HFCC Christ Centered Hope for Today's World

As we honor Memorial Day 2025, we remember the cost of freedom—paid by the lives of countless brave men and women throughout American history. From the Vietnam Wall to the USS Arizona, these memorials remind us that freedom comes at a high price. But there is another memorial—one even more eternal: the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, remembered through Communion. In today’s message, Pastor Donn takes u...

It is War! Most of us realize the spiritual battle going on behind the scenes on the Earth daily. You just need to turn on the news for two minutes to realize the mess we are in. In typical warfare, we all have an idea as to what it takes to defend yourself. But what about protection from spiritual warfare? Ephesians 6 records the solution: The Belt of Truth; The Breastplate of Righteousness; The...

All of us are familiar with the events leading up to, and of His crucifixion. However we can often get lost in the familiar texts, and not truly think about what it must have been like to be there on that day. Today, Randy brings an unforgettable point of view of the day that changed history. And not just of one that observed it but has been engraved in the story with an incredible witness of fait...

Worldwide, the church body sets aside this day we call Good Friday to reflect on the reason our Lord Christ Jesus came to this earth as a man: To be the perfect sacrifice to once and for all pay for sins. In tonight's message, Josh tries to show the incredible pain and agony our Creator willingly endured, just to redeem us under His divine grace. This message is heavy, and explores both the Script...

As Christians, we should have a deep respect for the origins of our faith, which God began with establishing Abraham and his descendants as the people that would bring forth the Messiah. After their miraculous release from captivity in Egypt, God established the festival of Passover, to commemorate the hasty departure of Israel from their captors. This event that is still celebrated today is fille...

Palm Sunday! Every year as we celebrating the day that Jesus was proclaimed a King to Jerusalem, we typically focus on the cheers, the proclamations and the joy of that day. But we often forget what else happened at that moment. A rare event we only see two other times in Scripture...Jesus wept. Today Jim takes us past the glamor and excitement of the event to take a look at what Jesus was feeling...

We all know Jesus died for the sins of the world. For your sin. But when you stop and think about it, why? I mean certainly you are basically a good person. You might have had a few minor hiccups in life, but overall you feel that the sin you have committed certainly does not deserve the brutal torture and murder of God Himself, right? Then why was that the way sin needed to be forgiven? Donn Schr...

But we aren't the only ones that have dealt with the constant struggle of difficulties, and when it came to the early church, it was something they were no strangers to. Today, Jim Barnhart takes us to 1 Peter, and takes a look at that all important question of what good can pain and suffering serve...

Gary Froiland returns to the pulpit today, and takes a different approach at the message of the Bible. A surprise attack on December 7th brought the United States into the horrible World War II, and ultimately dropped the first atomic bomb in an attempt to end the war once and for all. But there is a surprising detail about this event that is not often taught prior to the bombing of Hiroshima, and...

Jim Barnhart returns today and delights as always. Today's Topic: Worship. We all tend to find ourselves at some point or another giving ourselves to the idea that worship is singing a few songs on Sunday, or even shooting a prayer heaven bound every once in a while to thank God for something He does in our lives. But did you realize there is so much more to this topic? Today Jim brings up a famil...

Many people view the central figures of Scripture as larger than life; almost like heroes. They achieved great things, fought mighty battles, and lived extraordinary lives. While this is true, we often overlook their beginnings: their origin stories. Where did they come from? Who were they before God called them? Today, Al explores the backgrounds of familiar names like Moses, David, and Jonah, un...

"What is Truth?" The famous quote made by Pilate in John 18:38 is still a question that millions worldwide ask as they search for it everywhere. Each day we are flooded with "truths", but are they really? What is Truth? Today Donn Schroeder returns and delivers a through-provoking dive into this subject of truth. First, by defining the dualistic foundations of the concept of truth, we are able to...

When we are in a close relationship, say with a parent, we make an effort to communicate with them. Our needs, our hopes and desires. And in return, they provide us with an answer to that. But do you realize that the same can be said about our relationship with God? Today, Randy takes us to James 4, where we take a look at our line of spiritual communication with the Father: Prayer. You may be sur...

We are all familiar with what is commonly called The Lord's Supper, or the last supper. But after the initial installment of this practice, what did the early church believers do with it? What practices did they begin that ultimately lead to Paul writing the church in Corinth regarding this holiest of rituals. And more importantly, why do we still partake in this ancient tradition? And is there a...

Do you find yourself feeling powerless in a dark world? Where the forces of evil seem to be triumphant at every turn of the road? Does it often feel like we are hammered over and over in this game of life as we traverse this earthly realm? Would it surprise you to realize that you are simply one in a long line of people who have been part of a cosmic battle: a match between good and evil? Between...

It is Sanctity of Life Sunday, where we focus on the miracle and distinctiveness of human life, and it's value. As human life is devalued in our society, and the innocent are no longer protected, Gary Froiland takes us back to the Bible to search out the value of life and God's intentions for it. We also take a dive into the science of life. When does it begin? At what point does a 'fetus' become...

Communion, the Lord's Supper or the eucharist. Millions partake in this Holiest of acts, but quite often it becomes such routine, we can forget what it is all about. Here is a short Communion talk given at our church on the first Sunday of 2025, as a reminder of what we are doing, and what we are committing to when taking part of Remembering Christ's Sacrifice. When we think of Elijah what is the first thing that comes to mind? Perhaps it is the incredible revelation of the chariots of fire, or the unending supply of flour and oil for the widow or the triumphant call of fire from heaven at Mount Carmel. He accomplished many great things, but at the end of it all was still human. He still struggled with the same things we do today. And after his great sta...

Baggage. We all have it in some form or another. For some, it is the guilt of past mistakes, be it infrequent or constant. For others, it is the background in which we came from. Either way, we all seem to have something that Satan uses to try to convince us we aren’t worthy to stand for Christ. But should that stop us? Today, one of our church members Josh takes a look into the history of Jesus....

Welcome back Jim as he closes out the Christmas season by reviewing the often referred to ‘mystery’ of Jesus and His mission. There are some wonderful insights today that tie in references and practices from the Old Testament that pointed to Jesus, and Jim points some of them out that God put in advance for all to recognize the Messiah. But after His coming, what then? In what way does that help u...
