazy As Hell (2002) - "My name is Satan." When an ego driven doctor agrees to participate in a documentary where he is under constant surveillance 24/7 for 30 days and promises to cure the patients, not with medication, but with "reconstructive societal adjustment", he didn't wager he'd be up against a patient who claims to be Satan. Is he insane or who he truly clai...

Thriller (2018) - "Hoochie Love" When a childhood prank goes wrong, a group of friends must live with the guilt of what they've done - and pay for their sins! A fun take on the teen slasher genre, this film keeps you guessing and has fun with an eclectic bunch of characters. PLUS you get to see RZA as a high school principal! Everyone wins!  Support the show

Da Sweet Blood of Jesus (2014) - "I'm addicted to blood" Spike Lee's 2014 film Da Sweet Blood of Jesus is a remake of the 1973 film Ganja & Hess and updates the story to modern day. When an reserved, rich, gorgeous anthropologist meets a bold, brave, gorgeous gold digger who is willing to overlook a lot for her money, the sparks fly in this unusual take on the vampire genre...

Mayhem (2017)- "It's the virus talking." When a contagious virus sweeps a large corporate office building and causes the victims to lose all inhibitions, you bet it's gonna be Mayhem! Joe Lynch's 2017 film is a bloody, gory ball of fun, and Samara Weaving and Steven Yeun chew every bit of blood soaked scenery with absolute glee! A wild ride!  Support the show

Eyes Without A Face (1960) - "Human guinea pig." If you haven't seen the 1960 black and white amazingness that is Eyes Without A Face , get on it right away! An incredibly stark and beautiful film with one of the goriest scenes we've ever seen in that time period - we were shocked and delighted! An unconventional story with a very original look and feel, this film is truly uniq...

The Void (2016) - "No, you're going to die"   2016's The Void teams up an unlikely rag tag bunch of small town folks and traps them in a half shut down hospital, up against ominous white robed figures, unhinged outsiders and, oh, maybe a Lovecraftian monster or two. You'll recognize the influences, but this film turns them into something entirely new and fun.  Support the...

Adam Green's 2010 film FROZEN   (not to be confused with the Disney flick) is a hardcore, not for the weak intense ride. When three friends get stuck on a ski lift, they must push themselves to the limit in order to try and survive. If you haven't seen this film, we highly recommend it. So well done.  Support the show

The Rage: Carrie 2 (1999) - "Sex and Suicide" This 1999 film is the sequel to Carrie and even has Sue Snell as a bridge character between the two films, but definitely pales in comparison to Brian De Palma's dynamite 1976 film. Rachel is misunderstood at home and at school, and when a serious of catastrophic events happen to her, her raw unleashed power comes to the surface at last!...

Cat People (1942) - "I love loneliness" Jacques Toueneur's 1942 film is a starkly beautiful film full of crisp black and white shadows. When a man falls in love with a woman who believes she is from a cursed village, he must decide whether she is supernatural or super crazy. A beautifully made film with a sensuous lead performance by Simone Simon .  Support the show
